1 Und dort war zufällig ein MannMann BelialsBelials, sein Name war SchebaScheba, der SohnSohn BikrisBikris, ein Benjaminiter; und er stieß in die Posaune und sprach: Wir haben kein Teil an DavidDavid und kein ErbteilErbteil an dem SohnSohn IsaisIsais! Jeder zu seinen Zelten, IsraelIsrael!1 And there happened to be there a man of Belial, whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjamite: and he blew a trumpet, and said, We have no part in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to his tents, O Israel.
2 Da zogen alle Männer von IsraelIsrael von DavidDavid weg, SchebaScheba, dem SohnSohn BikrisBikris, nach. Die Männer von JudaJuda aber hingen ihrem König an, vom JordanJordan bis JerusalemJerusalem.2 So every man of Israel went up from after David, and followed Sheba the son of Bichri: but the men of Judah clave unto their king, from Jordan even to Jerusalem.
3 Und DavidDavid kam nach seinem HausHaus, nach JerusalemJerusalem. Und der König nahm die zehn NebenfrauenNebenfrauen, die er zurückgelassen hatte, um das HausHaus zu bewahren, und tat sie in Gewahrsam1 und versorgte sie; er ging aber nicht zu ihnen ein; und sie waren eingeschlossen bis zum TagTag ihres TodesTodes, als Witwen lebend. 3 And David came to his house at Jerusalem; and the king took the ten women his concubines, whom he had left to keep the house, and put them in ward, and fed them, but went not in unto them. So they were shut up unto the day of their death, living in widowhood.123
4 Und der König sprach zu AmasaAmasa: BerufeBerufe mir die Männer von JudaJuda innerhalb von drei Tagen, und stell dich selbst hier ein.4 Then said the king to Amasa, Assemble me the men of Judah within three days, and be thou here present.4
5 Und AmasaAmasa ging hin, JudaJuda zu berufen; aber er verzog über die bestimmte ZeitZeit, die er ihm bestimmt hatte. 5 So Amasa went to assemble the men of Judah: but he tarried longer than the set time which he had appointed him.5
6 Da sprach DavidDavid zu AbisaiAbisai: Nun wird uns SchebaScheba, der SohnSohn BikrisBikris, mehr Übles tun als AbsalomAbsalom. Nimm du die KnechteKnechte deines HerrnHerrn und jage ihm nach, ob er nicht feste Städte für sich gefunden und sich unseren AugenAugen entzogen hat. 6 And David said to Abishai, Now shall Sheba the son of Bichri do us more harm than did Absalom: take thou thy lord's servants, and pursue after him, lest he get him fenced cities, and escape us.6
7 Da zogen die Männer JoabsJoabs aus, ihm nach, und die KeretiterKeretiter und die Peletiter2 und alle die Helden; und sie zogen aus von JerusalemJerusalem, um SchebaScheba, dem SohnSohn BikrisBikris, nachzujagen.7 And there went out after him Joab's men, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and all the mighty men: and they went out of Jerusalem, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.
8 Sie waren bei dem großen Stein, der in GibeonGibeon ist, da kam AmasaAmasa ihnen entgegen. Und JoabJoab war mit seinem Waffenrock als seinem GewandGewand umgürtet, und darüber war der GürtelGürtel des SchwertesSchwertes, das in seiner Scheide an seinen LendenLenden befestigtbefestigt war; und als er hervortrat, fiel es heraus. 8 When they were at the great stone which is in Gibeon, Amasa went before them. And Joab's garment that he had put on was girded unto him, and upon it a girdle with a sword fastened upon his loins in the sheath thereof; and as he went forth it fell out.
9 Und JoabJoab sprach zu AmasaAmasa: Geht es dir wohl, mein BruderBruder? Und JoabJoab fasste mit der rechten Hand AmasasAmasas BartBart, um ihn zu küssen. 9 And Joab said to Amasa, Art thou in health, my brother? And Joab took Amasa by the beard with the right hand to kiss him.
10 AmasaAmasa hatte aber nicht achtgegeben auf das SchwertSchwert, das in JoabsJoabs Hand war; und JoabJoab3 schlug ihn damit in den Bauch und schüttete seine Eingeweide aus zur ErdeErde, und gab ihm keinen zweiten Schlag; und er starb.JoabJoab aber und AbisaiAbisai, sein BruderBruder, jagten SchebaScheba, dem SohnSohn BikrisBikris, nach. 10 But Amasa took no heed to the sword that was in Joab's hand: so he smote him therewith in the fifth rib, and shed out his bowels to the ground, and struck him not again; and he died. So Joab and Abishai his brother pursued after Sheba the son of Bichri.7
11 Und ein MannMann von den Knaben JoabsJoabs blieb bei Amasa4 stehen und sprach: Wer JoabJoab lieb hat und wer für DavidDavid ist, folge JoabJoab nach! 11 And one of Joab's men stood by him, and said, He that favoureth Joab, and he that is for David, let him go after Joab.
