1 Und MoseMose berief ganz IsraelIsrael und sprach zu ihnen: Ihr habt alles gesehen, was der HERR vor euren AugenAugen im Land Ägypten getan hat, an dem PharaoPharao und an allen seinen Knechten und an seinem ganzen Land: 1 These are the words of the covenant, which the LORD commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, beside the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.
2 die großen VersuchungenVersuchungen, die deine AugenAugen gesehen haben, jene großen ZeichenZeichen und WunderWunder.3 The great temptations which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles:
3 Aber der HERR hat euch nicht ein HerzHerz gegeben, zu erkennen, und AugenAugen, zu sehen, und Ohren, zu hören, bis auf diesen TagTag.4 Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.
4 Und ich habe euch 40 JahreJahre in der WüsteWüste geführt: Eure KleiderKleider sind nicht an euch zerfallen, und dein Schuh ist nicht abgenutzt an deinem Fuß; 5 And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.
5 BrotBrot habt ihr nicht gegessen, und WeinWein und starkes Getränk habt ihr nicht getrunken; damit ihr erkänntet, dass ich der HERR, euer GottGott, bin.6 Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I am the LORD your God.
6 Und als ihr an diesen Ort kamt, da zogen SihonSihon, der König von HesbonHesbon, und OgOg, der König von BasanBasan, aus, uns entgegen zum KampfKampf, und wir schlugen sie;7 And when ye came unto this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, came out against us unto battle, and we smote them:
7 und wir nahmen ihr Land ein und gaben es den RubeniternRubenitern und den GaditernGaditern und dem halben Stamm der ManassiterManassiter zum ErbteilErbteil.8 And we took their land, and gave it for an inheritance unto the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half tribe of Manasseh.
8 So beobachtet denn die WorteWorte dieses BundesBundes und tut sie, damit ihr Gelingen habt in allem, was ihr tut. 9 Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.
9 Ihr steht heute allesamt vor dem HERRN, eurem GottGott: eure Häupter, eure StämmeStämme, eure Ältesten und eure VorsteherVorsteher, alle Männer von IsraelIsrael,10 Ye stand this day all of you before the LORD your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel,
10 eure KinderKinder, eure Frauen und dein FremderFremder, der inmitten deiner LagerLager ist, von deinem Holzhauer bis zu deinem Wasserschöpfer, 11 Your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water:
11 damit du in den BundBund des HERRN, deines GottesGottes, eintretest und in seinen Eidschwur, den der HERR, dein GottGott, heute mit dir macht; 12 That thou shouldest enter into covenant with the LORD thy God, and into his oath, which the LORD thy God maketh with thee this day:1
12 damit er dich heute als sein Volk bestätige1 und er dein GottGott sei, wie er zu dir geredet und wie er deinen VäternVätern AbrahamAbraham, IsaakIsaak und JakobJakob geschworen hat.13 That he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
13 Und nicht mit euch allein mache ich diesen BundBund und diesen Eidschwur, 14 Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath;
14 sondern mit dem, der heute hier ist, der mit uns vor dem HERRN, unserem GottGott, steht, und mit dem, der heute nicht mit uns hier ist.15 But with him that standeth here with us this day before the LORD our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day:
15 Denn ihr wisst ja, wie wir im Land Ägypten gewohnt haben und wie wir mitten durch die NationenNationen gezogen sind, durch die ihr gezogen seid;16 (For ye know how we have dwelt in the land of Egypt; and how we came through the nations which ye passed by;
16 und ihr habt ihre Scheusale gesehen und ihre Götzen2 von HolzHolz und Stein, SilberSilber und GoldGold, die bei ihnen sind,17 And ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them:)2
17 dass kein MannMann oder FrauFrau oder GeschlechtGeschlecht oder Stamm unter euch sei, dessen HerzHerz sich heute von dem HERRN, unserem GottGott, abwende, um hinzugehen, den GötternGöttern jener NationenNationen zu dienen; dass nicht eine Wurzel unter euch sei, die GiftGift und WermutWermut trage, 18 Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;3
18 und es geschehe, wenn er die WorteWorte dieses Eidschwures hört, dass er sich in seinem Herzen segne und spreche: Ich werde Frieden haben, wenn ich auch in der Verstocktheit meines Herzens wandle! Damit zugrunde gehe das Getränkte mit dem Durstigen. 19 And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:45
19 Nicht wird der HERR ihm vergebenvergeben wollen, sondern dann wird der ZornZorn des HERRN und sein EiferEifer rauchen gegen diesen MannMann; und der ganze FluchFluch, der in diesem BuchBuch geschrieben ist, wird auf ihm ruhen, und der HERR wird seinen NamenNamen unter dem HimmelHimmel austilgen;20 The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.
20 und der HERR wird ihn aus allen Stämmen IsraelsIsraels zum Unglück aussondern, nach all den Flüchen des BundesBundes, der in diesem BuchBuch des GesetzesGesetzes geschrieben ist. 21 And the LORD shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:6
21 Und das zukünftige GeschlechtGeschlecht, eure KinderKinder, die nach euch aufkommen werden, und der Ausländer, der aus fernem Land kommen wird, werden sagen, wenn sie die Plagen dieses Landes sehen und seine Krankheiten, womit der HERR es geschlagen hat,22 So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the LORD hath laid upon it;7
22 dass sein ganzes Land SchwefelSchwefel und SalzSalz, ein Brand, ist, dass es nicht besät wird und nichts sprossen lässt und keinerlei Kraut darin aufkommt, gleich der Umkehrung von SodomSodom und GomorraGomorra, AdamaAdama und ZeboimZeboim, die der HERR umkehrte in seinem ZornZorn und in seinem Grimm, –23 And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:
23 und alle NationenNationen werden sagen: Warum hat der HERR diesem Land so getan? Weshalb diese große Zornglut?24 Even all nations shall say, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?
24 Und man wird sagen: Weil sie den BundBund des HERRN, des GottesGottes ihrer VäterVäter, verlassen haben, den er mit ihnen gemacht hatte, als er sie aus dem Land Ägypten herausführte, 25 Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt:
25 und hingingen und anderen GötternGöttern dienten und sich vor ihnen niederbeugten, GötternGöttern, die sie nicht kannten und die er ihnen nicht zugeteilt hatte:26 For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them:89
26 da entbrannte der ZornZorn des HERRN über dieses Land, so dass er den ganzen FluchFluch über dasselbe gebracht hat, der in diesem BuchBuch geschrieben ist; 27 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book:
27 und der HERR hat sie herausgerissen aus ihrem Land im ZornZorn und im Grimm und in großem Unwillen, und hat sie in ein anderes Land geworfen, wie es an diesem TagTag ist.28 And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.
28 Das Verborgene ist des HERRN, unseres GottesGottes; aber das Offenbarte ist unser und unserer KinderKinder ewiglich, damit wir alle WorteWorte dieses GesetzesGesetzes tun. 29 The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
