2 Wie lieblich sind deine Wohnungen, HERR der HeerscharenHeerscharen!1 To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!1
3 Es sehnt sich, ja, es schmachtet meine SeeleSeele nach den Vorhöfen des HERRN; mein HerzHerz und mein FleischFleisch rufen laut nach dem lebendigen Gott1.2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
4 Selbst der SperlingSperling hat ein HausHaus gefunden, und die SchwalbeSchwalbe ein Nest für sich, wo sie ihre Jungen hinlegt ... deine Altäre, HERR der HeerscharenHeerscharen, mein König und mein GottGott! 3 Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.
5 Glückselig, die in deinem HausHaus wohnen! Stets werden sie dich loben. (SelaSela.)4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.
6 Glückselig der MenschMensch, dessen Stärke in dir ist, in deren Herzen gebahnte Wege sind!5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
7 Durch das Tränental2 gehend, machen sie es zu einem Quellenort; ja, mit SegnungenSegnungen bedeckt es der Frühregen.6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.23
8 Sie gehen von KraftKraft zu KraftKraft; sie erscheinen vor GottGott in ZionZion.7 They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.4
9 HERR, GottGott der HeerscharenHeerscharen, höre mein GebetGebet; nimm zu Ohren, du GottGott JakobsJakobs! (SelaSela.)8 O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.
10 Du, unser SchildSchild, sieh, o GottGott; und schaue an das Angesicht deines Gesalbten!9 Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.
11 Denn ein TagTag in deinen Vorhöfen ist besser als sonst tausend; ich will lieber an der Schwelle stehen im HausHaus meines GottesGottes, als wohnen in den Zelten der Gottlosen3.10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.5
12 Denn der HERR, GottGott, ist SonneSonne und SchildSchild; GnadeGnade und HerrlichkeitHerrlichkeit wird der HERR geben, kein Gutes vorenthalten denen, die in Lauterkeit4 wandeln.11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
13 HERR der HeerscharenHeerscharen, glückselig der MenschMensch, der auf dich vertraut!12 O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
