1 Und AbrahamAbraham nahm wieder eine FrauFrau, mit NamenNamen KeturaKetura.1 Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah.
2 Und sie gebar ihm SimranSimran und JokschanJokschan und MedanMedan und MidianMidian und JischbakJischbak und SchuachSchuach.2 And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.
3 Und JokschanJokschan zeugtezeugte SchebaScheba und DedanDedan; und die Söhne DedansDedans waren die AssuriterAssuriter und LetuschimLetuschim und LeummiterLeummiter.3 And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.
4 Und die Söhne MidiansMidians: EphaEpha und EpherEpher und HanokHanok und AbidaAbida und Eldaba. Diese alle waren Söhne der KeturaKetura. 4 And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.
5 Und AbrahamAbraham gab dem IsaakIsaak alles, was er hatte.5 And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.
6 Und den Söhnen der Nebenfrauen1, die AbrahamAbraham hatte, gab AbrahamAbraham GeschenkeGeschenke; und er ließ sie, während er noch lebte, von seinem SohnSohn IsaakIsaak wegziehen nach OstenOsten, in das Land des OstensOstens.6 But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.
7 Und dies sind die TageTage der LebensjahreLebensjahre AbrahamsAbrahams, die er gelebt hat: 175 JahreJahre.7 And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years.
8 Und AbrahamAbraham verschied und starb in gutem Alter, alt und der TageTage satt, und wurde versammelt zu seinen Völkern.8 Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.
9 Und seine Söhne IsaakIsaak und IsmaelIsmael begruben ihn in der Höhle von MachpelaMachpela, auf dem Feld EphronsEphrons, des SohnesSohnes ZoharsZohars, des HethitersHethiters, das vor MamreMamre liegt,9 And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre;
10 dem Feld, das AbrahamAbraham von den KindernKindern HethHeth gekauft hatte; dort wurden AbrahamAbraham und seine FrauFrau SaraSara begraben.10 The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.
11 Und es geschah nach dem TodTod AbrahamsAbrahams, da segnete GottGott IsaakIsaak, seinen SohnSohn; und IsaakIsaak wohnte bei dem BrunnenBrunnen Lachai-RoiLachai-Roi.11 And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahairoi.
12 Und dies sind die GeschlechterGeschlechter IsmaelsIsmaels, des SohnesSohnes AbrahamsAbrahams, den HagarHagar, die Ägypterin, die MagdMagd SarasSaras, dem AbrahamAbraham geboren hat;12 Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bare unto Abraham:
13 und dies sind die NamenNamen der Söhne IsmaelsIsmaels mit ihren NamenNamen, nach ihren GeschlechternGeschlechtern: Der Erstgeborene IsmaelsIsmaels: NebajotNebajot, und KedarKedar und AdbeelAdbeel und MibsamMibsam13 And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
14 und MischmaMischma und DumaDuma und MassaMassa,14 And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,
15 HadadHadad und TemaTema, JeturJetur, NaphischNaphisch und KedmaKedma.15 Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:1
16 Das sind die Söhne IsmaelsIsmaels, und das ihre NamenNamen in ihren Gehöften und in ihren Zeltlagern; zwölf Fürsten nach ihren Stämmen.16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations.
17 Und dies sind die LebensjahreLebensjahre IsmaelsIsmaels: 137 JahreJahre; und er verschied und starb und wurde versammelt zu seinen Völkern.17 And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people.
18 Und sie wohnten von Hawila2 bis SurSur, das vor3 Ägypten liegt, nach AssyrienAssyrien hin. Er ließ sich nieder angesichts4 aller seiner BrüderBrüder.18 And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren.2
19 Und dies sind die GeschlechterGeschlechter IsaaksIsaaks, des SohnesSohnes AbrahamsAbrahams: AbrahamAbraham zeugtezeugte IsaakIsaak.19 And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham begat Isaac:
20 Und IsaakIsaak war 40 JahreJahre alt, als er sich RebekkaRebekka zur FrauFrau nahm, die TochterTochter BethuelsBethuels, des Aramäers aus Paddan-Aram5, die Schwester LabansLabans, des Aramäers.20 And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.
21 Und IsaakIsaak bat den HERRN für seine FrauFrau, denn sie war unfruchtbar; und der HERR ließ sich von ihm erbitten, und RebekkaRebekka, seine FrauFrau, wurde schwanger.21 And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
22 Und die KinderKinder stießen sich in ihr; und sie sprach: Wenn es so steht, warum bin ich dies6? Und sie ging hin, den HERRN zu befragen. 22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD.
23 Und der HERR sprach zu ihr:Zwei NationenNationen sind in deinem Leib, und zwei Völkerschaften werden sich scheiden aus deinem Innern; und eine Völkerschaft wird stärker sein als die andere, und der Ältere wird dem Jüngeren dienen.23 And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.
24 Und als ihre TageTage erfüllt waren, dass sie gebären sollte, siehe, da waren ZwillingeZwillinge in ihrem Leib.24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
25 Und der erste kam heraus, rötlich, am ganzen Leib wie ein härener MantelMantel; und man gab ihm den NamenNamen Esau7.25 And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.
26 Und danach kam sein BruderBruder heraus, und seine Hand hielt die Ferse EsausEsaus; und man gab ihm den NamenNamen Jakob8. Und IsaakIsaak war 60 JahreJahre alt, als sie geboren wurden.26 And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.
27 Und die Knaben wuchsen heran. Und EsauEsau wurde ein jagdkundiger MannMann, ein MannMann des Feldes; JakobJakob aber war ein sanfter9 MannMann, der in den Zelten blieb.27 And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.
28 Und IsaakIsaak hatte EsauEsau lieb, denn Wildbret war nach seinem Mund; RebekkaRebekka aber hatte JakobJakob lieb.28 And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.3
29 Und JakobJakob kochte ein GerichtGericht; und EsauEsau kam vom Feld und war matt. 29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:
30 Da sprach EsauEsau zu JakobJakob: Lass mich doch essen10 von dem Roten, dem Roten da, denn ich bin matt! Darum gab man ihm den NamenNamen Edom11. 30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.45
31 Und JakobJakob sprach: Verkaufe mir heute12 dein ErstgeburtsrechtErstgeburtsrecht.31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.
32 Und EsauEsau sprach: Siehe, ich gehe hin zu sterben, und wozu mir da das ErstgeburtsrechtErstgeburtsrecht?32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?6
33 Und JakobJakob sprach: Schwöre mir heute13! Und er schwur ihm und verkaufte sein ErstgeburtsrechtErstgeburtsrecht dem JakobJakob.33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
34 Und JakobJakob gab EsauEsau BrotBrot und ein GerichtGericht LinsenLinsen; und er aß und trank und stand auf und ging davon. So verachtete EsauEsau das ErstgeburtsrechtErstgeburtsrecht.34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.
