1 Tröstet, tröstet mein Volk! Spricht euer GottGott.1 Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
2 Redet zum Herzen JerusalemsJerusalems, und ruft ihr zu, dass ihre Mühsal vollendet, dass ihre SchuldSchuld abgetragen ist, dass sie von der Hand des HERRN Zweifaches empfangen hat für alle ihre Sünden.2 Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD'S hand double for all her sins.12
3 Stimme eines Rufenden: In der WüsteWüste bahnt1 den Weg des HERRN; ebnet in der SteppeSteppe eine Straße2 für unseren GottGott!3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Jedes TalTal soll erhöht, und jeder BergBerg und Hügel erniedrigt werden; und das Höckerige soll zur EbeneEbene werden, und das Hügelige zur Niederung! 4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:34
5 Und die HerrlichkeitHerrlichkeit des HERRN wird sich offenbaren, und alles FleischFleisch miteinander wird sie sehen; denn der Mund des HERRN hat geredet.5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
6 Stimme eines Sprechenden: RufeRufe! Und er spricht: Was soll ich rufen? „Alles FleischFleisch ist GrasGras, und all seine Anmut wie die Blume des Feldes.6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
7 Das GrasGras ist verdorrt, die Blume ist abgefallen3; denn der Hauch des HERRN hat sie angeweht. Ja, das Volk ist GrasGras.7 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
8 Das GrasGras ist verdorrt, die Blume ist abgefallen4; aber das WortWort unseres GottesGottes besteht in Ewigkeit.“8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
9 Auf einen hohen BergBerg steige hinauf, ZionZion, du Verkündigerin froher Botschaft; erhebe mit MachtMacht deine Stimme, JerusalemJerusalem, du Verkündigerin froher Botschaft! Erhebe sie, fürchte dich nicht; sprich zu den Städten JudasJudas: Siehe da, euer GottGott!9 O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!56
10 Siehe, der HerrHerr, HERRHERR, kommt mit Kraft5, und sein ArmArm übt Herrschaft für ihn; siehe, sein LohnLohn ist bei ihm, und seine Vergeltung geht vor ihm her. 10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.78
11 Er wird seine HerdeHerde weiden wie ein HirteHirte, die Lämmer wird er in seinen ArmArm nehmen und in seinem GewandbauschGewandbausch tragen, die Säugenden wird er sanft leiten. 11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.9
12 Wer hat die Wasser gemessen mit seiner hohlen Hand und die HimmelHimmel abgegrenzt mit der SpanneSpanne und hat den StaubStaub der ErdeErde in ein Maß6 gefasst und die BergeBerge mit der WaageWaage gewogen und die Hügel mit Waagschalen?12 Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?10
13 Wer hat den GeistGeist des HERRN gelenkt7 und wer als sein RatgeberRatgeber ihn unterwiesen?13 Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him?11
14 Mit wem beriet er sich, dass er ihm Verstand gegeben und ihn belehrt hätte über den Pfad des Rechts und ihn ErkenntnisErkenntnis gelehrt und ihm den Weg der EinsichtEinsicht8 kundgemacht hätte?14 With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?1213
15 Siehe, NationenNationen sind geachtet wie ein Tropfen am Eimer und wie ein Sandkorn auf der Waagschale. Siehe, InselnInseln sind wie ein Stäubchen, das emporschwebt9.15 Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.
16 Und der LibanonLibanon reicht nicht hin zum Brennholz10, und sein Wild reicht nicht hin zum BrandopferBrandopfer.16 And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.
17 Alle NationenNationen sind wie nichts vor ihm und werden von ihm geachtet wie Nichtigkeit und Leere.17 All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.
18 Und wem wollt ihr Gott11 vergleichen? Und was für ein GleichnisGleichnis wollt ihr ihm an die Seite stellen?18 To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?
19 Hat der KünstlerKünstler das BildBild gegossen, so überzieht es der Schmelzer mit GoldGold und schweißt silberne KettenKetten daran.19 The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains.
20 Wer arm ist, so dass er nicht viel opfern kann12, der wählt ein HolzHolz, das nicht fault; er sucht sich einen geschickten KünstlerKünstler, um ein BildBild herzustellen, das nicht wanke.20 He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved.14
21 Wisst ihr es nicht? Hört ihr es nicht? Ist es euch nicht von Anbeginn verkündet worden? Habt ihr nicht EinsichtEinsicht erlangt in die Grundlegung13 der ErdeErde? 21 Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22 Er ist es, der über dem Kreis der ErdeErde thront, und ihre Bewohner sind wie Heuschrecken; der die HimmelHimmel ausgespannt hat wie einen Flor, und sie ausgebreitet hat wie ein ZeltZelt zum Wohnen; 22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:15
23 der die Fürsten zu nichts macht, die RichterRichter der ErdeErde in Nichtigkeit verwandelt14.23 That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.
24 Kaum sind sie gepflanzt, kaum sind sie gesät, kaum hat ihr StockStock Wurzeln in der ErdeErde getrieben: da bläst er sie schon an, und sie verdorren, und ein SturmwindSturmwind rafft sie wie StoppelnStoppeln weg. 24 Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.
25 Wem denn wollt ihr mich vergleichen, dem ich gleich wäre?, spricht der HeiligeHeilige.25 To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.
26 Hebt zur HöheHöhe eure AugenAugen empor und seht: Wer hat diese da geschaffen? Er, der ihr Heer herausführt nach der Zahl, ruft sie alle mit NamenNamen: Wegen der Größe seiner MachtMacht und der Stärke seiner KraftKraft15 bleibt keines aus.26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
27 Warum sprichst du, JakobJakob, und redest du, IsraelIsrael: Mein Weg ist verborgen vor dem HERRN, und mein Recht entgeht meinem GottGott?27 Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
28 Weißt du es nicht? Oder hast du es nicht gehört? Ein ewiger GottGott ist der HERR, der SchöpferSchöpfer der Enden der ErdeErde; er ermüdet nicht und ermattet nicht, unergründlich ist sein Verstand.28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 Er gibt dem Müden KraftKraft, und dem Unvermögenden reicht er Stärke dar in Fülle.29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Und Jünglinge ermüden und ermatten, und junge Männer fallen hin;30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 aber die auf den HERRN harren, gewinnen neue KraftKraft: sie heben die Schwingen empor wie die AdlerAdler; sie laufen und ermatten nicht, sie gehen und ermüden nicht.31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.16
