1 Da konnte JosephJoseph sich nicht mehr bezwingen vor allen, die um ihn standen, und er rief: Lasst jedermann von mir hinausgehen! Und es stand niemand bei ihm, als JosephJoseph sich seinen BrüdernBrüdern zu erkennen gab.1 Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.
2 Und er erhob seine Stimme mit Weinen; und die Ägypter hörten es, und das HausHaus des PharaosPharaos hörte es.2 And he wept aloud: and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard.1
3 Und JosephJoseph sprach zu seinen BrüdernBrüdern: Ich bin JosephJoseph. Lebt mein VaterVater noch? Und seine BrüderBrüder konnten ihm nicht antworten, denn sie waren bestürzt1 vor ihm.3 And Joseph said unto his brethren, I am Joseph; doth my father yet live? And his brethren could not answer him; for they were troubled at his presence.2
4 Da sprach JosephJoseph zu seinen BrüdernBrüdern: Tretet doch zu mir her! Und sie traten herzu. Und er sprach: Ich bin JosephJoseph, euer BruderBruder, den ihr nach Ägypten verkauft habt.4 And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.
5 Und nun betrübt euch nicht, und es entbrenne nicht in euren AugenAugen, dass ihr mich hierher verkauft habt; denn zur Erhaltung des LebensLebens hat GottGott mich vor euch hergesandt. 5 Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.3
6 Denn schon zwei JahreJahre ist die HungersnotHungersnot im Land, und noch sind fünf JahreJahre, dass kein PflügenPflügen noch Ernten sein wird. 6 For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest.
7 Und GottGott hat mich vor euch hergesandt, um euch einen Überrest zu setzen auf der ErdeErde und euch am LebenLeben zu erhalten für2 eine große ErrettungErrettung.7 And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.4
8 Und nun, nicht ihr habt mich hierher gesandt, sondern GottGott; und er hat mich zum VaterVater des PharaosPharaos gemacht und zum HerrnHerrn seines ganzen Hauses und zum Herrscher über das ganze Land Ägypten.8 So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
9 Eilt und zieht hinauf zu meinem VaterVater und sprecht zu ihm: So spricht dein SohnSohn JosephJoseph: GottGott hat mich zum HerrnHerrn von ganz Ägypten gemacht; komm zu mir herab, säume nicht! 9 Haste ye, and go up to my father, and say unto him, Thus saith thy son Joseph, God hath made me lord of all Egypt: come down unto me, tarry not:
10 Und du sollst im Land GosenGosen wohnen und nahe bei mir sein, du und deine Söhne und die Söhne deiner Söhne und dein Kleinvieh und deine RinderRinder und alles, was du hast.10 And thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen, and thou shalt be near unto me, thou, and thy children, and thy children's children, and thy flocks, and thy herds, and all that thou hast:
11 Und ich will dich dort versorgen, denn noch fünf JahreJahre ist HungersnotHungersnot; dass du nicht verarmst, du und dein HausHaus und alles, was du hast. 11 And there will I nourish thee; for yet there are five years of famine; lest thou, and thy household, and all that thou hast, come to poverty.
12 Und siehe, eure AugenAugen sehen es und die AugenAugen meines BrudersBruders BenjaminBenjamin, dass mein Mund es ist, der zu euch redet.12 And, behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaketh unto you.
13 Und berichtet meinem VaterVater alle meine HerrlichkeitHerrlichkeit in Ägypten, und alles, was ihr gesehen habt; und eilt und bringt meinen VaterVater hierher herab.13 And ye shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that ye have seen; and ye shall haste and bring down my father hither.
14 Und er fiel seinem BruderBruder BenjaminBenjamin um den Hals und weinte; und BenjaminBenjamin weinte an seinem Hals.14 And he fell upon his brother Benjamin's neck, and wept; and Benjamin wept upon his neck.
