1 Und es wird geschehen, wenn du der Stimme des HERRN, deines GottesGottes, fleißig gehorchst, dass du darauf achtest, zu tun alle seine GeboteGebote, die ich dir heute gebiete, so wird der HERR, dein GottGott, dich zur höchsten über alle NationenNationen der ErdeErde machen;1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2 und alle diese SegnungenSegnungen werden über dich kommen und werden dich erreichen, wenn du der Stimme des HERRN, deines GottesGottes, gehorchst.2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
3 Gesegnet wirst du sein in der Stadt, und gesegnet wirst du sein auf dem Feld.3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
4 Gesegnet wird sein die Frucht deines Leibes und die Frucht deines Landes und die Frucht deines ViehsViehs, das Geworfene deiner RinderRinder und die ZuchtZucht deines Kleinviehs.4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
5 Gesegnet wird sein dein KorbKorb und dein Backtrog.5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.1
6 Gesegnet wirst du sein bei deinem Eingang, und gesegnet wirst du sein bei deinem Ausgang.6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
7 Der HERR wird deine Feinde, die gegen dich aufstehen, geschlagen vor dir dahingeben; auf einem Weg werden sie gegen dich ausziehen, und auf sieben Wegen werden sie vor dir fliehen.7 The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
8 Der HERR wird dir den Segen entbieten in deine SpeicherSpeicher und zu allem Geschäft deiner Hand, und er wird dich segnen in dem Land, das der HERR, dein GottGott, dir gibt. 8 The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.2
9 Der HERR wird dich als ein heiliges Volk für sich bestätigen, wie er dir geschworen hat, wenn du die GeboteGebote des HERRN, deines GottesGottes, beobachtest und auf seinen Wegen wandelst; 9 The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.
10 und alle Völker der ErdeErde werden sehen, dass du nach dem NamenNamen des HERRN genannt bistERRN über dir angerufen wird">1, und werden sich vor dir fürchten.10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.
11 Und der HERR wird dir Überfluss geben an der Frucht deines Leibes und an der Frucht deines ViehsViehs und an der Frucht deines Landes, zur Wohlfahrt in dem Land, das der HERR deinen VäternVätern geschworen hat, dir zu geben. 11 And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.34
12 Der HERR wird dir seinen guten SchatzSchatz, den HimmelHimmel, öffnen, um den RegenRegen deines Landes zu geben zu seiner ZeitZeit und um alles Werk deiner Hand zu segnen; und du wirst vielen NationenNationen leihen, du aber wirst nicht entlehnen.12 The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
13 Und der HERR wird dich zum HauptHaupt machen und nicht zum Schwanz, und du wirst nur immer höher kommen und nicht abwärts gehen, wenn du den Geboten des HERRN, deines GottesGottes, gehorchst, die ich dir heute zu beobachten und zu tun gebiete, 13 And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
14 und nicht abweichst von all den Worten, die ich euch heute gebiete, weder zur Rechten noch zur Linken, um anderen GötternGöttern nachzugehen, ihnen zu dienen. 14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
15 Es wird aber geschehen, wenn du der Stimme des HERRN, deines GottesGottes, nicht gehorchst, dass du darauf achtest, zu tun alle seine GeboteGebote und seine SatzungenSatzungen, die ich dir heute gebiete, so werden alle diese Flüche über dich kommen und dich treffen. 15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
16 Verflucht wirst du sein in der Stadt, und verflucht wirst du sein auf dem Feld.16 Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.
17 Verflucht wird sein dein KorbKorb und dein Backtrog.17 Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.

20 Der HERR wird den FluchFluch, die Bestürzung und die Verwünschung gegen dich senden in allem Geschäft deiner Hand, das du tust, bis du vertilgt bist und bis du schnell umkommst wegen der Bosheit deiner Handlungen, dass du mich verlassen hast. 20 The LORD shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.5
21 Der HERR wird die PestPest an dir haften lassen, bis er dich aufreibt aus dem Land, wohin du kommst, um es in Besitz zu nehmen.21 The LORD shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.
22 Der HERR wird dich schlagen mit Schwindsucht und mit FieberglutFieberglut und mit Hitze und mit Entzündung, und mit Dürre und mit Kornbrand und mit Vergilben des Getreides, und sie werden dich verfolgen, bis du umkommst.22 The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.6
23 Und dein HimmelHimmel, der über deinem HauptHaupt ist, wird KupferKupfer sein, und die ErdeErde, die unter dir ist, EisenEisen. 23 And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.
24 Der HERR wird als RegenRegen deines Landes StaubStaub und Sand geben2: Vom HimmelHimmel wird er auf dich herabkommen, bis du vertilgt bist.24 The LORD shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
25 Der HERR wird dich geschlagen vor deinen Feinden dahingeben; auf einem Weg wirst du gegen sie ausziehen, und auf sieben Wegen wirst du vor ihnen fliehen, und du wirst umhergetrieben werden in allen3 Königreichen der ErdeErde. 25 The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.7
26 Und dein Leichnam wird allen Vögeln des HimmelsHimmels und den Tieren der ErdeErde zum Fraß werden, und niemand wird sie wegscheuchen.26 And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away.
