1 Da traten herzu alle Heerobersten und JochananJochanan, der SohnSohn KareachsKareachs, und JesanjaJesanja, der SohnSohn HoschajasHoschajas, und das ganze Volk, vom Kleinsten bis zum Größten,1 Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even unto the greatest, came near,
2 und sprachen zu dem ProphetenPropheten JeremiaJeremia: Lass doch unser FlehenFlehen vor dich kommen, und bete für uns zu dem HERRN, deinem GottGott, für diesen ganzen Überrest; denn wenige sind wir übriggeblieben von vielen, wie deine AugenAugen uns sehen: 2 And said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we beseech thee, our supplication be accepted before thee, and pray for us unto the LORD thy God, even for all this remnant; (for we are left but a few of many, as thine eyes do behold us:)1
3 damit der HERR, dein GottGott, uns den Weg kundtue, auf dem wir gehen, und die Sache, die wir tun sollen.3 That the LORD thy God may shew us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do.
4 Und der ProphetProphet JeremiaJeremia sprach zu ihnen: Ich habe es gehört; siehe, ich will zu dem HERRN, eurem GottGott, betenbeten nach euren Worten; und es soll geschehen, jedes WortWort, das der HERR euch antworten wird, werde ich euch mitteilen, ich werde euch kein WortWort vorenthalten. 4 Then Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard you; behold, I will pray unto the LORD your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatsoever thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare it unto you; I will keep nothing back from you.
5 Und sie sprachen zu JeremiaJeremia: Der HERR sei gegen uns ein wahrhaftiger und zuverlässiger Zeuge, wenn wir nicht nach jedem WortWort, womit der HERR, dein GottGott, dich zu uns senden wird, so tun werden.5 Then they said to Jeremiah, The LORD be a true and faithful witness between us, if we do not even according to all things for the which the LORD thy God shall send thee to us.
6 Es sei Gutes oder Böses, wir wollen hören auf die Stimme des HERRN, unseres GottesGottes, an den wir dich senden; damit es uns wohlgehe, wenn wir auf die Stimme des HERRN, unseres GottesGottes, hören. 6 Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God.
7 Und es geschah am Ende von 10 Tagen, da geschah das WortWort des HERRN zu JeremiaJeremia. 7 And it came to pass after ten days, that the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah.
8 Und er berief JochananJochanan, den SohnSohn KareachsKareachs, und alle Heerobersten, die mit ihm waren, und das ganze Volk, vom Kleinsten bis zum Größten, 8 Then called he Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces which were with him, and all the people from the least even to the greatest,
9 und sprach zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR, der GottGott IsraelsIsraels, zu dem ihr mich gesandt habt, um euer FlehenFlehen vor ihn kommen zu lassen:9 And said unto them, Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto whom ye sent me to present your supplication before him;
10 Wenn ihr in diesem Land wohnen bleibt, so werde ich euch bauen und nicht abbrechen und euch pflanzen und nicht ausreißen; denn es reut mich des Übels, das ich euch getan habe.10 If ye will still abide in this land, then will I build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up: for I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you.
11 Fürchtet euch nicht vor dem König von BabelBabel, vor dem ihr euch fürchtet; fürchtet euch nicht vor ihm, spricht der HERR; denn ich bin mit euch, um euch aus seiner Hand zu retten und zu befreien.11 Be not afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom ye are afraid; be not afraid of him, saith the LORD: for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand.
12 Und ich werde euch BarmherzigkeitBarmherzigkeit zuwenden, dass er sich euer erbarme und euch in euer Land zurückkehren lasse.12 And I will shew mercies unto you, that he may have mercy upon you, and cause you to return to your own land.
