1 Und es geschah, als JesusJesus alle diese Reden vollendet hatte, sprach er zu seinen JüngernJüngern:1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,
2 Ihr wisst, dass nach zwei Tagen das PassahPassah ist, und der SohnSohn des Menschen wird überliefert, um gekreuzigt zu werden.2 Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.
3 Dann versammelten sich die Hohenpriester und die Ältesten des Volkes in den Hof des Hohenpriesters, der KajaphasKajaphas hieß,3 Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,
4 und ratschlagten miteinander, damit sie JesusJesus mit List griffen und töteten. 4 And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.
5 Sie sagten aber: Nicht an dem Fest, damit nicht ein Aufruhr unter dem Volk entstehe. 5 But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.
6 Als aber JesusJesus in BethanienBethanien war, im HausHaus SimonsSimons, des Aussätzigen,6 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
7 kam eine FrauFrau zu ihm, die ein Alabasterfläschchen mit sehr kostbarer SalbeSalbe hatte, und goss es aus auf sein HauptHaupt, als er zu Tisch lag.7 There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.
8 Als aber die JüngerJünger es sahen, wurden sie unwillig und sprachen: Wozu diese Verschwendung?8 But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?
9 Denn dieses hätte für viel GeldGeld verkauft und den Armen gegeben werden können. 9 For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
10 Als aber JesusJesus es erkannte, sprach er zu ihnen: Was macht ihr der FrauFrau Mühe? Denn sie hat ein gutes Werk an mir getan; 10 When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.
11 denn die Armen habt ihr allezeit bei euch, mich aber habt ihr nicht allezeit.11 For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.
12 Denn indem sie diese SalbeSalbe über meinen Leib geschüttet hat, hat sie es zu meinem Begräbnis1 getan. 12 For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.
13 Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wo irgend dieses EvangeliumEvangelium gepredigt werden wird in der ganzen WeltWelt, wird auch von dem geredet werden, was diese getan hat, zu ihrem Gedächtnis.13 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.
14 Dann ging einer von den Zwölfen, der JudasJudas IskariotIskariot genannt war, zu den Hohenpriestern 14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
15 und sprach: Was wollt ihr mir geben, und ich werde ihn euch überliefern? Sie aber stellten ihm 30 Silberstücke2 fest3.15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
16 Und von da an suchte er Gelegenheit, damit er ihn überliefere.16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
17 An dem ersten TagTag der ungesäuerten BroteBrote aber traten die JüngerJünger zu JesusJesus und sprachen: Wo willst du, dass wir dir bereiten, das PassahPassah zu essen? 17 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?
18 Er aber sprach: Geht in die Stadt zu dem und dem und sprecht zu ihm: Der LehrerLehrer sagt: Meine ZeitZeit ist nahe; bei dir halte ich das PassahPassah mit meinen JüngernJüngern.18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.
19 Und die JüngerJünger taten, wie JesusJesus ihnen befohlen hatte, und bereiteten das PassahPassah.19 And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.
20 Als es aber AbendAbend geworden war, legte er sich mit den Zwölfen zu Tisch.20 Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.
21 Und während sie aßen, sprach er: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Einer von euch wird mich überliefern.21 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
22 Und sie wurden sehr betrübt und fingen an, jeder von ihnen zu ihm zu sagen: Ich bin es doch nicht, HerrHerr? 22 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?
23 Er aber antwortete und sprach: Der mit mir die Hand in die SchüsselSchüssel eintaucht4, dieser wird mich überliefern. 23 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.
24 Der SohnSohn des Menschen geht zwar dahin, wie über ihn geschrieben steht; wehe aber jenem Menschen, durch den der SohnSohn des Menschen überliefert wird! Es wäre jenem Menschen gut, wenn er nicht geboren wäre. 24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
25 JudasJudas aber, der ihn überlieferte, antwortete und sprach: Ich bin es doch nicht, RabbiRabbi? Er spricht zu ihm: Du hast es gesagt.25 Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.
26 Während sie aber aßen, nahm JesusJesus BrotBrot, segnete5, brach und gab es den JüngernJüngern und sprach: Nehmt, esst; dies ist mein Leib.26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.1
27 Und er nahm [den] KelchKelch und dankte und gab ihnen denselben und sprach: Trinkt alle daraus. 27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
28 Denn dies ist mein BlutBlut, das des [neuen] BundesBundes, das für viele vergossen wird zur VergebungVergebung der Sünden.28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
29 Ich sage euch aber, dass ich von nun an nicht mehr von diesem Gewächs des Weinstocks trinken werde, bis an jenem TagTag, da ich es neu mit euch trinken werde in dem ReichReich meines VatersVaters. 29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.
