2 Wie ein Hirsch² lechzt nach Wasserbächen, so lechzt meine Seele nach dir, o Gott!

3 Meine Seele dürstet nach Gott, nach dem lebendigen Gott³: Wann werde ich kommen und erscheinen vor Gottes Angesicht?

4 Meine Tränen sind mir zur Speise geworden Tag und Nacht, da man den ganzen Tag zu mir sagt: Wo ist dein Gott?

7 Mein Gott⁸, es beugt sich nieder in mir meine Seele; darum gedenke ich deiner aus dem Land des Jordan und des Hermon, vom Berg Mizhar.

6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.⁶

8 Tiefe⁹ ruft der Tiefe¹⁰ beim Brausen deiner Wassergüsse; alle deine Wogen und deine Wellen sind über mich hingegangen.

9 Des Tages wird der HERR seine Güte entbieten, und des Nachts wird sein Lied bei mir sein, ein Gebet zu dem Gott¹¹ meines Lebens.
