1 Und das WortWort des HERRN erging an mich, indem er sprach:1 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 Menschensohn, rede zu den KindernKindern deines Volkes und sprich zu ihnen: Wenn ich das SchwertSchwert über ein Land bringe, und das Volk des Landes einen MannMann aus seiner Gesamtheit nimmt und ihn für sich zum Wächter setzt,2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:1
3 und er sieht das SchwertSchwert über das Land kommen und stößt in die Posaune und warnt das Volk: –3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
4 wenn einer den Schall der Posaune hört und sich nicht warnen lässt, so dass das SchwertSchwert kommt und ihn wegrafft, so wird sein BlutBlut auf seinem KopfKopf sein.4 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.2
5 Er hat den Schall der Posaune gehört und hat sich nicht warnen lassen: Sein BlutBlut wird auf ihm sein; denn hätte er sich warnen lassen, so würde er seine SeeleSeele errettet haben.5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.
6 Wenn aber der Wächter das SchwertSchwert kommen sieht, und er stößt nicht in die Posaune, und das Volk wird nicht gewarnt, so dass das SchwertSchwert kommt und von ihnen eine SeeleSeele wegrafft, so wird dieser wegen seiner Ungerechtigkeit weggerafft; aber sein BlutBlut werde ich von der Hand des Wächters fordern.6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.
7 Du nun, Menschensohn, ich habe dich dem HausHaus IsraelIsrael zum Wächter gesetzt: Du sollst das WortWort aus meinem Mund hören und sie von meinetwegen warnen. 7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
8 Wenn ich zu dem Gottlosen spreche: Gottloser, du sollst gewisslich sterben!, und du redest nicht, um den Gottlosen vor seinem Weg zu warnen, so wird er, der Gottlose, wegen seiner1 Ungerechtigkeit sterben; aber sein BlutBlut werde ich von deiner Hand fordern. 8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
9 Wenn du aber den Gottlosen vor seinem Weg warnst, damit er von demselben umkehre, und er von seinem Weg nicht umkehrt, so wird er wegen seiner Ungerechtigkeit sterben; du aber hast deine SeeleSeele errettet.9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
10 Und du, Menschensohn, sprich zu dem HausHaus IsraelIsrael: So sprecht ihr und sagt: Unsere Übertretungen und unsere Sünden sind auf uns, und in denselben2 schwinden wir dahin; wie könnten wir denn leben? 10 Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?
11 Sprich zu ihnen: So wahr ich lebe, spricht der HerrHerr, HERRHERR, ich habe kein Gefallen am TodTod des Gottlosen, sondern dass der Gottlose von seinem Weg umkehre und lebe! Kehrt um, kehrt um von euren bösen Wegen! Denn warum wollt ihr sterben, HausHaus IsraelIsrael?11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
12 Und du, Menschensohn, sprich zu den KindernKindern deines Volkes: Die GerechtigkeitGerechtigkeit des Gerechten wird ihn nicht erretten am TagTag seiner Übertretung; und die Gottlosigkeit des Gottlosen – er wird nicht durch dieselbe fallen an dem TagTag, da er von seiner Gottlosigkeit umkehrt; und der Gerechte wird nicht durch seine GerechtigkeitGerechtigkeit3 leben können an dem TagTag, da er sündigt.12 Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.
13 Wenn ich dem Gerechten sage, dass er gewisslich leben soll, und er verlässt sich auf seine GerechtigkeitGerechtigkeit und tut unrecht, so wird aller seiner gerechten Taten4 nicht gedacht werden, und wegen seines Unrechts, das er getan hat, deswegen wird er sterben.13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.
14 Wenn ich aber zu dem Gottlosen spreche: Du sollst gewisslich sterben!, und er kehrt von seiner SündeSünde um und übt Recht und GerechtigkeitGerechtigkeit, 14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;3
15 so dass der Gottlose das PfandPfand zurückgibt, Geraubtes erstattet, in den SatzungenSatzungen des LebensLebens wandelt, ohne unrecht zu tun, so soll er gewisslich leben, er soll nicht sterben;15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
16 aller seiner Sünden, die er begangen hat, soll ihm nicht gedacht werden; Recht und GerechtigkeitGerechtigkeit hat er geübt: Er soll gewisslich leben.16 None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.
