I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.

2 Ich will dich erheben, HERR, denn¹ du hast mich emporgezogen und hast nicht über mich sich freuen lassen meine Feinde.

1 A Psalm and Song at the dedication of the house of David. I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.

3 HERR, mein Gott! Zu dir habe ich geschrien, und du hast mich geheilt.

2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

4 HERR! Du hast meine Seele aus dem Scheol heraufgeführt, hast mich belebt aus denen, die in die Grube hinabfahren.

3 O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

5 Singt Psalmen² dem HERRN, ihr seine Frommen, und preist sein heiliges Gedächtnis³!

4 Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.¹

6 Denn ein Augenblick ist in seinem Zorn, ein Leben in seiner Gunst; am Abend kehrt Weinen ein, und am Morgen ist Jubel da.

5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.²³⁴

7 Ich zwar sagte in meinem Wohlergehen⁴: Ich werde nicht wanken ewiglich.
