Denn nicht mehr sollst du Weichliche und Verzärtelte genannt werden.	1 KJV: Isa. 47,1 Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.

6 ELB-BK: Jes. 47,6 Ich war ergrimmt über mein Volk, ich entweihte mein ErbteilErbteil , und ich gab sie in deine Hand. Du hast ihnen kein Erbarmen erzeigt, auf den Greis legtest du schwer dein JochJoch ;	6 KJV: Isa. 47,6 I was wroth with my people, I have polluted mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.
7 ELB-BK: Jes. 47,7 und du sprachst: In Ewigkeit werde ich Herrin sein!, so dass du dir dieses nicht zu Herzen nahmst, das Ende davon nicht bedachtest.	7 KJV: Isa. 47,7 And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.

Ich werde nicht als Witwe sitzen, noch Kinderlosigkeit kennen.	8 KJV: Isa. 47,8 Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:
9 ELB-BK: Jes. 47,9 Dieses beides wird über dich kommen in einem Augenblick, an einem TagTag : Kinderlosigkeit und Witwentum; in vollstem MaßMaß werden sie über dich kommen, trotz der Menge deiner Zaubereien, trotz der gewaltigen Zahl deiner Bannsprüche.	9 KJV: Isa. 47,9 But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments.

Deine Weisheit und dein WissenWissen , das hat dich irregeführt; und du sprachst in deinem Herzen: Ich bin es, und gar keine sonst!	10 KJV: Isa. 47,10 For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me.¹
11 ELB-BK: Jes. 47,11 Aber es kommt ein Unglück über dich, das du nicht wegzaubern kannst; und ein VerderbenVerderben wird über dich herfallen, das du nicht zu sühnen vermagst; und plötzlich wird eine VerwüstungVerwüstung über dich kommen, die du nicht ahnst. –	11 KJV: Isa. 47,11 Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know.²³
12 ELB-BK: Jes. 47,12 Tritt doch auf mit deinen Bannsprüchen und mit der Menge deiner Zaubereien, worin du dich abgemüht hast von deiner Jugend an! Vielleicht kannst du dir Nutzen schaffen, vielleicht wirst du Schrecken einflößen.	12 KJV: Isa. 47,12 Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.

Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.⁴⁵

Vor der GewaltGewalt der Flamme konnten sie ihr LebenLeben nicht retten: Es war keine KohleKohle , um sich zu wärmen, kein FeuerFeuer , um davor zu sitzen.	14 KJV: Isa. 47,14 Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.⁶

1 Steige herunter und setze dich in den Staub, Jungfrau, Tochter Babel! Setze dich hin zur Erde, ohne Thron, Tochter der Chaldäer! Denn nicht mehr sollst du Weichliche und Verzärtelte genannt werden.

1 Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.

2 Nimm die Mühle und mahle Mehl; schlage deinen Schleier zurück, zieh die Schleppe herauf, entblöße die Schenkel, wate durch Ströme;

2 Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.

3 aufgedeckt werde deine Blöße, ja, gesehen deine Schande! Ich werde Rache nehmen und Menschen nicht verschonen¹.

3 Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man.

4 Unser Erlöser, HERR der Heerscharen ist sein Name, der Heilige Israels!

4 As for our redeemer, the LORD of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.

5 Sitze stumm und geh in die Finsternis, Tochter der Chaldäer! Denn nicht mehr sollst du Herrin der Königreiche genannt werden.

5 Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms.

6 Ich war ergrimmt über mein Volk, ich entweihte mein Erbteil, und ich gab sie in deine Hand. Du hast ihnen kein Erbarmen erzeigt, auf den Greis legtest du schwer dein Joch;

6 I was wroth with my people, I have polluted mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.

7 und du sprachst: In Ewigkeit werde ich Herrin sein!, so dass du dir dieses nicht zu Herzen nahmst, das Ende davon nicht bedachtest.

7 And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.

8 Und nun höre dieses, du Üppige, die in Sicherheit wohnt, die in ihrem Herzen spricht: Ich bin es, und gar keine sonst! Ich werde nicht als Witwe sitzen, noch Kinderlosigkeit kennen.

8 Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:

9 Dieses beides wird über dich kommen in einem Augenblick, an einem Tag: Kinderlosigkeit und Witwentum; in vollstem Maß werden sie über dich kommen, trotz der Menge deiner Zaubereien, trotz der gewaltigen Zahl deiner Bannsprüche.

9 But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments.

10 Und du vertrautest auf deine Bosheit, du sprachst: Niemand sieht mich. Deine Weisheit und dein Wissen, das hat dich irregeführt; und du sprachst in deinem Herzen: Ich bin es, und gar keine sonst!

10 For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me.¹

11 Aber es kommt ein Unglück über dich, das du nicht wegzaubern kannst; und ein Verderben wird über dich herfallen, das du nicht zu sühnen vermagst; und plötzlich wird eine Verwüstung über dich kommen, die du nicht ahnst. –

11 Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know.²³

12 Tritt doch auf mit deinen Bannsprüchen und mit der Menge deiner Zaubereien, worin du dich abgemüht hast von deiner Jugend an! Vielleicht kannst du dir Nutzen schaffen, vielleicht wirst du Schrecken einflößen.

12 Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.

13 Du bist müde geworden durch die Menge deiner Beratungen. Sie mögen doch auftreten und dich retten, die Himmelszerleger, die Sternbeschauer, die jeden Neumond mitteilen, was über dich kommen wird! ...

13 Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.⁴⁵

14 Siehe, sie sind wie Stoppeln geworden, Feuer hat sie verbrannt! Vor der Gewalt der Flamme konnten sie ihr Leben nicht retten: Es war keine Kohle, um sich zu wärmen, kein Feuer, um davor zu sitzen.

14 Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.⁶
