1 Und es geschah nach dem TodTod MosesMoses, des KnechtesKnechtes des HERRN, da sprach der HERR zu Josua1, dem SohnSohn Nuns, dem DienerDiener MosesMoses, und sagte:1 Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,
2 Mein KnechtKnecht MoseMose ist gestorben; und nun, mach dich auf, geh über diesen JordanJordan, du und dieses ganze Volk, in das Land, das ich ihnen, den KindernKindern IsraelIsrael, gebe.2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
3 Jeden Ort, auf den eure Fußsohle treten wird, euch habe ich ihn gegeben, so wie ich zu MoseMose geredet habe.3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
4 Von der WüsteWüste und diesem LibanonLibanon bis zum großen Strom, dem Strom Phrat, das ganze Land der HethiterHethiter, und bis zum großen MeerMeer gegen SonnenuntergangSonnenuntergang, soll eure Grenze sein.4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.
5 Es soll niemand vor dir bestehen alle TageTage deines LebensLebens: so wie ich mit MoseMose gewesen bin, werde ich mit dir sein; ich werde dich nicht versäumen und dich nicht verlassen.5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
6 Sei stark und mutig! Denn du, du sollst diesem Volk das Land als ErbeErbe austeilen, das ich ihren VäternVätern geschworen habe, ihnen zu geben.6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.1
7 Nur sei sehr stark und mutig, dass du darauf achtest, zu tun nach dem ganzen GesetzGesetz, das mein KnechtKnecht MoseMose dir geboten hat. Weiche nicht davon ab zur Rechten noch zur Linken, damit es dir gelinge überall, wohin du gehst. 7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.2
8 Dieses BuchBuch des GesetzesGesetzes soll nicht von deinem Mund weichen, und du sollst darüber sinnen TagTag und NachtNacht, damit du darauf achtest, zu tun nach allem, was darin geschrieben ist; denn dann wirst du auf deinem Weg Erfolg haben, und dann wird es dir gelingen.8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.3
9 Habe ich dir nicht geboten: Sei stark und mutig? Erschrick nicht und fürchte dich nicht! Denn der HERR, dein GottGott, ist mit dir überall, wohin du gehst.9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
10 Und JosuaJosua gebot den VorstehernVorstehern des Volkes und sprach: Geht mitten durch das LagerLager und gebietet dem Volk und sprecht:10 Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,
11 Bereitet euch Zehrung; denn in noch drei Tagen werdet ihr über diesen JordanJordan ziehen, um hinzukommen, das Land in Besitz zu nehmen, das der HERR, euer GottGott, euch gibt, es zu besitzen. 11 Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the LORD your God giveth you to possess it.
12 Und zu den RubeniternRubenitern und zu den GaditernGaditern und zu dem halben Stamm ManasseManasse sprach JosuaJosua und sagte:12 And to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, spake Joshua, saying,
13 Gedenkt des WortesWortes, das MoseMose, der KnechtKnecht des HERRN, euch geboten hat, indem er sprach: Der HERR, euer GottGott, schafft euch RuheRuhe und gibt euch dieses Land. 13 Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, The LORD your God hath given you rest, and hath given you this land.
14 Eure Frauen, eure KinderKinder und euer ViehVieh sollen in dem Land bleiben, das MoseMose euch diesseits des JordanJordan gegeben hat; ihr aber, alle kampfbereiten Männer, sollt gerüstet vor euren BrüdernBrüdern hinüberziehen und ihnen helfen, 14 Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side Jordan; but ye shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valour, and help them;4
15 bis der HERR euren BrüdernBrüdern RuheRuhe schafft wie euch, und auch sie das Land besitzen, das der HERR, euer GottGott, ihnen gibt. Dann sollt ihr in das Land eures Besitztums zurückkehren und es besitzen, das MoseMose, der KnechtKnecht des HERRN, euch gegeben hat, diesseits des JordanJordan, gegen SonnenaufgangSonnenaufgang.15 Until the LORD have given your brethren rest, as he hath given you, and they also have possessed the land which the LORD your God giveth them: then ye shall return unto the land of your possession, and enjoy it, which Moses the LORD'S servant gave you on this side Jordan toward the sunrising.
16 Und sie antworteten JosuaJosua und sprachen: Alles, was du uns geboten hast, wollen wir tun, und wohin irgend du uns senden wirst, wollen wir gehen.16 And they answered Joshua, saying, All that thou commandest us we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us, we will go.
17 Nach allem, wie wir MoseMose gehorcht haben, so wollen wir dir gehorchen. Nur möge der HERR, dein GottGott, mit dir sein, wie er mit MoseMose gewesen ist!17 According as we hearkened unto Moses in all things, so will we hearken unto thee: only the LORD thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.
18 Jedermann, der deinem Befehl widerspenstig ist und nicht auf deine WorteWorte hört in allem, was du uns gebietest, soll getötet werden. Nur sei stark und mutig!18 Whosoever he be that doth rebel against thy commandment, and will not hearken unto thy words in all that thou commandest him, he shall be put to death: only be strong and of a good courage.
