1 Im dritten Monat nach dem AuszugAuszug der KinderKinder IsraelIsrael aus dem Land Ägypten, an genau diesem TagTag kamen sie in die WüsteWüste SinaiSinai: 1 In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai.
2 Sie brachen auf von RephidimRephidim und kamen in die WüsteWüste SinaiSinai und lagerten sich in der WüsteWüste; und IsraelIsrael lagerte sich dort dem BergBerg gegenüber.2 For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount.
3 Und MoseMose stieg hinauf zu GottGott; und der HERR rief ihm vom BergBerg zu und sprach: So sollst du zum HausHaus JakobJakob sprechen und den KindernKindern IsraelIsrael mitteilen: 3 And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;
4 Ihr habt gesehen, was ich an den Ägyptern getan habe, wie ich euch getragen auf AdlersAdlers Flügeln und euch zu mir gebracht habe.4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.
5 Und nun, wenn ihr fleißig auf meine Stimme hören und meinen BundBund halten werdet, so sollt ihr mein Eigentum sein aus1 allen Völkern; denn die ganze ErdeErde ist mein;5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
6 und ihr sollt mir ein Königreich von PriesternPriestern und eine heilige Nation sein. Das sind die WorteWorte, die du zu den KindernKindern IsraelIsrael reden sollst.6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
7 Und MoseMose kam und rief die Ältesten des Volkes und legte ihnen alle diese WorteWorte vor, die der HERR ihm geboten hatte.7 And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him.
8 Da antwortete das ganze Volk insgesamt und sprach: Alles, was der HERR geredet hat, wollen wir tun! Und MoseMose brachte die WorteWorte des Volkes zu dem HERRN zurück.8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.
9 Und der HERR sprach zu MoseMose: Siehe, ich werde zu dir kommen im Dunkel des Gewölks, damit das Volk höre, wenn ich mit dir rede, und dir auch glaube ewiglich. Und MoseMose tat dem HERRN die WorteWorte des Volkes kund. 9 And the LORD said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people unto the LORD.
10 Und der HERR sprach zu MoseMose: Geh zum Volk und heilige sie heute und morgen, und dass sie ihre KleiderKleider waschen;10 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes,
11 und sie seien bereit auf den dritten TagTag; denn am dritten TagTag wird der HERR vor den AugenAugen des ganzen Volkes auf den BergBerg SinaiSinai herabsteigen.11 And be ready against the third day: for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.
12 Und mache eine Grenze um das Volk ringsum und sprich: Hütet euch, auf den BergBerg zu steigen und sein Äußerstes anzurühren; alles, was den BergBerg anrührt, soll gewisslich getötet werden 12 And thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shall be surely put to death:
13 – keine Hand soll ihn anrühren – denn es soll gewisslich gesteinigt oder erschossen2 werden; ob ViehVieh oder MenschMensch, es darf nicht leben. Wenn das Lärmhorn3 anhaltend ertönt, sollen sie gegen den BergBerg hinansteigen. 13 There shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live: when the trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the mount.1
14 Und MoseMose stieg vom BergBerg zu dem Volk hinab; und er heiligte das Volk, und sie wuschen ihre KleiderKleider. 14 And Moses went down from the mount unto the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.
15 Und er sprach zu dem Volk: Seid bereit auf den dritten TagTag; naht nicht zur FrauFrau. 15 And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not at your wives.
16 Und es geschah am dritten TagTag, als es MorgenMorgen war, da waren DonnerDonner und Blitze und eine schwere WolkeWolke auf dem BergBerg und ein sehr starker Posaunenschall; und das ganze Volk zitterte, das im LagerLager war. 16 And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.
17 Und MoseMose führte das Volk aus dem LagerLager hinaus, GottGott entgegen; und sie stellten sich auf am Fuß des BergesBerges.17 And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.
18 Und der ganze BergBerg SinaiSinai rauchte, weil der HERR auf ihn herabstieg im FeuerFeuer; und sein Rauch stieg auf wie der Rauch eines SchmelzofensSchmelzofens, und der ganze BergBerg bebte sehr.18 And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.
19 Und der Posaunenschall wurde fort und fort stärker; MoseMose redete, und GottGott antwortete ihm mit einer Stimme4. 19 And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.
20 Und der HERR stieg auf den BergBerg SinaiSinai herab, auf den Gipfel des BergesBerges; und der HERR rief MoseMose auf den Gipfel des BergesBerges, und MoseMose stieg hinauf.20 And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.
21 Und der HERR sprach zu MoseMose: Steige hinab, warne das Volk, dass sie nicht zu dem HERRN durchbrechen, um zu schauen, und viele von ihnen fallen.21 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through unto the LORD to gaze, and many of them perish.2
22 Und auch die PriesterPriester, die zu dem HERRN nahen, sollen sich heiligen, dass der HERR nicht in sie einbreche.22 And let the priests also, which come near to the LORD, sanctify themselves, lest the LORD break forth upon them.
23 Und MoseMose sprach zu dem HERRN: Das Volk wird den BergBerg SinaiSinai nicht ersteigen können; denn du hast uns ja gewarnt und gesagt: Mache eine Grenze um den BergBerg und heilige ihn.23 And Moses said unto the LORD, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai: for thou chargedst us, saying, Set bounds about the mount, and sanctify it.
24 Und der HERR sprach zu ihm: Geh, steige hinab, und du sollst heraufkommen, du und AaronAaron mit dir; aber die PriesterPriester und das Volk sollen nicht durchbrechen, um zu dem HERRN hinaufzusteigen, dass er nicht in sie einbreche.24 And the LORD said unto him, Away, get thee down, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests and the people break through to come up unto the LORD, lest he break forth upon them.
25 Da stieg MoseMose zu dem Volk hinab und sagte es ihnen. 25 So Moses went down unto the people, and spake unto them.