30 Und als sie ein Loblied gesungen hatten, gingen sie hinaus nach dem Ölberg. 30 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.2
31 Da spricht JesusJesus zu ihnen: Ihr werdet euch alle in dieser NachtNacht an mir ärgern; denn es steht geschrieben: „Ich werde den Hirten schlagen, und die SchafeSchafe der HerdeHerde werden zerstreut werden“.6 31 Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
32 Nachdem ich aber auferweckt sein werde, werde ich vor euch hingehen nach GaliläaGaliläa. 32 But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.
33 PetrusPetrus aber antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Wenn sich alle an dir ärgern werden, ich werde mich niemals ärgern. 33 Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.3
34 JesusJesus sprach zu ihm: Wahrlich, ich sage dir, dass du in dieser NachtNacht, ehe der HahnHahn kräht, mich dreimal verleugnen wirst.34 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
35 PetrusPetrus spricht zu ihm: Selbst wenn ich mit dir sterben müsste, werde ich dich nicht verleugnen. Ebenso sprachen auch alle JüngerJünger.35 Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.
36 Dann kommt JesusJesus mit ihnen an einen Ort, genannt GethsemaneGethsemane, und er spricht zu den JüngernJüngern: Setzt euch hier, bis ich hingegangen bin und dort gebetetgebetet habe. 36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
37 Und er nahm den PetrusPetrus und die zwei Söhne des ZebedäusZebedäus mit, und fing an betrübt und beängstigt zu werden.37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
38 Dann spricht er zu ihnen: Meine SeeleSeele ist sehr betrübt bis zum TodTod; bleibt hier und wacht mit mir.38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
39 Und er ging ein wenig weiter und fiel auf sein Angesicht und betetebetete und sprach: Mein VaterVater, wenn es möglich ist, so gehe dieser KelchKelch an7 mir vorüber; doch nicht wie ich will, sondern wie du willst.39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
40 Und er kommt zu den JüngernJüngern und findet sie schlafend; und er spricht zu PetrusPetrus: Also nicht eine StundeStunde vermochtet ihr mit mir zu wachen?40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
41 Wacht und betetbetet, damit ihr nicht in VersuchungVersuchung kommt; der GeistGeist zwar ist willig, das FleischFleisch aber schwach.41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
42 Wiederum, zum zweiten Mal, ging er hin und betetebetete und sprach: Mein VaterVater, wenn dieser KelchKelch nicht [an8 mir] vorübergehen kann, ohne dass ich ihn trinke, so geschehe dein Wille.42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
43 Und als er kam, fand er sie wiederum schlafend, denn ihre AugenAugen waren beschwert.43 And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.
44 Und er ließ sie, ging wiederum hin, betetebetete zum dritten Mal und sprach dasselbe WortWort. 44 And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
45 Dann kommt er zu den JüngernJüngern und spricht zu ihnen: So schlaft denn fort und ruht aus; siehe, die StundeStunde ist nahe gekommen, und der SohnSohn des Menschen wird in Sünderhände überliefert. 45 Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
46 Steht auf, lasst uns gehen; siehe, nahe ist gekommen der mich überliefert.46 Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.
47 Und während er noch redete, siehe, da kam JudasJudas, einer der Zwölf, und mit ihm eine große Volksmenge mit SchwerternSchwertern und Stöcken, von den Hohenpriestern und Ältesten des Volkes.47 And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 Der ihn aber überlieferte, hatte ihnen ein ZeichenZeichen gegeben und gesagt: Wen irgend ich küssen werde, der ist es; ihn greift.48 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
49 Und sogleich trat er zu JesusJesus und sprach: Sei gegrüßt, RabbiRabbi!, und küsste ihn sehr9.49 And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
50 JesusJesus aber sprach zu ihm: Freund, wozu bist du gekommen! Dann traten sie herzu und legten die Hände an JesusJesus und griffen ihn.50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.
51 Und siehe, einer von denen, die mit JesusJesus waren, streckte die Hand aus, zog sein SchwertSchwert und schlug den KnechtKnecht des Hohenpriesters und hieb ihm das OhrOhr ab.51 And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.
