1 Du sollst kein falsches Gerücht aufnehmen1; du sollst deine Hand nicht dem Gottlosen reichen, um ein ungerechter Zeuge zu sein.1 Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.1
2 Du sollst der Menge nicht folgen, um Böses zu tun; und du sollst bei einem Rechtsstreit nicht antworten, indem du dich der Menge nach neigst, das Recht zu beugen. 2 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:2
3 Und den Armen sollst du in seinem Rechtsstreit nicht begünstigen. 3 Neither shalt thou countenance a poor man in his cause.
4 Wenn du den Ochsen deines Feindes oder seinen EselEsel umherirrend antriffst, sollst du ihn demselben jedenfalls zurückbringen.4 If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.
5 Wenn du den EselEsel deines Hassers unter seiner LastLast liegen siehst, so hüte dich, ihn demselben zu überlassen; du sollst ihn jedenfalls mit ihm losmachen.5 If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, and wouldest forbear to help him, thou shalt surely help with him.3
6 Du sollst das Recht deines Armen nicht beugen in seinem Rechtsstreit.6 Thou shalt not wrest the judgment of thy poor in his cause.
7 Von der Sache2 der Lüge sollst du dich fernhalten; und den Unschuldigen und Gerechten sollst du nicht töten, denn ich werde den Gottlosen3 nicht rechtfertigen.7 Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.
8 Und kein Geschenk sollst du nehmen; denn das Geschenk blendet die Sehenden und verkehrt die WorteWorte der Gerechten.8 And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous.4
9 Und den Fremden sollst du nicht bedrücken; ihr selbst wisst ja, wie es dem Fremden zu Mute ist, denn Fremde seid ihr im Land Ägypten gewesen. 9 Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.5
10 Und sechs JahreJahre sollst du dein Land besäen und seinen Ertrag einsammeln;10 And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof:
11 aber im siebten sollst du es ruhen und liegen lassen, dass die Armen deines Volkes davon essen; und was sie übriglassen, sollen die TiereTiere des Feldes fressen. Desgleichen sollst du mit deinem WeinbergWeinberg tun und mit deinem OlivenbaumOlivenbaum. 11 But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy oliveyard.6
12 Sechs TageTage sollst du deine Arbeiten tun; aber am siebten TagTag sollst du ruhen, damit dein OchseOchse und dein EselEsel raste, und der SohnSohn deiner MagdMagd und der Fremde sich erhole.12 Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.
13 Und auf alles, was ich euch gesagt habe, sollt ihr acht haben; und den NamenNamen anderer GötterGötter sollt ihr nicht erwähnen, er soll in deinem Mund nicht gehört werden.13 And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.
14 Dreimal im JahrJahr sollst du mir ein Fest feiern.14 Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.
15 Das Fest der ungesäuerten BroteBrote sollst du beobachten: SiebenSieben TageTage sollst du Ungesäuertes essen, so wie ich dir geboten habe, zur bestimmten ZeitZeit im Monat AbibAbib, denn in demselben bist du aus Ägypten gezogen; und man soll nicht leer vor meinem Angesicht erscheinen; 15 Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:)
16 und das Fest der ErnteErnte, der ErstlingeErstlinge deiner Arbeit, dessen, was du auf dem Feld säen wirst; und das Fest der Einsammlung im Ausgang des JahresJahres, wenn du deine Arbeit vom Feld einsammelst.16 And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.
17 Dreimal im JahrJahr sollen alle deine Männlichen vor dem Angesicht des HerrnHerrn, HERRNHERRN, erscheinen.17 Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord GOD.
18 Du sollst nicht das BlutBlut meines SchlachtopfersSchlachtopfers zu Gesäuertem opfern; und nicht soll das FettFett meines FestesFestes über NachtNacht bleiben bis an den MorgenMorgen.18 Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the fat of my sacrifice remain until the morning.7
19 Das Erste der ErstlingeErstlinge deines Landes sollst du in das HausHaus des HERRN, deines GottesGottes, bringen. – Du sollst ein Böckchen nicht kochen in der MilchMilch seiner MutterMutter.19 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.
20 Siehe, ich sende einen EngelEngel vor dir her, um dich auf dem Weg zu bewahren und dich an den Ort zu bringen, den ich bereitet habe.20 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.
21 Hüte dich vor ihm und höre auf seine Stimme und reize ihn nicht4; denn er wird eure Übertretung nicht vergebenvergeben, denn mein Name ist in ihm.21 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.
22 Doch wenn du fleißig auf seine Stimme hörst und alles tust, was ich sagen werde, so werde ich deine Feinde befeinden und deine Dränger bedrängen. 22 But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries.8
23 Denn mein EngelEngel wird vor dir hergehen und wird dich bringen zu den AmoriternAmoritern und den HethiternHethitern und den PerisiternPerisitern und den KanaaniternKanaanitern, den HewiternHewitern und den JebusiternJebusitern; und ich werde sie vertilgen.23 For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off.
24 Du sollst dich vor ihren GötternGöttern nicht niederbeugen und ihnen nicht dienen, und du sollst nicht tun nach ihren Taten; sondern du sollst sie ganz und gar niederreißen und ihre Bildsäulen gänzlich zerbrechen. 24 Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.
25 Und ihr sollt dem HERRN, eurem GottGott, dienen: So wird er dein BrotBrot und dein Wasser segnen, und ich werde KrankheitKrankheit aus deiner Mitte entfernen.25 And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
26 Keine Fehlgebärende und Unfruchtbare wird in deinem Land sein; die Zahl deiner TageTage werde ich voll machen. 26 There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.
27 Meinen Schrecken werde ich vor dir hersenden und alle Völker verwirren, zu denen du kommst, und dir zukehren den Rücken aller deiner Feinde.27 I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.9
28 Und ich werde die HornisseHornisse vor dir hersenden, dass sie vor dir vertreibe die HewiterHewiter, die KanaaniterKanaaniter und die HethiterHethiter. 28 And I will send hornets before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee.
29 Nicht in einem JahrJahr werde ich sie vor dir vertreiben, damit nicht das Land eine WüsteWüste werde, und die TiereTiere des Feldes sich gegen dich vermehren.29 I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee.
30 Nach und nach werde ich sie vor dir vertreiben, bis du fruchtbar bist, und das Land besitzt.30 By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land.
31 Und ich werde deine Grenze setzen vom SchilfmeerSchilfmeer bis an das MeerMeer der PhilisterPhilister, und von der WüsteWüste bis an den Strom5; denn ich werde die Bewohner des Landes in deine Hand geben, dass du sie vor dir vertreibst.31 And I will set thy bounds from the Red sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert unto the river: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand; and thou shalt drive them out before thee.
32 Du sollst mit ihnen und mit ihren GötternGöttern keinen BundBund machen. 32 Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.
33 Sie sollen nicht in deinem Land wohnen, damit sie dich nicht gegen mich sündigen machen; denn du würdest ihren GötternGöttern dienen, denn es würde dir zum FallstrickFallstrick sein.33 They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.
