1 Ein gewisser MannMann aber, mit NamenNamen AnaniasAnanias, mit SapphiraSapphira, seiner FrauFrau, verkaufte ein Gut 1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
2 und schaffte von dem Kaufpreis beiseite, wovon auch die FrauFrau wusste; und er brachte einen gewissen Teil und legte ihn nieder zu den Füßen der ApostelApostel. 2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.
3 PetrusPetrus aber sprach: AnaniasAnanias, warum hat der SatanSatan dein HerzHerz erfüllt, dass du den Heiligen GeistGeist belogen und von dem Kaufpreis des Feldes beiseite geschafft hast? 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?1
4 Blieb es nicht dein, wenn es so blieb, und war es nicht, nachdem es verkauft war, in deiner GewaltGewalt? Was ist es, dass du dir diese Tat in deinem Herzen vorgenommen hast? Nicht Menschen hast du gelogen, sondern GottGott.4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
5 Als aber AnaniasAnanias diese WorteWorte hörte, fiel er hin und verschied. Und es kam große Furcht über alle, die es hörten.5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.
6 Die Jünglinge aber standen auf, rafften ihn zusammen und trugen ihn hinaus und begruben ihn. 6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.
7 Es geschah aber nach Verlauf von etwa drei Stunden, dass seine FrauFrau hereinkam, ohne zu wissen, was geschehen war.7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.
8 PetrusPetrus aber antwortete ihr: Sage mir, ob ihr für so viel das Feld hingegeben habt? Sie aber sprach: Ja, für so viel. 8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.
9 PetrusPetrus aber [sprach] zu ihr: Was ist es, dass ihr übereingekommen seid, den GeistGeist des HerrnHerrn zu versuchen? Siehe, die Füße derer, die deinen MannMann begraben haben, sind an der TürTür, und sie werden dich hinaustragen.9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.
10 Sie fiel aber sogleich zu seinen Füßen nieder und verschied. Und als die Jünglinge hereinkamen, fanden sie sie tot; und sie trugen sie hinaus und begruben sie bei ihrem MannMann. 10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.
11 Und es kam große Furcht über die ganze VersammlungVersammlung und über alle, die dies hörten.11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.
12 Aber durch die Hände der ApostelApostel geschahen viele ZeichenZeichen und WunderWunder unter dem Volk; (und sie waren alle einmütig in der Säulenhalle SalomosSalomos.12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.
13 Von den übrigen aber wagte keiner sich ihnen anzuschließen, sondern das Volk erhob sie. 13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.
14 Aber um so mehr Gläubige wurden dem HerrnHerrn hinzugetan1, Scharen2 von Männern sowohl als Frauen;) 14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)
15 so dass sie die Kranken auf die Straßen hinaustrugen und auf Betten und LagerLager legten, damit, wenn PetrusPetrus käme, auch nur sein Schatten einen von ihnen überschatten möchte. 15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.2
16 Es kam aber auch die Menge der umliegenden Städte nach JerusalemJerusalem zusammen, und sie brachten Kranke und von unreinen GeisternGeistern Geplagte, die alle geheilt wurden.16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
17 Der HohepriesterHohepriester aber stand auf und alle, die mit ihm waren, das ist die SekteSekte der SadduzäerSadduzäer, und wurden von Eifersucht3 erfüllt;17 Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,3
18 und sie legten die Hände an die ApostelApostel und setzten sie in öffentlichen Gewahrsam.18 And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.
19 Ein EngelEngel des HerrnHerrn aber öffnete während der NachtNacht die Türen des Gefängnisses und führte sie hinaus und sprach:19 But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,
20 Geht und stellt euch hin und redet in dem TempelTempel zu dem Volk alle WorteWorte dieses LebensLebens! 20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.
21 Als sie es aber gehört hatten, gingen sie frühmorgens in den TempelTempel und lehrten. Der HohepriesterHohepriester aber kam und die mit ihm waren, und sie riefen das SynedriumSynedrium und die ganze Ältestenschaft der Söhne IsraelsIsraels zusammen und sandten nach dem GefängnisGefängnis, dass sie herbeigeführt würden. 21 And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.
