1 Und es geschah in jenen Tagen, da versammelten die PhilisterPhilister ihre Heere zum Krieg, um gegen IsraelIsrael zu kämpfen. Und AchisAchis sprach zu DavidDavid: Wisse bestimmt, dass du mit mir ins LagerLager ausziehen sollst, du und deine Männer.1 And it came to pass in those days, that the Philistines gathered their armies together for warfare, to fight with Israel. And Achish said unto David, Know thou assuredly, that thou shalt go out with me to battle, thou and thy men.
2 Und DavidDavid sprach zu AchisAchis: So sollst du denn auch erfahren was dein KnechtKnecht tun wird. Und AchisAchis sprach zu DavidDavid: So will ich dich denn zum Hüter meines HauptesHauptes setzen alle TageTage.2 And David said to Achish, Surely thou shalt know what thy servant can do. And Achish said to David, Therefore will I make thee keeper of mine head for ever.
3 (SamuelSamuel aber war gestorben, und ganz IsraelIsrael hatte um ihn geklagt und ihn in RamaRama, in seiner Stadt, begraben. Und SaulSaul hatte die TotenbeschwörerTotenbeschwörer und die WahrsagerWahrsager aus dem Land weggeschafft.)3 Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. And Saul had put away those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land.
4 Und die PhilisterPhilister versammelten sich, und sie kamen und lagerten sich in SunemSunem. Und SaulSaul versammelte ganz IsraelIsrael, und sie lagerten sich auf dem GilboaGilboa.4 And the Philistines gathered themselves together, and came and pitched in Shunem: and Saul gathered all Israel together, and they pitched in Gilboa.
5 Und als SaulSaul das Heer der PhilisterPhilister sah, fürchtete er sich, und sein HerzHerz zitterte sehr.5 And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled.
6 Und SaulSaul befragte den HERRN; aber der HERR antwortete ihm nicht, weder durch TräumeTräume, noch durch die UrimUrim, noch durch die ProphetenPropheten.6 And when Saul enquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.
7 Da sprach SaulSaul zu seinen Knechten: Sucht mir eine FrauFrau, die einen Totenbeschwörer-Geist hat, damit ich zu ihr gehe und sie befrage. Und seine KnechteKnechte sprachen zu ihm: Siehe, in En-DorEn-Dor ist eine FrauFrau, die einen Totenbeschwörer-Geist hat.7 Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.
8 Und SaulSaul verstellte sich und zog andere KleiderKleider an, und ging hin, er und zwei Männer mit ihm, und sie kamen zu der FrauFrau bei der NachtNacht; und er sprach: Wahrsage mir doch durch den Totenbeschwörer-Geist und bring mir herauf, wen ich dir sagen werde.8 And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee.
9 Aber die FrauFrau sprach zu ihm: Siehe, du weißt ja, was SaulSaul getan hat, dass er die TotenbeschwörerTotenbeschwörer und die WahrsagerWahrsager aus dem Land ausgerottet hat; und warum legst du meiner SeeleSeele eine SchlingeSchlinge, um mich zu töten?9 And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die?
10 Und SaulSaul schwur ihr bei dem HERRN und sprach: So wahr der HERR lebt, wenn dich eine Schuld1 treffen soll wegen dieser Sache!10 And Saul sware to her by the LORD, saying, As the LORD liveth, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing.
11 Da sprach die FrauFrau: Wen soll ich dir heraufbringen? Und er sprach: Bring mir SamuelSamuel herauf.11 Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel.
12 Und als die FrauFrau SamuelSamuel sah, da schrie sie mit lauter Stimme; und die FrauFrau sprach zu SaulSaul und sagte: Warum hast du mich betrogen? Du bist ja SaulSaul!12 And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul.
13 Und der König sprach zu ihr: Fürchte dich nicht! Doch was siehst du? Und die FrauFrau sprach zu SaulSaul: Ich sehe einen GottGott aus der ErdeErde heraufsteigen.13 And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth.