27 Der HERR wird dich schlagen mit den Geschwüren Ägyptens, und mit BeulenBeulen und mit Krätze und mit Ausschlag, dass du nicht wirst geheilt werden können.27 The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.
28 Der HERR wird dich schlagen mit Wahnsinn und mit BlindheitBlindheit und mit Erstarrung4 des Herzens; 28 The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:
29 und du wirst am Mittag umhertappen, wie der Blinde im Finstern tappt, und du wirst kein Gelingen haben auf deinen Wegen; und du wirst nur bedrückt und beraubt sein alle TageTage, und niemand wird retten.29 And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.
30 Eine FrauFrau wirst du dir verloben, und ein anderer MannMann wird sie beschlafen; ein HausHaus wirst du bauen und nicht darin wohnen; einen WeinbergWeinberg wirst du pflanzen und ihn nicht benutzen5. 30 Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.8
31 Dein RindRind wird geschlachtet werden vor deinen AugenAugen, und du wirst nicht davon essen; dein EselEsel wird geraubtgeraubt werden vor deinem Angesicht und nicht zu dir zurückkehren; dein Kleinvieh wird deinen Feinden gegeben werden, und du wirst niemand haben, der rettet.31 Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.9
32 Deine Söhne und deine Töchter werden einem anderen Volk gegeben werden, und deine AugenAugen werden es sehen und werden nach ihnen schmachten den ganzen TagTag; aber es wird nicht in der MachtMacht deiner Hand stehen. 32 Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long: and there shall be no might in thine hand.
33 Die Frucht deines Landes und alle deine Arbeit wird ein Volk verzehren, das du nicht kennst; und du wirst nur bedrückt und geplagt sein alle TageTage.33 The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:
34 Und du wirst wahnsinnig werden vor dem Anblick deiner AugenAugen, den du erblickst.34 So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
35 Der HERR wird dich schlagen mit bösen Geschwüren an den Knien und an den Schenkeln, von deiner Fußsohle bis zu deinem ScheitelScheitel, dass du nicht wirst geheilt werden können.35 The LORD shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.
36 Der HERR wird dich und deinen König, den du über dich setzen wirst, zu einer Nation führen, die du nicht gekannt hast, du noch deine VäterVäter; und du wirst dort anderen GötternGöttern dienen, HolzHolz und Stein.36 The LORD shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.
37 Und du wirst zum Entsetzen werden, zum SprichwortSprichwort und zur Spottrede unter allen Völkern, wohin der HERR dich wegtreiben wird. 37 And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the LORD shall lead thee.
38 Viel Samen wirst du aufs Feld hinausführen; aber du wirst wenig einsammeln, denn die HeuschreckeHeuschrecke wird ihn abfressen.38 Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.
39 WeinbergeWeinberge wirst du pflanzen und bauen; aber WeinWein wirst du weder trinken noch einsammeln, denn der WurmWurm wird sie fressen.39 Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.
40 Olivenbäume wirst du haben in allen deinen Grenzen; aber mit Öl wirst du dich nicht salben, denn dein OlivenbaumOlivenbaum wird die Frucht abwerfen.40 Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit.
41 Söhne und Töchter wirst du zeugenzeugen; aber sie werden dir nicht gehören, denn sie werden in die GefangenschaftGefangenschaft gehen.41 Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.10
42 Alle deine Bäume und die Frucht deines Landes wird die Grille6 in Besitz nehmen.42 All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.11
43 Der Fremde, der in deiner Mitte ist, wird höher und höher über dich emporkommen, und du, du wirst tiefer und tiefer hinabsinken.43 The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.
44 Er wird dir leihen, du aber wirst ihm nicht leihen; er wird zum HauptHaupt, du aber wirst zum Schwanz werden.44 He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.
45 Und alle diese Flüche werden über dich kommen und dich verfolgen und dich treffen, bis du vertilgt bist; weil du der Stimme des HERRN, deines GottesGottes, nicht gehorcht hast, seine GeboteGebote und seine SatzungenSatzungen zu beobachten, die er dir geboten hat. 45 Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:
46 Und sie werden zum ZeichenZeichen und zum WunderWunder sein an dir und an deinen Nachkommen bis in Ewigkeit.46 And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.
47 Dafür dass du dem HERRN, deinem GottGott, nicht mit FreudeFreude und mit fröhlichem Herzen gedient hast wegen des Überflusses an allem, 47 Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;
48 wirst du deinen Feinden dienen, die der HERR gegen dich senden wird, in Hunger und in Durst und in Blöße und in Mangel an allem; und er wird ein eisernes JochJoch auf deinen Hals legen, bis er dich vertilgt hat.48 Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
49 Der HERR wird von ferne, vom Ende der ErdeErde her, eine Nation gegen dich herbeiführen, wie der AdlerAdler fliegt, eine Nation, deren Sprache du nicht verstehst; 49 The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;12
50 eine Nation harten Angesichts, die die Person des Greises nicht ansieht und des Knaben sich nicht erbarmt;50 A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:13
51 und die die Frucht deines ViehsViehs und die Frucht deines Landes verzehren wird, bis du vertilgt bist; die dir weder Getreide, noch Most, noch Öl, noch das Geworfene deiner RinderRinder, noch die ZuchtZucht deines Kleinviehs übriglassen wird, bis sie dich zugrunde gerichtet hat. 51 And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.
