2 Nur auf GottGott vertraut still meine SeeleSeele, von ihm kommt meine Rettung.1 To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.12
3 Nur er ist mein FelsFels und meine Rettung, meine hohe FestungFestung; ich werde nicht viel wanken.2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.3
4 Bis wann wollt ihr gegen einen MannMann anstürmen? Ihr alle ihn niederreißen wie eine überhängende Wand, eine angestoßene Mauer?3 How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.
5 Sie ratschlagen nur, ihn von seiner HöheHöhe zu stoßen; sie haben Wohlgefallen an der Lüge; mit ihrem Mund segnen sie, und in ihrem Innern fluchen sie. (SelaSela.) 4 They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.4
6 Nur auf GottGott vertraue still meine SeeleSeele! Denn von ihm kommt meine Erwartung.5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
7 Nur er ist mein FelsFels und meine Rettung, meine hohe FestungFestung; ich werde nicht wanken.6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
8 Auf GottGott ruht mein HeilHeil und meine HerrlichkeitHerrlichkeit; der FelsFels meiner Stärke, meine ZufluchtZuflucht, ist in GottGott.7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
9 Vertraut auf ihn allezeit, o Volk! Schüttet vor ihm aus euer HerzHerz! GottGott ist unsere ZufluchtZuflucht. (SelaSela.)8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
10 Nur Eitelkeit2 sind die Menschensöhne, Lüge die Männersöhne. Auf der Waagschale steigen sie empor, sie sind allesamt leichter als ein Hauch3. 9 Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.5
11 Vertraut nicht auf Erpressung, und setzt nicht eitle HoffnungHoffnung auf RaubRaub4. Wenn der Reichtum wächst, so setzt euer HerzHerz nicht darauf!10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
12 Einmal hat GottGott geredet, zweimal habe ich dieses gehört, dass die Stärke GottesGottes sei. 11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.6
13 Und dein, o HerrHerr, ist die Güte; denn du, du vergiltst jedem nach seinem Werk.12 Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.
