Because in the night Ar of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence; because in the night Kir of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence;¹

Denn die Anhöhe von LuchitLuchit steigt man mit Weinen hinauf; denn auf dem Weg nach HoronaimHoronaim erhebt man Jammergeschrei⁵.	5 KJV: Isa. 15,5 My heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives shall flee unto Zoar, an heifer of three years old: for by the mounting up of Luhith with weeping shall they go it up; for in the way of Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction.³⁴
6 ELB-BK: Jes. 15,6 Denn die Wasser von NimrimNimrim sollen zu Wüsten werden. Denn verdorrt ist das GrasGras , verschmachtet das Kraut; das Grün ist nicht mehr.	6 KJV: Isa. 15,6 For the waters of Nimrim shall be desolate: for the hay is withered away, the grass faileth, there is no green thing.⁵

1 Ausspruch über Moab.Denn über Nacht ist Ar-Moab verwüstet, vernichtet; denn über Nacht ist Kir-Moab verwüstet, vernichtet.

1 The burden of Moab. Because in the night Ar of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence; because in the night Kir of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence;¹

2 Man¹ steigt zum Götzentempel² hinauf, und nach Dibon auf die Höhen, um zu weinen; auf Nebo und auf Medeba jammert Moab; auf allen seinen Häuptern ist eine Glatze, jeder Bart ist abgeschoren.

5 Mein Herz schreit über Moab – seine Flüchtlinge fliehen bis Zoar, bis Eglath-Schelischija⁴. Denn die Anhöhe von Luchit steigt man mit Weinen hinauf; denn auf dem Weg nach Horonaim erhebt man Jammergeschrei⁵.