15 Und er küsste alle seine BrüderBrüder und weinte an ihnen; und danach redeten seine BrüderBrüder mit ihm.15 Moreover he kissed all his brethren, and wept upon them: and after that his brethren talked with him.
16 Und die Nachricht wurde im HausHaus des PharaosPharaos gehört, indem man sprach: JosephsJosephs BrüderBrüder sind gekommen! Und es war gut in den AugenAugen des PharaosPharaos und in den AugenAugen seiner KnechteKnechte. 16 And the fame thereof was heard in Pharaoh's house, saying, Joseph's brethren are come: and it pleased Pharaoh well, and his servants.5
17 Und der PharaoPharao sprach zu JosephJoseph: Sage deinen BrüdernBrüdern: Tut dieses: Beladet eure TiereTiere und zieht hin, geht nach dem Land KanaanKanaan, 17 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Say unto thy brethren, This do ye; lade your beasts, and go, get you unto the land of Canaan;
18 und nehmt euren VaterVater und eure HaushaltungenHaushaltungen und kommt zu mir; und ich will euch das Beste des Landes Ägypten geben, und ihr sollt das FettFett des Landes essen. 18 And take your father and your households, and come unto me: and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and ye shall eat the fat of the land.
19 Und du bist beauftragt: Tut dieses: nehmt euch aus dem Land Ägypten WagenWagen für eure KinderKinder und für eure Frauen, und holt euren VaterVater und kommt. 19 Now thou art commanded, this do ye; take you wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your father, and come.
20 Und lasst es euch nicht leid sein um euren Hausrat, denn das Beste des ganzen Landes Ägypten soll euer sein. 20 Also regard not your stuff; for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours.6
21 Und die Söhne IsraelsIsraels taten so, und JosephJoseph gab ihnen WagenWagen nach dem Befehl des PharaosPharaos, und gab ihnen Zehrung auf den Weg.21 And the children of Israel did so: and Joseph gave them wagons, according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them provision for the way.7
22 Er gab ihnen allen, jedem, Wechselkleider, und BenjaminBenjamin gab er 300 Silbersekel und 5 Wechselkleider.22 To all of them he gave each man changes of raiment; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver, and five changes of raiment.
23 Und seinem VaterVater sandte er dieses3: 10 EselEsel, beladen mit dem Besten Ägyptens, und 10 Eselinnen, beladen mit Getreide und BrotBrot und Nahrung für seinen VaterVater auf den Weg.23 And to his father he sent after this manner; ten asses laden with the good things of Egypt, and ten she asses laden with corn and bread and meat for his father by the way.8
24 Und er entließ seine BrüderBrüder, und sie zogen hin; und er sprach zu ihnen: Erzürnt euch nicht auf dem Weg!24 So he sent his brethren away, and they departed: and he said unto them, See that ye fall not out by the way.
25 Und sie zogen aus Ägypten hinauf und kamen in das Land KanaanKanaan zu ihrem VaterVater JakobJakob.25 And they went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Canaan unto Jacob their father,
26 Und sie berichteten ihm und sprachen: JosephJoseph lebt noch, und er ist Herrscher über das ganze Land Ägypten. Da erstarrte sein HerzHerz, denn er glaubte ihnen nicht.26 And told him, saying, Joseph is yet alive, and he is governor over all the land of Egypt. And Jacob's heart fainted, for he believed them not.9
27 Und sie redeten zu ihm alle WorteWorte JosephsJosephs, die er zu ihnen geredet hatte; und er sah die WagenWagen, die JosephJoseph gesandt hatte, ihn zu holen. Und der GeistGeist ihres VatersVaters JakobJakob lebte auf;27 And they told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said unto them: and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived:
28 und IsraelIsrael sprach: Genug! JosephJoseph, mein SohnSohn, lebt noch! Ich will hinziehen und ihn sehen, ehe ich sterbe.28 And Israel said, It is enough; Joseph my son is yet alive: I will go and see him before I die.