14 Und er sprach zu ihr: Wie ist seine GestaltGestalt? Und sie sprach: Ein alter MannMann steigt herauf, und er ist in ein OberkleidOberkleid gehüllt. Da erkannte SaulSaul, dass es SamuelSamuel war, und er neigte sich, das Gesicht zur ErdeErde, und beugte sich nieder.14 And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself.1
15 Und SamuelSamuel sprach zu SaulSaul: Warum hast du mich beunruhigt, mich heraufkommen zu lassen? Und SaulSaul sprach: Ich bin in großer Not; denn die PhilisterPhilister kämpfen gegen mich, und GottGott ist von mir gewichen und antwortet mir nicht mehr, weder durch die ProphetenPropheten, noch durch TräumeTräume; da ließ ich dich rufen, damit du mir mitteilst, was ich tun soll. 15 And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.2
16 Und SamuelSamuel sprach: Warum doch fragst du mich, da der HERR von dir gewichen und dein Feind geworden ist?16 Then said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the LORD is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy?
17 Und der HERR hat für sich2 getan, so wie er durch mich geredet hat; und der HERR hat das Königtum aus deiner Hand gerissen und es deinem Nächsten, dem DavidDavid, gegeben.17 And the LORD hath done to him, as he spake by me: for the LORD hath rent the kingdom out of thine hand, and given it to thy neighbour, even to David:34
18 Weil du der Stimme des HERRN nicht gehorcht und seine Zornglut nicht ausgeführt hast an Amalek3, darum hat der HERR dir dieses heute getan.18 Because thou obeyedst not the voice of the LORD, nor executedst his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore hath the LORD done this thing unto thee this day.
19 Und der HERR wird auch IsraelIsrael mit dir in die Hand der PhilisterPhilister geben; und morgen wirst du mit deinen Söhnen bei mir sein; auch das Heerlager IsraelsIsraels wird der HERR in die Hand der PhilisterPhilister geben.19 Moreover the LORD will also deliver Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines: and to morrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: the LORD also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.
20 Da fiel SaulSaul plötzlich seiner Länge nach zur ErdeErde, und er fürchtete sich sehr vor den Worten SamuelsSamuels; auch war keine KraftKraft in ihm, denn er hatte nichts gegessen den ganzen TagTag und die ganze NachtNacht.20 Then Saul fell straightway all along on the earth, and was sore afraid, because of the words of Samuel: and there was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all the day, nor all the night.5
21 Und die FrauFrau trat zu SaulSaul und sah, dass er sehr bestürzt war; und sie sprach zu ihm: Siehe, deine MagdMagd hat auf deine Stimme gehört, und ich habe mein LebenLeben aufs Spiel gesetzt und deinen Worten gehorcht, die du zu mir geredet hast; 21 And the woman came unto Saul, and saw that he was sore troubled, and said unto him, Behold, thine handmaid hath obeyed thy voice, and I have put my life in my hand, and have hearkened unto thy words which thou spakest unto me.
22 und nun höre doch auch du auf die Stimme deiner MagdMagd, und lass mich dir einen Bissen BrotBrot vorsetzen, und iss, dass KraftKraft in dir sei, wenn du deines Weges gehst.22 Now therefore, I pray thee, hearken thou also unto the voice of thine handmaid, and let me set a morsel of bread before thee; and eat, that thou mayest have strength, when thou goest on thy way.
23 Aber er weigerte sich und sprach: Ich will nicht essen. Da drangen seine KnechteKnechte und auch die FrauFrau in ihn; und er hörte auf ihre Stimme und stand von der ErdeErde auf und setzte sich auf das Bett4.23 But he refused, and said, I will not eat. But his servants, together with the woman, compelled him; and he hearkened unto their voice. So he arose from the earth, and sat upon the bed.
24 Und die FrauFrau hatte ein gemästetes KalbKalb im HausHaus; und sie eilte und schlachtete es; und sie nahm MehlMehl und knetete es und backte daraus ungesäuerte KuchenKuchen.24 And the woman had a fat calf in the house; and she hasted, and killed it, and took flour, and kneaded it, and did bake unleavened bread thereof:
25 Und sie brachte es herzu vor SaulSaul und vor seine KnechteKnechte, und sie aßen. Und sie machten sich auf und gingen fort in dieser NachtNacht. 25 And she brought it before Saul, and before his servants; and they did eat. Then they rose up, and went away that night.
