1 Und es war HungersnotHungersnot in den Tagen DavidsDavids drei JahreJahre, JahrJahr auf JahrJahr. Und DavidDavid suchte das Angesicht des HERRN; und der HERR sprach: Es ist wegen SaulsSauls und wegen des Bluthauses, weil er die GibeoniterGibeoniter getötet hat.1 Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.1
2 Da berief der König die GibeoniterGibeoniter und redete zu ihnen. (Die GibeoniterGibeoniter waren aber nicht von den KindernKindern IsraelIsrael, sondern von dem Rest der AmoriterAmoriter; und die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael hatten ihnen geschworen; SaulSaul aber suchte sie zu erschlagen, da er für die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael und JudaJuda eiferte.) 2 And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)
3 Und DavidDavid sprach zu den GibeoniternGibeonitern: Was soll ich für euch tun, und womit soll ich SühnungSühnung tun, dass ihr das ErbteilErbteil des HERRN segnet?3 Wherefore David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the LORD?
4 Und die GibeoniterGibeoniter sprachen zu ihm: Es ist uns nicht um SilberSilber und GoldGold zu tun bezüglich SaulsSauls und bezüglich seines Hauses, und es ist uns nicht darum zu tun, jemand in IsraelIsrael zu töten. Und er sprach: Was ihr sagt, will ich für euch tun.4 And the Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, that will I do for you.2
5 Da sprachen sie zu dem König: Der MannMann, der uns vernichtet hat, und der gegen uns sann, dass wir vertilgt würden, um nicht mehr zu bestehen in allen Grenzen IsraelsIsraels: 5 And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,3
6 – man gebe uns sieben Männer von seinen Söhnen, dass wir sie dem HERRN aufhängen1 in GibeaGibea SaulsSauls, des Erwählten2 des HERRN. Und der König sprach: Ich will sie geben.6 Let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, whom the LORD did choose. And the king said, I will give them.4
7 Aber der König verschonte MephibosethMephiboseth, den SohnSohn JonathansJonathans, des SohnesSohnes SaulsSauls, um des SchwuresSchwures des HERRN willen, der zwischen ihnen war, zwischen DavidDavid und JonathanJonathan, dem SohnSohn SaulsSauls.7 But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD'S oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
8 Und der König nahm die beiden Söhne RizpasRizpas, der TochterTochter AjasAjas, die sie dem SaulSaul geboren hatte, ArmoniArmoni und MephibosethMephiboseth, und die fünf Söhne Michals3, der TochterTochter SaulsSauls, die sie dem AdrielAdriel geboren hatte, dem SohnSohn BarsillaisBarsillais, des MeholatitersMeholatiters,8 But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:56
9 und er gab sie in die Hand der GibeoniterGibeoniter; und sie hängten sie auf dem BergBerg vor dem HERRN auf. Und es fielen die sieben zugleich, und sie wurden getötet in den ersten Tagen der ErnteErnte, im AnfangAnfang der Gerstenernte. 9 And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them in the hill before the LORD: and they fell all seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, in the beginning of barley harvest.
10 Da nahm RizpaRizpa, die TochterTochter AjasAjas, SacktuchSacktuch und breitete es sich aus auf dem Felsen, vom AnfangAnfang der ErnteErnte an, bis das Wasser vom HimmelHimmel über sie4 troff; und sie ließ die VögelVögel des HimmelsHimmels nicht auf ihnen ruhen bei TageTage, noch die TiereTiere des Feldes bei NachtNacht. 10 And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
11 Und es wurde DavidDavid berichtet, was RizpaRizpa, die TochterTochter AjasAjas, die Nebenfrau SaulsSauls, getan hatte.11 And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.
12 Da ging DavidDavid hin und nahm von den BürgernBürgern von Jabes-GileadJabes-Gilead die Gebeine SaulsSauls und die Gebeine seines SohnesSohnes JonathanJonathan, die sie von dem Marktplatz in Beth-Schan heimlich weggenommen, wo die PhilisterPhilister sie aufgehängt hatten an dem TagTag, da die PhilisterPhilister SaulSaul schlugen auf dem GilboaGilboa. 12 And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabeshgilead, which had stolen them from the street of Bethshan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:
13 Und er brachte die Gebeine SaulsSauls und die Gebeine seines SohnesSohnes JonathanJonathan von dort herauf; und man sammelte die Gebeine der Gehängten13 And he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.
14 und begrub sie bei den Gebeinen SaulsSauls und JonathansJonathans, seines SohnesSohnes, im Land BenjaminBenjamin, in ZelaZela, im BegräbnisBegräbnis seines VatersVaters KisKis; und man tat alles, was der König geboten hatte. Und danach ließ GottGott sich für das Land erbitten.14 And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was intreated for the land.
15 Und wiederum entstand ein KampfKampf der PhilisterPhilister mit IsraelIsrael. Und DavidDavid zog hinab, und seine KnechteKnechte mit ihm, und sie kämpften mit den PhilisternPhilistern. Und DavidDavid war ermattet;15 Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.
16 und Jischbi-BenobJischbi-Benob, der von den Söhnen des Rapha5 war, (das Gewicht seiner Lanzenspitze war 300 SekelSekel KupferKupfer an Gewicht, und er war neu gerüstet) gedachte DavidDavid zu erschlagen. 16 And Ishbibenob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David.78
17 Aber AbisaiAbisai, der SohnSohn der ZerujaZeruja, kam ihm zu Hilfe und schlug den PhilisterPhilister und tötete ihn. Damals schwuren die Männer DavidsDavids ihm zu und sprachen: Du sollst nicht mehr mit uns ausziehen zum KampfKampf, dass du die LeuchteLeuchte IsraelsIsraels nicht auslöschst!17 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.9
18 Und6 es geschah danach, da begann wiederum der KampfKampf mit den PhilisternPhilistern, bei GobGob. Damals erschlug SibbekaiSibbekai, der HuschatiterHuschatiter, den SaphSaph, der von den Söhnen des RaphaRapha war.18 And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which was of the sons of the giant.1011
19 Und wiederum begann der KampfKampf mit den PhilisternPhilistern, bei GobGob. Und ElchananElchanan, der SohnSohn Jaare-OrgimsJaare-Orgims, der BethlehemiterBethlehemiter, erschlug GoliathGoliath, den Gatiter7; und der Schaft seines SpeeresSpeeres war wie ein Weberbaum.19 And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.12
20 Und wiederum entstand ein KampfKampf in GatGat. Da war ein MannMann von großer Länge, und er hatte je 6 Finger an seinen Händen und je 6 Zehen an seinen Füßen, 24 an der Zahl; und auch er war dem RaphaRapha geboren worden. 20 And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.13
21 Und er höhnte IsraelIsrael; und JonathanJonathan, der SohnSohn SchimeasSchimeas, des BrudersBruders DavidsDavids, erschlug ihn.21 And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea the brother of David slew him.14
22 Diese vier wurden dem RaphaRapha in GatGat geboren; und sie fielen durch die Hand DavidsDavids und durch die Hand seiner KnechteKnechte.22 These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