12 AmasaAmasa aber wälzte sich im BlutBlut mitten auf der Straße; und als der MannMann sah, dass alles Volk stehen blieb, schaffte er AmasaAmasa von der Straße auf das Feld und warf ein OberkleidOberkleid über ihn, da er sah, dass jeder, der an ihn herankam, stehen blieb. 12 And Amasa wallowed in blood in the midst of the highway. And when the man saw that all the people stood still, he removed Amasa out of the highway into the field, and cast a cloth upon him, when he saw that every one that came by him stood still.
13 Als er von der Straße weggeschafft war, zog jedermann vorüber, JoabJoab nach, um SchebaScheba, dem SohnSohn BikrisBikris, nachzujagen.13 When he was removed out of the highway, all the people went on after Joab, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.
14 Und er durchzog alle StämmeStämme IsraelsIsraels nach AbelAbel und Beth-MaakaBeth-Maaka5 und ganz BerimBerim; und sie versammelten sich6 und kamen ihm ebenfalls nach.14 And he went through all the tribes of Israel unto Abel, and to Bethmaachah, and all the Berites: and they were gathered together, and went also after him.
15 Und sie kamen und belagerten ihn in Abel-Beth-MaakaAbel-Beth-Maaka, und sie schütteten einen Wall gegen die Stadt auf, so dass derselbe an der Vormauer stand; und alles Volk, das mit JoabJoab war, unterwühlte die Mauer, um sie zu stürzen. 15 And they came and besieged him in Abel of Bethmaachah, and they cast up a bank against the city, and it stood in the trench: and all the people that were with Joab battered the wall, to throw it down.89
16 Da rief eine kluge FrauFrau aus der Stadt: Hört, hört! Sprecht doch zu JoabJoab: Nahe hierher, dass ich zu dir rede! 16 Then cried a wise woman out of the city, Hear, hear; say, I pray you, unto Joab, Come near hither, that I may speak with thee.
17 Und er näherte sich ihr. Und die FrauFrau sprach: Bist du JoabJoab? Und er sprach: Ich bin es. Und sie sprach zu ihm: Höre die WorteWorte deiner MagdMagd! Und er sprach: Ich höre. 17 And when he was come near unto her, the woman said, Art thou Joab? And he answered, I am he. Then she said unto him, Hear the words of thine handmaid. And he answered, I do hear.
18 Und sie sprach und sagte: Früher pflegte man zu sprechen und zu sagen: Man frage nur in AbelAbel; und so war man fertig7.18 Then she spake, saying, They were wont to speak in old time, saying, They shall surely ask counsel at Abel: and so they ended the matter.10
19 Ich bin von den Friedsamen, den Getreuen IsraelsIsraels; du suchst eine Stadt und MutterMutter in IsraelIsrael zu töten. Warum willst du das ErbteilErbteil des HERRN verschlingen?19 I am one of them that are peaceable and faithful in Israel: thou seekest to destroy a city and a mother in Israel: why wilt thou swallow up the inheritance of the LORD?
20 Und JoabJoab antwortete und sprach: Fern, fern sei es von mir, dass ich verschlingen und dass ich verderben sollte! Die Sache ist nicht so;20 And Joab answered and said, Far be it, far be it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy.
21 sondern ein MannMann vom GebirgeGebirge EphraimEphraim, sein Name ist SchebaScheba, der SohnSohn BikrisBikris, hat seine Hand gegen den König, gegen DavidDavid, erhoben; ihn allein gebt heraus, so will ich von der Stadt abziehen. Und die FrauFrau sprach zu JoabJoab: Siehe, sein KopfKopf soll dir über die Mauer zugeworfen werden.21 The matter is not so: but a man of mount Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, hath lifted up his hand against the king, even against David: deliver him only, and I will depart from the city. And the woman said unto Joab, Behold, his head shall be thrown to thee over the wall.11
22 Und die FrauFrau kam zu dem ganzen Volk mit ihrer Klugheit; und sie hieben SchebaScheba, dem SohnSohn BikrisBikris, den KopfKopf ab und warfen ihn JoabJoab zu. Und er stieß in die Posaune, und sie zerstreuten sich von der Stadt weg, jeder nach seinen Zelten; und JoabJoab kehrte zu dem König nach JerusalemJerusalem zurück. 22 Then the woman went unto all the people in her wisdom. And they cut off the head of Sheba the son of Bichri, and cast it out to Joab. And he blew a trumpet, and they retired from the city, every man to his tent. And Joab returned to Jerusalem unto the king.12
23 Und JoabJoab war über das ganze Heer IsraelsIsraels; und BenajaBenaja, der SohnSohn JojadasJojadas, war über die KeretiterKeretiter und über die Peletiter8;23 Now Joab was over all the host of Israel: and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and over the Pelethites:
24 und AdoramAdoram war über die Fron9; und JosaphatJosaphat, der SohnSohn AhiludsAhiluds, war Geschichtsschreiber10;24 And Adoram was over the tribute: and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder:13
25 und Scheja11 war Schreiber; und ZadokZadok und AbjatharAbjathar waren PriesterPriester;25 And Sheva was scribe: and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests:
26 und auch IraIra, der JairiterJairiter, war Krondiener12 DavidsDavids.26 And Ira also the Jairite was a chief ruler about David.14
