1 Und der HERR sprach zu mir: Nimm dir eine große TafelTafel und schreibe darauf mit Menschengriffel1: Es eilt der RaubRaub, bald kommt die BeuteBeute;1 Moreover the LORD said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man's pen concerning Mahershalalhashbaz.1
2 und ich will mir2 zuverlässige Zeugen nehmen: UrijaUrija, den PriesterPriester, und SacharjaSacharja, den SohnSohn JeberekjasJeberekjas.2 And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.
3 Und ich nahte der Prophetin, und sie wurde schwanger und gebar einen SohnSohn. Und der HERR sprach zu mir: Gib ihm den NamenNamen: „Es eilt der RaubRaub, bald kommt die BeuteBeute“.3 And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD to me, Call his name Mahershalalhashbaz.2
4 Denn ehe der Knabe zu rufen weiß: „Mein VaterVater“ und „Meine MutterMutter“, wird man vor dem König von AssyrienAssyrien hertragen den Reichtum von DamaskusDamaskus und die BeuteBeute von SamariaSamaria. 4 For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.3
5 Und der HERR fuhr fort, weiter zu mir zu reden, und sprach:5 The LORD spake also unto me again, saying,
6 Weil dieses Volk die Wasser von SiloahSiloah verachtet, die still fließen, und FreudeFreude hat an RezinRezin und an dem SohnSohn RemaljasRemaljas:6 Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son;
7 darum, siehe, lässt der HerrHerr über sie heraufkommen die Wasser des Stromes, die mächtigen und großen – den König von AssyrienAssyrien und all seine Herrlichkeit3; und er wird über alle seine Betten steigen und über alle seine Ufer gehen. 7 Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:
8 Und er wird in JudaJuda eindringen, überschwemmen und überfluten; bis an den Hals wird er reichen. Und die AusdehnungAusdehnung seiner FlügelFlügel wird die Breite deines Landes füllen, ImmanuelImmanuel!8 And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.4
9 Tobt4, ihr Völker, und werdet zerschmettert! Und nehmt es zu Ohren, alle ihr Fernen der ErdeErde! Gürtet euch und werdet zerschmettert, gürtet euch und werdet zerschmettert!9 Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.5
10 Beschließt einen Ratschlag, und er soll vereitelt werden; redet ein WortWort, und es soll nicht zustande kommen; denn GottGott ist mit uns. 10 Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.
11 Denn so hat der HERR zu mir gesprochen, indem seine Hand stark auf mir war und er5 mich warnte, nicht auf dem Weg dieses Volkes zu wandeln:11 For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,6
12 Ihr sollt nicht alles Verschwörung nennen, was dieses Volk Verschwörung nennt; und fürchtet nicht ihre Furcht6 und erschreckt nicht davor.12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
13 Den HERRN der HeerscharenHeerscharen, den sollt ihr heiligen; und er sei eure Furcht, und er sei euer Schrecken.13 Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
14 Und er wird zum HeiligtumHeiligtum sein, aber zum Stein des AnstoßesAnstoßes und zum FelsFels des Stürzens den beiden Häusern IsraelsIsraels, zur SchlingeSchlinge und zum FallstrickFallstrick den Bewohnern von JerusalemJerusalem.14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
15 Und viele unter ihnen werden stolpern und werden fallen und zerschmettert und verstrickt und gefangen werden. 15 And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.
16 Binde das ZeugnisZeugnis zu, versiegle das Gesetz7 unter8 meinen JüngernJüngern.16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
17 Und ich will auf den HERRN harren, der sein Angesicht verbirgt vor dem HausHaus JakobJakob, und will auf ihn hoffen.17 And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
18 Siehe, ich und die KinderKinder, die der HERR mir gegeben hat, wir sind zu ZeichenZeichen und zu Wundern9 in IsraelIsrael, vor dem HERRN der HeerscharenHeerscharen, der auf dem BergBerg ZionZion wohnt.18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.
19 Und wenn sie zu euch sprechen werden: Befragt die TotenbeschwörerTotenbeschwörer und die WahrsagerWahrsager, die flüstern und murmeln, so sprecht: Soll nicht ein Volk seinen GottGott befragen? soll es für die Lebenden die Toten befragen?19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
20 Zum GesetzGesetz und zum ZeugnisZeugnis! Wenn sie nicht nach diesem WortWort sprechen, so gibt es für sie keine MorgenröteMorgenröte10.20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.7
21 Und es wird darin11 umherziehen, schwer gedrückt und hungernd. Und es wird geschehen, wenn es Hunger leidet, so wird es erzürnt sein und seinen König und seinen GottGott verfluchen. 21 And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.
22 Und es wird aufwärts schauen und wird zur ErdeErde blicken: und siehe, DrangsalDrangsal und FinsternisFinsternis, angstvolles Dunkel; und in dichte FinsternisFinsternis ist es hineingestoßen.22 And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.
23 Doch12 nicht bleibt FinsternisFinsternis dem Land, das BedrängnisBedrängnis hat. Um die erste ZeitZeit hat er das Land SebulonSebulon und das Land NaphtaliNaphtali verächtlich gemacht; und in der letzten bringt er zu Ehren den Weg am MeerMeer13, das Jenseitige des JordanJordan, den Kreis14 der NationenNationen.1 Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.8