22 Als aber die DienerDiener hinkamen, fanden sie sie nicht in dem GefängnisGefängnis; und sie kehrten zurück, berichteten 22 But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned, and told,
23 und sagten: Wir fanden das GefängnisGefängnis mit aller Sorgfalt verschlossen und die Wachen an den Türen stehen; als wir aber aufgemacht hatten, fanden wir niemand darin.23 Saying, The prison truly found we shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.
24 Als aber sowohl [der PriesterPriester und] der HauptmannHauptmann des TempelsTempels als auch die Hohenpriester diese WorteWorte hörten, waren sie über sie in Verlegenheit, was dies doch werden möchte. 24 Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this would grow.
25 Es kam aber einer und berichtete ihnen: Siehe, die Männer, die ihr ins GefängnisGefängnis gesetzt habt, sind im TempelTempel, stehen und lehren das Volk. 25 Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.
26 Da ging der HauptmannHauptmann mit den DienernDienern hin und führte sie herbei, nicht mit GewaltGewalt, denn sie fürchteten das Volk, sie möchten gesteinigt werden.26 Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.
27 Sie führten sie aber herbei und stellten sie vor das SynedriumSynedrium; und der HohepriesterHohepriester befragte sie27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,
28 und sprach: Wir haben euch streng geboten, in diesem Namen4 nicht zu lehren, und siehe, ihr habt JerusalemJerusalem erfüllt mit eurer LehreLehre und wollt das BlutBlut dieses Menschen auf uns bringen.28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
29 PetrusPetrus und die ApostelApostel aber antworteten und sprachen: Man muss GottGott mehr gehorchen als Menschen.29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
30 Der GottGott unserer VäterVäter hat JesusJesus auferweckt, den ihr ermordet habt, indem ihr ihn an ein HolzHolz hängtet.30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
31 Diesen hat GottGott durch seine Rechte zum Führer und HeilandHeiland erhöht, um IsraelIsrael BußeBuße und VergebungVergebung der Sünden zu geben.31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
32 Und wir sind [seine] Zeugen von diesen Dingen5, aber auch der HeiligeHeilige GeistGeist, den GottGott denen gegeben hat, die ihm gehorchen. 32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
33 Sie aber wurden, als sie es hörten, durchbohrt und ratschlagten, sie umzubringen.33 When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.
34 Es stand aber einer in dem SynedriumSynedrium auf, ein PharisäerPharisäer, mit NamenNamen GamalielGamaliel, ein GesetzgelehrterGesetzgelehrter, angesehen bei dem ganzen Volk, und befahl, die Leute eine kurze ZeitZeit hinauszutun. 34 Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;
35 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Männer von IsraelIsrael, seht euch vor wegen dieser Menschen, was ihr tun wollt.35 And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.
36 Denn vor diesen Tagen stand TheudasTheudas auf und sagte, dass er selbst etwas sei, dem eine Anzahl von etwa 400 Männern anhing; der ist getötet worden, und alle, so viele ihm Gehör gaben, sind zerstreut und zunichte geworden. 36 For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.4
37 Nach diesem stand JudasJudas der GaliläerGaliläer auf, in den Tagen der EinschreibungEinschreibung, und machte das Volk abfällig sich nach; auch der kam um, und alle, so viele ihm Gehör gaben, wurden zerstreut. 37 After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.5
38 Und jetzt sage ich euch: Steht ab von diesen Menschen und lasst sie (denn wenn dieser RatRat oder dieses Werk aus Menschen ist, so wird es zugrunde gehen;38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:
39 wenn es aber aus GottGott ist, so werdet ihr sie nicht zugrunde richten können), damit ihr nicht gar als solche befunden werdet, die gegen GottGott kämpfen6. 39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
40 Und sie gaben ihm Gehör; und als sie die ApostelApostel herbeigerufen hatten, schlugen sie sie und geboten ihnen, nicht in dem NamenNamen Jesu zu reden, und entließen sie. 40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41 Sie nun gingen aus dem SynedriumSynedrium weg, voll Freude7, dass sie gewürdigt worden waren, für den NamenNamen Schmach zu leiden; 41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
42 und jeden TagTag, in dem TempelTempel und in den Häusern, hörten sie nicht auf, zu lehren und JesusJesus als den ChristusChristus zu verkündigen8. 42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