17 Und die KinderKinder deines Volkes sprechen: Der Weg des HerrnHerrn ist nicht recht; aber ihr Weg ist nicht recht.17 Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.
18 Wenn der Gerechte von seiner GerechtigkeitGerechtigkeit umkehrt und unrecht tut, so wird er deswegen sterben.18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.
19 Und wenn der Gottlose von seiner Gottlosigkeit umkehrt und Recht und GerechtigkeitGerechtigkeit übt, so wird er deswegen leben. 19 But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.
20 Und doch sprecht ihr: Der Weg des HERRN ist nicht recht. Ich werde euch richten, jeden nach seinen Wegen, HausHaus IsraelIsrael.20 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.
21 Und es geschah im 12. JahrJahr unserer WegführungWegführung, im 10. Monat, am 5. des Monats, da kam ein Entkommener aus JerusalemJerusalem zu mir und sprach: Die Stadt ist geschlagen! 21 And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten.
22 Und die Hand des HERRN war am AbendAbend über mich gekommen vor der AnkunftAnkunft des Entkommenen, und er hatte meinen Mund aufgetan, bis jener am MorgenMorgen zu mir kam; und so war mein Mund aufgetan, und ich verstummte nicht mehr5. 22 Now the hand of the LORD was upon me in the evening, afore he that was escaped came; and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb.
23 Und das WortWort des HERRN erging an mich, indem er sprach:23 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
24 Menschensohn, die Bewohner jener Trümmer im Land IsraelIsrael sprechen und sagen: AbrahamAbraham war ein Einzelner, und er erhielt das Land zum Besitztum; wir aber sind viele, uns ist das Land zum Besitztum gegeben!24 Son of man, they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.
25 Darum sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der HerrHerr, HERRHERR: Ihr esst mit dem BlutBlut, und erhebt eure AugenAugen zu euren Götzen und vergießt BlutBlut, und ihr solltet das Land besitzen?25 Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?
26 Ihr stützt euch auf euer SchwertSchwert, verübt GräuelGräuel und verunreinigt einer des anderen FrauFrau, und ihr solltet das Land besitzen?26 Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour's wife: and shall ye possess the land?
27 So sollst du zu ihnen sprechen: So spricht der HerrHerr, HERRHERR: So wahr ich lebe, die, die in den Trümmern sind, sollen durchs SchwertSchwert fallen; und wer auf dem freien Feld ist, den gebe ich den wilden Tieren hin, dass sie ihn fressen; und die in den FestungenFestungen und in den HöhlenHöhlen sind, sollen an der PestPest sterben! 27 Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.4
28 Und ich werde das Land zur WüsteWüste und VerwüstungVerwüstung machen, und der Stolz seiner Stärke6 wird ein Ende haben; und die BergeBerge IsraelsIsraels werden wüst sein, so dass niemand darüber hinwandert.28 For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through.5
29 Und sie werden wissen7, dass ich der HERR bin, wenn ich das Land zur WüsteWüste und VerwüstungVerwüstung mache wegen all ihrer GräuelGräuel, die sie verübt haben. 29 Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.
30 Und du, Menschensohn, die KinderKinder deines Volkes unterreden sich über dich an den Wänden und in den Türen der Häuser; und einer redet mit dem anderen, jeder mit seinem BruderBruder und spricht: Kommt doch und hört, was für ein WortWort von dem HERRN ausgeht.30 Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD.6
31 Und sie kommen scharenweise8 zu dir, und sitzen vor dir als mein Volk und hören deine WorteWorte, aber sie tun sie nicht; sondern sie tun, was ihrem Mund angenehm ist9, ihr HerzHerz geht ihrem GewinnGewinn nach.31 And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.789
32 Und siehe, du bist ihnen wie ein liebliches Lied, wie einer, der eine schöne Stimme hat und gut zu spielen versteht; und sie hören deine WorteWorte, doch sie tun sie nicht.32 And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.10
33 Wenn es aber kommt – siehe, es kommt! – so werden sie wissen, dass ein ProphetProphet in ihrer Mitte war.33 And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.
