1 Und die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael, die ganze GemeindeGemeinde, kamen in die WüsteWüste ZinZin, im ersten Monat1; und das Volk blieb in KadesKades; und MirjamMirjam starb dort und wurde dort begraben.1 Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.
2 Und es war kein Wasser da für die GemeindeGemeinde, und sie versammelten sich gegen MoseMose und gegen AaronAaron.2 And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.
3 Und das Volk haderte mit MoseMose, und sie sprachen und sagten: Wären wir doch umgekommen, als unsere BrüderBrüder vor dem HERRN umkamen!3 And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD!
4 Und warum habt ihr die VersammlungVersammlung des HERRN in diese WüsteWüste gebracht, dass wir dort sterben, wir und unser ViehVieh? 4 And why have ye brought up the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there?
5 Und warum habt ihr uns aus Ägypten heraufgeführt, um uns an diesen bösen Ort zu bringen? Es ist kein Ort der Aussaat und der Feigenbäume und der Weinstöcke und der Granatbäume, und kein Wasser ist da zu trinken.5 And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink.
6 Und MoseMose und AaronAaron gingen von der VersammlungVersammlung weg zum Eingang des ZeltesZeltes der Zusammenkunft und fielen auf ihr Angesicht; und die HerrlichkeitHerrlichkeit des HERRN erschien ihnen.6 And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them.
7 Und der HERR redete zu MoseMose und sprach:7 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
8 Nimm den Stab und versammle die GemeindeGemeinde, du und dein BruderBruder AaronAaron, und redet vor ihren AugenAugen zu dem Felsen, so wird er sein Wasser geben; und du wirst ihnen Wasser aus dem Felsen hervorbringen und die GemeindeGemeinde tränken und ihr ViehVieh. 8 Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.
9 Und MoseMose nahm den Stab vor dem HERRN weg, so wie er ihm geboten hatte.9 And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him.
10 Und MoseMose und AaronAaron versammelten die VersammlungVersammlung vor dem Felsen; und er sprach zu ihnen: Hört doch, ihr Widerspenstigen! Werden wir euch Wasser aus diesem Felsen hervorbringen?10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?
11 Und MoseMose erhob seine Hand und schlug den Felsen mit seinem Stab zweimal; da kam viel Wasser heraus, und die GemeindeGemeinde trank und ihr ViehVieh.11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.
12 Da sprach der HERR zu MoseMose und zu AaronAaron: Weil ihr mir nicht geglaubt habt, mich vor den AugenAugen der KinderKinder IsraelIsrael zu heiligen, darum sollt ihr diese VersammlungVersammlung nicht in das Land bringen, das ich ihnen gegeben habe.12 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.
13 Das ist das Wasser von Meriba2, wo die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael mit dem HERRN haderten und er sich an ihnen heiligte.13 This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them.1
14 Und MoseMose sandte Boten aus KadesKades an den König von EdomEdom: So spricht dein BruderBruder IsraelIsrael: Du kennst all das Ungemach, das uns betroffen hat: 14 And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh unto the king of Edom, Thus saith thy brother Israel, Thou knowest all the travail that hath befallen us:2
15 Unsere VäterVäter zogen nach Ägypten hinab, und wir haben eine lange ZeitZeit in Ägypten gewohnt; und die Ägypter behandelten uns und unsere VäterVäter übel. 15 How our fathers went down into Egypt, and we have dwelt in Egypt a long time; and the Egyptians vexed us, and our fathers:
16 Da schrien wir zu dem HERRN, und er hat unsere Stimme gehört und einen EngelEngel gesandt und uns aus Ägypten herausgeführt. Und siehe, wir sind in KadesKades, einer Stadt am Äußersten deines Gebiets. 16 And when we cried unto the LORD, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and hath brought us forth out of Egypt: and, behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of thy border:
17 Lass uns doch durch dein Land ziehen! Wir wollen nicht durch die Äcker und durch die WeinbergeWeinberge ziehen und wollen kein Wasser aus den Brunnen3 trinken; auf der Straße des Königs wollen wir ziehen und nicht ausbiegen zur Rechten noch zur Linken, bis wir durch dein Gebiet gezogen sind. 17 Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king's high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders.
18 Aber EdomEdom sprach zu ihm: Du sollst nicht bei mir durchziehen, dass ich dir nicht mit dem SchwertSchwert entgegenrücke.18 And Edom said unto him, Thou shalt not pass by me, lest I come out against thee with the sword.
19 Und die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael sprachen zu ihm: Auf der Landstraße4 wollen wir hinaufziehen; und wenn wir von deinem Wasser trinken, ich und mein ViehVieh, so will ich den PreisPreis dafür geben; mit meinen Füßen will ich durchziehen, weiter nichts5.19 And the children of Israel said unto him, We will go by the high way: and if I and my cattle drink of thy water, then I will pay for it: I will only, without doing any thing else, go through on my feet.
20 Und er sprach: Du sollst nicht durchziehen! Und EdomEdom zog aus, ihm entgegen, mit zahlreichem Volk und mit starker Hand.20 And he said, Thou shalt not go through. And Edom came out against him with much people, and with a strong hand.
21 Und so weigerte sich EdomEdom, IsraelIsrael zu gestatten, durch sein Gebiet zu ziehen; und IsraelIsrael bog von ihm ab.21 Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border: wherefore Israel turned away from him.
22 Und sie brachen auf von KadesKades; und die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael, die ganze GemeindeGemeinde, kamen an den BergBerg HorHor.22 And the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, journeyed from Kadesh, and came unto mount Hor.
23 Und der HERR redete zu MoseMose und zu AaronAaron am BergBerg HorHor, an der Grenze des Landes EdomEdom, und sprach:23 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in mount Hor, by the coast of the land of Edom, saying,
24 AaronAaron soll zu seinen Völkern versammelt werden; denn er soll nicht in das Land kommen, das ich den KindernKindern IsraelIsrael gegeben habe, weil ihr meinem Befehl widerspenstig gewesen seid bei dem Wasser von MeribaMeriba.24 Aaron shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah.3
25 Nimm AaronAaron und EleasarEleasar, seinen SohnSohn, und lass sie hinaufsteigen auf den BergBerg HorHor;25 Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up unto mount Hor:
26 und zieh AaronAaron seine KleiderKleider aus und lege sie seinem SohnSohn EleasarEleasar an; und AaronAaron soll versammelt werden und dort sterben.26 And strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son: and Aaron shall be gathered unto his people, and shall die there.
27 Und MoseMose tat, so wie der HERR geboten hatte, und sie stiegen auf den BergBerg HorHor, vor den AugenAugen der ganzen GemeindeGemeinde.27 And Moses did as the LORD commanded: and they went up into mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation.
28 Und MoseMose zog AaronAaron seine KleiderKleider aus und legte sie seinem SohnSohn EleasarEleasar an; und AaronAaron starb dort auf dem Gipfel des BergesBerges; und MoseMose und EleasarEleasar stiegen von dem BergBerg herab. 28 And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mount.
29 Und als die ganze GemeindeGemeinde sah, dass AaronAaron verschieden war, da beweinte das ganze HausHaus IsraelIsrael AaronAaron 30 TageTage lang.29 And when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they mourned for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel.