52 Und sie wird dich belagern in allen deinen Toren, bis deine Mauern, die hohen und festen, auf die du vertraust, in deinem ganzen Land gefallen sind; und sie wird dich belagern in allen deinen Toren, in deinem ganzen Land, das der HERR, dein GottGott, dir gegeben hat.52 And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the LORD thy God hath given thee.
53 Und in der Belagerung und in der BedrängnisBedrängnis, womit dein Feind dich bedrängen wird, wirst du essen die Frucht deines Leibes, das FleischFleisch deiner Söhne und deiner Töchter, die der HERR, dein GottGott, dir gegeben hat.53 And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:14
54 Der weichlichste und am meisten verzärtelte MannMann unter dir, dessen Auge wird missgünstig auf seinen BruderBruder sehen und auf die FrauFrau seines SchoßesSchoßes und auf die übrigen seiner KinderKinder, die er übrigbehalten hat, 54 So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:
55 dass er keinem von ihnen von dem FleischFleisch seiner KinderKinder geben wird, das er isst; weil ihm nichts übriggeblieben ist in der Belagerung und in der BedrängnisBedrängnis, womit dein Feind dich bedrängen wird in allen deinen Toren. 55 So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.
56 Die Weichlichste unter dir und die Verzärteltste, die vor Verzärtelung und vor Verweichlichung nie versucht hat, ihre Fußsohle auf die ErdeErde zu setzen, deren Auge wird müssgünstig auf den MannMann ihres SchoßesSchoßes sehen und auf ihren SohnSohn und auf ihre TochterTochter, 56 The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,
57 wegen7 ihrer Nachgeburt, die zwischen ihren Beinen hervorgeht, und wegen ihrer KinderKinder, die sie gebiert; denn sie wird sie im geheimen aufessen aus Mangel an allem, in der Belagerung und in der BedrängnisBedrängnis, womit dein Feind dich bedrängen wird in deinen Toren.57 And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.15
58 Wenn du nicht darauf achtest, alle WorteWorte dieses GesetzesGesetzes zu tun, die in diesem BuchBuch geschrieben sind, dass du diesen herrlichen und furchtbaren NamenNamen, den HERRN, deinen GottGott, fürchtest,58 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;
59 so wird der HERR deine Plagen und die Plagen deiner Nachkommen außergewöhnlich machen: große und andauernde Plagen und böse und andauernde Krankheiten.59 Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.
60 Und er wird alle Seuchen Ägyptens über dich bringen8, vor denen du dich fürchtest; und sie werden an dir haften.60 Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.
61 Auch alle Krankheiten und alle Plagen, die nicht in dem BuchBuch dieses GesetzesGesetzes geschrieben sind, – der HERR wird sie über dich kommen lassen, bis du vertilgt bist.61 Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.16
62 Und ihr werdet übrigbleiben als ein geringes Häuflein, anstatt dass ihr wart wie die Sterne des HimmelsHimmels an Menge; weil du der Stimme des HERRN, deines GottesGottes, nicht gehorcht hast. 62 And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the LORD thy God.
63 Und es wird geschehen: so wie der HERR sich über euch freute, euch wohlzutun und euch zu vermehren, so wird der HERR sich über euch freuen, euch zugrunde zu richten und euch zu vertilgen; und ihr werdet herausgerissen werden aus dem Land, wohin du kommst, um es in Besitz zu nehmen. 63 And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.
64 Und der HERR wird dich unter alle Völker zerstreuen, von einem Ende der ErdeErde bis zum anderen Ende der ErdeErde; und du wirst dort anderen GötternGöttern dienen, die du nicht gekannt hast, du noch deine VäterVäter, – HolzHolz und Stein.64 And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.
65 Und unter jenen NationenNationen wirst du nicht rasten, und deine Fußsohle wird keine Ruhestätte finden; und der HERR wird dir dort ein zitterndes HerzHerz geben, Erlöschen der AugenAugen und Verschmachten der SeeleSeele.65 And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:
66 Und dein LebenLeben wird schwebend vor dir hangen, und du wirst dich fürchten NachtNacht und TagTag und deinem LebenLeben nicht trauen.66 And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:
67 Am MorgenMorgen wirst du sagen: Wäre es doch AbendAbend! Und am AbendAbend wirst du sagen: Wäre es doch MorgenMorgen! Wegen der Furcht deines Herzens, womit du dich fürchten, und wegen des Anblicks deiner AugenAugen, den du erblicken wirst.67 In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
68 Und der HERR wird dich auf Schiffen nach Ägypten zurückführen, auf dem Weg, von dem ich dir gesagt habe: du sollst ihn nie mehr wiedersehen! Und ihr werdet dort euren Feinden zu Knechten und zu Mägden verkauft werden9, aber niemand wird kaufen. 68 And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.
