9 So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.

10 Und der HERR redete zu Manasse und zu seinem Volk; aber sie merkten nicht darauf.

10 And the LORD spake to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not hearken.

11 Da ließ der HERR die Heerobersten des Königs von Assyrien über sie kommen; und sie nahmen Manasse gefangen² und banden ihn mit kupfernen Fesseln³ und führten ihn nach Babel.

11 Wherefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.²³

12 Und als er bedrängt war, flehte er den HERRN, seinen Gott, an und demütigte sich sehr vor dem Gott seiner Väter und betete zu ihm;

13 And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he was God.

15 And he took away the strange gods, and the idol out of the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the LORD, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.

16 Und er baute den Altar des HERRN wieder auf⁶ und opferte auf demselben Friedens- und Dankopfer; und er befahl Juda, dass sie dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels, dienen sollten.

18 Und das Übrige der Geschichte Manasses und sein Gebet zu seinem Gott und die Worte der Seher, die zu ihm redeten im Namen des HERRN, des Gottes Israels, siehe, das ist geschrieben in der Geschichte der Könige von Israel.

22 But he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as did Manasseh his father: for Amon sacrificed unto all the carved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them;

23 Und er demütigte sich nicht vor dem HERRN, wie sein Vater Manasse sich gedemütigt hatte, sondern er, Amon, häufte die Schuld.

23 And humbled not himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.⁶

24 Und seine Knechte machten eine Verschwörung gegen ihn und töteten ihn in seinem Haus.

24 And his servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house.

25 Da erschlug das Volk des Landes alle, die sich gegen den König Amon verschworen hatten; und das Volk des Landes machte Josia, seinen Sohn, zum König an seiner statt.

25 But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.