52 Da spricht JesusJesus zu ihm: Stecke dein SchwertSchwert wieder an seinen Ort; denn alle, die das SchwertSchwert nehmen, werden durchs SchwertSchwert umkommen. 52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
53 Oder meinst du, dass ich nicht jetzt meinen VaterVater bitten könne, und er mir mehr als zwölf Legionen EngelEngel stellen werde?53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
54 Wie sollten denn die SchriftenSchriften erfüllt werden, dass es so geschehen muss?54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
55 In jener StundeStunde sprach JesusJesus zu den Volksmengen: Seid ihr ausgezogen wie gegen einen RäuberRäuber mit SchwerternSchwertern und Stöcken, mich zu fangen? Täglich saß ich bei euch, im Tempel10 lehrend, und ihr habt mich nicht gegriffen.55 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
56 Aber dies alles ist geschehen, damit die SchriftenSchriften der ProphetenPropheten erfüllt würden. Da verließen ihn die JüngerJünger alle und flohen.56 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
57 Die aber JesusJesus gegriffen hatten, führten ihn weg zu KajaphasKajaphas, dem Hohenpriester, wo die Schriftgelehrten und die Ältesten versammelt waren.57 And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
58 PetrusPetrus aber folgte ihm von ferne bis zu dem Hof des Hohenpriesters und ging hinein und setzte sich zu den DienernDienern, um das Ende zu sehen. 58 But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.
59 Die Hohenpriester aber und die Ältesten und das ganze SynedriumSynedrium suchten falsches ZeugnisZeugnis gegen JesusJesus, damit sie ihn zum TodTod brächten; 59 Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;
60 und sie fanden keins, obwohl viele falsche Zeugen herzutraten. Zuletzt aber traten zwei falsche Zeugen herzu60 But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,
61 und sprachen: Dieser sagte: Ich kann den Tempel11 GottesGottes abbrechen und ihn in drei Tagen aufbauen.61 And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.
62 Und der HohepriesterHohepriester stand auf und sprach zu ihm: Antwortest du nichts? Was zeugenzeugen diese gegen dich? 62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?
63 JesusJesus aber schwieg. Und der HohepriesterHohepriester hob an und sprach zu ihm: Ich beschwöre dich bei dem lebendigen GottGott, dass du uns sagst, ob du der ChristusChristus bist, der SohnSohn GottesGottes!63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
64 JesusJesus spricht zu ihm: Du hast es gesagt. Doch ich sage euch: Von nun an werdet ihr den SohnSohn des Menschen sitzen sehen zur Rechten der MachtMacht und kommen auf den Wolken des HimmelsHimmels. 64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
65 Da zerriss der HohepriesterHohepriester seine KleiderKleider und sprach: Er hat gelästert; was bedürfen wir noch Zeugen? Siehe, jetzt habt ihr die LästerungLästerung gehört. 65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.
66 Was meint ihr? Sie aber antworteten und sprachen: Er ist des TodesTodes schuldig.66 What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.
67 Dann spieen sie ihm ins Angesicht und schlugen ihn mit Fäusten; einige aber gaben ihm Backenstreiche 67 Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,4
68 und sprachen: Weissage uns, ChristusChristus, wer ist es, der dich schlug?68 Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?
69 PetrusPetrus aber saß draußen im Hof; und es trat eine MagdMagd zu ihm und sprach: Auch du warst mit JesusJesus, dem GaliläerGaliläer.69 Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.
70 Er aber leugnete vor allen und sprach: Ich weiß nicht, was du sagst.70 But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.
71 Als er aber in das Tor12 hinausgegangen war, sah ihn eine andere; und sie spricht zu denen, die dort waren: Auch dieser war mit JesusJesus, dem NazaräerNazaräer.71 And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.
72 Und wiederum leugnete er mit einem EidEid: Ich kenne den Menschen nicht!72 And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.
73 Kurz nachher aber traten die Dastehenden herzu und sprachen zu PetrusPetrus: Wahrhaftig, auch du bist einer von ihnen, denn auch deine Sprache macht dich offenbar. 73 And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.
74 Da fing er an sich zu verwünschen und zu schwören: Ich kenne den Menschen nicht! Und sogleich krähte der HahnHahn. 74 Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.
75 Und PetrusPetrus gedachte des WortesWortes Jesu, der [zu ihm] gesagt hatte: EheEhe der HahnHahn kräht, wirst du mich dreimal verleugnen. Und er ging hinaus und weinte bitterlich. 75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
