1 Und die PhilisterPhilister versammelten alle ihre Heere nach AphekAphek; und IsraelIsrael war an der QuelleQuelle gelagert, die bei JisreelJisreel ist.1 Now the Philistines gathered together all their armies to Aphek: and the Israelites pitched by a fountain which is in Jezreel.
2 Und die Fürsten der PhilisterPhilister zogen vorüber nach Hunderten und nach Tausenden, und DavidDavid und seine Männer zogen zuletzt mit AchisAchis vorüber.2 And the lords of the Philistines passed on by hundreds, and by thousands: but David and his men passed on in the rereward with Achish.
3 Da sprachen die Fürsten der PhilisterPhilister: Was sollen diese HebräerHebräer? Und AchisAchis sprach zu den Fürsten der PhilisterPhilister: Ist das nicht DavidDavid, der KnechtKnecht SaulsSauls, des Königs von IsraelIsrael, der schon seit JahrJahr und TagTag bei mir gewesen ist? Und ich habe gar nichts an ihm gefunden von dem TagTag an, da er abgefallen ist, bis auf diesen TagTag.3 Then said the princes of the Philistines, What do these Hebrews here? And Achish said unto the princes of the Philistines, Is not this David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, which hath been with me these days, or these years, and I have found no fault in him since he fell unto me unto this day?
4 Aber die Fürsten der PhilisterPhilister wurden zornig über ihn, und die Fürsten der PhilisterPhilister sprachen zu ihm: Schicke den MannMann zurück, dass er an seinen Ort zurückkehre, wohin du ihn bestellt hast, und dass er nicht mit uns in den KampfKampf hinabziehe und uns nicht zum WidersacherWidersacher werde im KampfKampf; denn womit könnte der sich angenehm machen bei seinem HerrnHerrn? Nicht mit den Köpfen dieser Männer?4 And the princes of the Philistines were wroth with him; and the princes of the Philistines said unto him, Make this fellow return, that he may go again to his place which thou hast appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he be an adversary to us: for wherewith should he reconcile himself unto his master? should it not be with the heads of these men?
5 Ist das nicht DavidDavid, von dem sie in den Reigen sangen und sprachen: „SaulSaul hat seine Tausende erschlagen, und DavidDavid seine Zehntausende“?5 Is not this David, of whom they sang one to another in dances, saying, Saul slew his thousands, and David his ten thousands?
6 Und AchisAchis rief DavidDavid und sprach zu ihm: So wahr der HERR lebt, du bist redlich; und wohlgefällig in meinen AugenAugen ist dein Ausgang und dein Eingang bei mir im Heerlager; denn ich habe nichts Böses an dir gefunden von dem TagTag an, da du zu mir gekommen bist, bis auf diesen TagTag; aber in den AugenAugen der Fürsten bist du nicht wohlgefällig.6 Then Achish called David, and said unto him, Surely, as the LORD liveth, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host is good in my sight: for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day: nevertheless the lords favour thee not.1
7 Und nun kehre zurück und geh hin in Frieden, damit du nichts Übles tust in den AugenAugen der Fürsten der PhilisterPhilister. 7 Wherefore now return, and go in peace, that thou displease not the lords of the Philistines.2
8 Und DavidDavid sprach zu AchisAchis: Aber was habe ich getan, und was hast du an deinem KnechtKnecht gefunden von dem TagTag an, da ich vor dir gewesen bin bis auf diesen TagTag, dass ich nicht kommen und gegen die Feinde meines HerrnHerrn, des Königs, kämpfen soll? 8 And David said unto Achish, But what have I done? and what hast thou found in thy servant so long as I have been with thee unto this day, that I may not go fight against the enemies of my lord the king?3
9 Und AchisAchis antwortete und sprach zu DavidDavid: Ich weiß es, denn1 du bist wohlgefällig in meinen AugenAugen wie ein EngelEngel GottesGottes; doch die Fürsten der PhilisterPhilister haben gesagt: Er soll nicht mit uns in den KampfKampf hinaufziehen!9 And Achish answered and said to David, I know that thou art good in my sight, as an angel of God: notwithstanding the princes of the Philistines have said, He shall not go up with us to the battle.
10 So mach dich nun frühmorgens auf, du und die KnechteKnechte deines HerrnHerrn, die mit dir gekommen sind; und macht euch frühmorgens auf: sobald es euch hell wird, zieht fort.10 Wherefore now rise up early in the morning with thy master's servants that are come with thee: and as soon as ye be up early in the morning, and have light, depart.
11 Und DavidDavid machte sich früh auf, er und seine Männer, dass sie am MorgenMorgen fortzögen, um in das Land der PhilisterPhilister zurückzukehren. Die PhilisterPhilister aber zogen nach JisreelJisreel hinauf. 11 So David and his men rose up early to depart in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.
