1 So1 hatte JosaphatJosaphat Reichtum und Ehre in Fülle. Und er verschwägerte sich mit AhabAhab.1 Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, and joined affinity with Ahab.
2 Und nach Verlauf von einigen Jahren zog er zu AhabAhab nach SamariaSamaria hinab; und AhabAhab schlachtete für ihn und für das Volk, das bei ihm war, Klein- und Rindvieh in Menge; und er verleitete ihn, gegen Ramot-GileadRamot-Gilead hinaufzuziehen.2 And after certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that he had with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramothgilead.1
3 Und AhabAhab, der König von IsraelIsrael, sprach zu JosaphatJosaphat, dem König von JudaJuda: Willst du mit mir nach Ramot-GileadRamot-Gilead ziehen? Und er sprach zu ihm: Ich will sein wie du, und mein Volk wie dein Volk, und will mit dir in den KampfKampf ziehen.3 And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramothgilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war.
4 Und JosaphatJosaphat sprach zu dem König von IsraelIsrael: Befrage doch heute2 das WortWort des HERRN. 4 And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day.
5 Da versammelte der König von IsraelIsrael die ProphetenPropheten, 400 MannMann, und er sprach zu ihnen: Sollen wir gegen Ramot-GileadRamot-Gilead in den KampfKampf ziehen, oder soll ich davon abstehen? Und sie sprachen: Zieh hinauf, und GottGott wird es in die Hand des Königs geben.5 Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king's hand.
6 Aber JosaphatJosaphat sprach: Ist hier kein ProphetProphet des HERRN mehr, dass wir durch ihn fragen?6 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?2
7 Und der König von IsraelIsrael sprach zu JosaphatJosaphat: Es ist noch ein MannMann da, um durch ihn den HERRN zu befragen; aber ich hasse ihn, denn er weissagt nichts Gutes über mich, sondern immer nur Böses3; es ist MichaMicha, der SohnSohn JimlasJimlas. Und JosaphatJosaphat sprach: Der König spreche nicht so!7 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
8 Da rief der König von IsraelIsrael einen KämmererKämmerer und sprach: Bring MichaMicha, den SohnSohn JimlasJimlas, schnell her. 8 And the king of Israel called for one of his officers, and said, Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imla.34
9 Und der König von IsraelIsrael und JosaphatJosaphat, der König von JudaJuda, saßen jeder auf seinem ThronThron, angetan mit königlichen KleidernKleidern, und sie saßen auf einem freien Platz am Eingang des ToresTores von SamariaSamaria; und alle ProphetenPropheten weissagten vor ihnen. 9 And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat either of them on his throne, clothed in their robes, and they sat in a void place at the entering in of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.5
10 Und ZedekiaZedekia, der SohnSohn KenaanasKenaanas, machte sich eiserne HörnerHörner und sprach: So spricht der HERR: Mit diesen wirst du die Syrer stoßen, bis du sie vernichtet hast. 10 And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith the LORD, With these thou shalt push Syria until they be consumed.6
11 Und alle ProphetenPropheten weissagten ebenso und sprachen: Zieh hinauf nach Ramot-GileadRamot-Gilead, und es wird dir gelingen; denn der HERR wird es in die Hand des Königs geben.11 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
12 Und der BoteBote, der hingegangen war, MichaMicha zu rufen, redete zu ihm und sprach: Siehe, die WorteWorte der ProphetenPropheten verkündigen einstimmig dem König Gutes; so lass doch dein WortWort sein, wie das WortWort eines von ihnen, und rede Gutes.12 And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speak thou good.7
13 Aber MichaMicha sprach: So wahr der HERR lebt, was mein GottGott mir sagen wird, das werde ich reden!13 And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak.
14 Und als er zu dem König kam, sprach der König zu ihm: MichaMicha, sollen wir nach Ramot-GileadRamot-Gilead in den KampfKampf ziehen, oder soll ich davon abstehen? Und er sprach: Zieht hinauf, und es wird euch gelingen; denn sie werden in eure Hand gegeben werden. 14 And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand.
15 Und der König sprach zu ihm: Wieviele Male muss ich dich beschwören, dass du nichts zu mir reden sollst als nur WahrheitWahrheit im NamenNamen des HERRN? 15 And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the LORD?
16 Da sprach er: Ich sah ganz IsraelIsrael auf den Bergen zerstreut wie SchafeSchafe, die keinen Hirten haben. Und der HERR sprach: Diese haben keinen HerrnHerrn; sie sollen jeder nach seinem HausHaus zurückkehren in Frieden.16 Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace.