13 Wenn ihr aber sprecht: Wir wollen nicht in diesem Land bleiben; so dass ihr nicht hört auf die Stimme des HERRN, eures GottesGottes,13 But if ye say, We will not dwell in this land, neither obey the voice of the LORD your God,
14 und sprecht: Nein, sondern wir wollen in das Land Ägypten ziehen, wo wir keinen Krieg sehen und den Schall der Posaune nicht hören und nicht nach BrotBrot hungern werden, und dort wollen wir wohnen –14 Saying, No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread; and there will we dwell:
15 nun denn, darum hört das WortWort des HERRN, ihr Überrest von JudaJuda! So spricht der HERR der HeerscharenHeerscharen, der GottGott IsraelsIsraels: Wenn ihr eure Angesichter wirklich dahin richtet, nach Ägypten zu ziehen, und hinzieht, um euch dort aufzuhalten,15 And now therefore hear the word of the LORD, ye remnant of Judah; Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; If ye wholly set your faces to enter into Egypt, and go to sojourn there;
16 so wird es geschehen, dass das SchwertSchwert, vor dem ihr euch fürchtet, euch dort, im Land Ägypten, erreichen wird; und der Hunger, vor dem euch bange ist, wird dort, in Ägypten, hinter euch her sein; und ihr werdet dort sterben.16 Then it shall come to pass, that the sword, which ye feared, shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt, and the famine, whereof ye were afraid, shall follow close after you there in Egypt; and there ye shall die.2
17 Und es wird geschehen, alle Männer, die ihre Angesichter dahin gerichtet haben, nach Ägypten zu ziehen, um sich dort aufzuhalten, werden sterben durch das SchwertSchwert, durch den Hunger und durch die PestPest; und sie werden keinen Übriggebliebenen noch Entkommenen haben vor dem Unglück, das ich über sie bringen werde. 17 So shall it be with all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to sojourn there; they shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I will bring upon them.3
18 Denn so spricht der HERR der HeerscharenHeerscharen, der GottGott IsraelsIsraels: Wie mein ZornZorn und mein Grimm sich ergossen haben über die Bewohner von JerusalemJerusalem, so wird mein Grimm sich über euch ergießen, wenn ihr nach Ägypten zieht; und ihr werdet zum FluchFluch und zum Entsetzen und zur Verwünschung und zum Hohn sein, und werdet diesen Ort nicht mehr sehen. –18 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As mine anger and my fury hath been poured forth upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem; so shall my fury be poured forth upon you, when ye shall enter into Egypt: and ye shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach; and ye shall see this place no more.
19 Der HERR hat zu euch geredet, ihr Überrest von JudaJuda: Zieht nicht nach Ägypten! Wisst bestimmt, dass ich es euch heute ernstlich bezeugt habe.19 The LORD hath said concerning you, O ye remnant of Judah; Go ye not into Egypt: know certainly that I have admonished you this day.4
20 Denn ihr habt um den PreisPreis eurer Seelen geirrt. Denn ihr habt mich an den HERRN, euren GottGott, gesandt und gesprochen: Bete für uns zu dem HERRN, unserem GottGott; und nach allem, was der HerrHerr, unser GottGott, sagen wird, so teile uns mit, und wir werden es tun. 20 For ye dissembled in your hearts, when ye sent me unto the LORD your God, saying, Pray for us unto the LORD our God; and according unto all that the LORD our God shall say, so declare unto us, and we will do it.5
21 Und ich habe es euch heute mitgeteilt; aber ihr habt nicht auf die Stimme des HERRN, eures GottesGottes, gehört, nach allem1, womit er mich zu euch gesandt hat. 21 And now I have this day declared it to you; but ye have not obeyed the voice of the LORD your God, nor any thing for the which he hath sent me unto you.
22 Und nun wisst bestimmt, dass ihr sterben werdet durch das SchwertSchwert, durch den Hunger und durch die PestPest an dem Ort, wohin es euch zu ziehen gelüstet, um euch dort aufzuhalten. 22 Now therefore know certainly that ye shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, in the place whither ye desire to go and to sojourn.6