17 Und der König von IsraelIsrael sprach zu JosaphatJosaphat: Habe ich dir nicht gesagt: Er weissagt nichts Gutes über mich, sondern nur Böses?17 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good unto me, but evil?8
18 Und er sprach: Darum hört das WortWort des HERRN: Ich sah den HERRN auf seinem ThronThron sitzen und alles Heer des HimmelsHimmels zu seiner Rechten und zu seiner Linken stehen.18 Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the LORD; I saw the LORD sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.
19 Und der HERR sprach: Wer will AhabAhab, den König von IsraelIsrael, bereden, dass er hinaufziehe und in Ramot-GileadRamot-Gilead falle? Und der eine sprach so, und der andere sprach so.19 And the LORD said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.
20 Da trat ein4 GeistGeist hervor und stellte sich vor den HERRN und sprach: Ich will ihn bereden. Und der HERR sprach zu ihm: Wodurch?20 Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will entice him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith?
21 Und er sprach: Ich will ausgehen und will ein Lügengeist sein in dem Mund aller seiner ProphetenPropheten. Und er sprach: Du wirst5 ihn bereden und wirst es auch ausrichten; geh aus und tu so!21 And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the LORD said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so.
22 Und nun, siehe, der HERR hat einen Lügengeist in den Mund dieser deiner ProphetenPropheten gelegt, und der HERR hat Böses über dich geredet.22 Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil against thee.
23 Da trat ZedekiaZedekia, der SohnSohn KenaanasKenaanas, herzu und schlug MichaMicha auf den Backen und sprach: Auf welchem Weg wäre der GeistGeist des HERRN von mir gewichen, um mit dir zu reden? 23 Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee?
24 Und MichaMicha sprach: Siehe, du wirst es sehen an jenem TagTag, wenn du ins innerste Gemach6 gehen wirst, um dich zu verstecken. 24 And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.9
25 Und der König von IsraelIsrael sprach: Nehmt MichaMicha und führt ihn zurück zu AmonAmon, dem Obersten der Stadt, und zu JoasJoas, dem SohnSohn des Königs,25 Then the king of Israel said, Take ye Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;
26 und sagt: So spricht der König: Setzt diesen ins GefängnisGefängnis und speist ihn mit BrotBrot der TrübsalTrübsal und mit Wasser der TrübsalTrübsal, bis ich in Frieden wiederkomme.26 And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.
27 Und MichaMicha sprach: Wenn du je in Frieden zurückkehrst, so hat der HERR nicht durch mich geredet! Und er sprach: Hört es, ihr Völker alle!27 And Micaiah said, If thou certainly return in peace, then hath not the LORD spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all ye people.
28 Und der König von IsraelIsrael und JosaphatJosaphat, der König von JudaJuda, zogen hinauf nach Ramot-GileadRamot-Gilead.28 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramothgilead.
29 Und der König von IsraelIsrael sprach zu JosaphatJosaphat: Ich will mich verkleiden und in den KampfKampf ziehen, du aber lege deine KleiderKleider an. Und der König von IsraelIsrael verkleidete sich, und sie zogen in den KampfKampf.29 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and will go to the battle; but put thou on thy robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went to the battle.
30 Der König von SyrienSyrien hatte aber seinen Obersten der WagenWagen geboten und gesagt: Ihr sollt weder gegen einen Geringen kämpfen, noch gegen einen Großen, sondern nur gegen den König von IsraelIsrael.30 Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the chariots that were with him, saying, Fight ye not with small or great, save only with the king of Israel.
31 Und es geschah, als die Obersten der WagenWagen JosaphatJosaphat sahen, – denn sie sprachen: Das ist der König von IsraelIsrael! – da umringten sie ihn, um zu kämpfen; und JosaphatJosaphat schrie; und der HERR half ihm, und GottGott lenkte7 sie von ihm ab.31 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.
32 Und es geschah, als die Obersten der WagenWagen sahen, dass er nicht der König von IsraelIsrael war, da wandten sie sich von ihm ab.32 For it came to pass, that, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back again from pursuing him.10
33 Und ein MannMann spannte den BogenBogen aufs Geratewohl8 und traf den König von IsraelIsrael zwischen den PanzerPanzer-Anhang und den PanzerPanzer. Da sprach er zu seinem Wagenlenker: Wende um9 und führe mich aus dem LagerLager hinaus, denn ich bin verwundet. 33 And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: therefore he said to his chariot man, Turn thine hand, that thou mayest carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.111213
34 Und der KampfKampf nahm überhand an diesem TagTag, und der König von IsraelIsrael blieb aufrecht stehen in dem WagenWagen, den Syrern gegenüber, bis zum AbendAbend; und er starb zur ZeitZeit des SonnenuntergangsSonnenuntergangs. 34 And the battle increased that day: howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the even: and about the time of the sun going down he died.
