1 Und1 DavidDavid beriet sich mit den Obersten über 1000 und über 100, mit allen2 Fürsten.1 And David consulted with the captains of thousands and hundreds, and with every leader.
2 Und DavidDavid sprach zu der ganzen VersammlungVersammlung IsraelsIsraels: Wenn ihr es für gut haltet, und wenn es von dem HERRN, unserem GottGott, ist, so lasst uns allenthalben umhersenden3 zu unseren übrigen BrüdernBrüdern in allen Landen IsraelsIsraels, und mit ihnen zu den PriesternPriestern und zu den LevitenLeviten in den Städten ihrer Bezirke, dass sie sich zu uns versammeln. 2 And David said unto all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of the LORD our God, let us send abroad unto our brethren every where, that are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also to the priests and Levites which are in their cities and suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us:12
3 Und wir wollen die LadeLade unseres GottesGottes zu uns herüberholen; denn wir haben sie in den Tagen SaulsSauls nicht befragt4.3 And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Saul.3
4 Und die ganze VersammlungVersammlung sprach, dass man so tun sollte; denn die Sache war recht in den AugenAugen des ganzen Volkes.4 And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.
5 Und DavidDavid versammelte ganz IsraelIsrael, von dem SichorSichor Ägyptens bis nach HamatHamat hin, um die LadeLade GottesGottes von Kirjat-JearimKirjat-Jearim zu bringen. 5 So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjathjearim.
6 Und DavidDavid und ganz IsraelIsrael zogen hinauf nach BaalaBaala, nach Kirjat-JearimKirjat-Jearim, das zu JudaJuda gehört, um von dort die LadeLade GottesGottes, des HERRN, heraufzuholen, der zwischen5 den CherubimCherubim thront, dessen Name dort angerufen wird6.6 And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kirjathjearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the LORD, that dwelleth between the cherubims, whose name is called on it.
7 Und sie fuhren die LadeLade GottesGottes auf einem neuen WagenWagen aus dem HausHaus AbinadabsAbinadabs weg; und UssaUssa und AchjoAchjo führten den WagenWagen.7 And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart.4
8 Und DavidDavid und ganz IsraelIsrael spielten vor GottGott mit aller KraftKraft: mit Gesängen und mit Lauten und mit Harfen und mit Tamburinen und mit ZimbelnZimbeln und mit TrompetenTrompeten.8 And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.5
9 Und als sie zur Tenne KidonKidon kamen, da streckte UssaUssa seine Hand aus, um die LadeLade anzufassen; denn die RinderRinder hatten sich losgerissen7.9 And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.67
10 Da entbrannte der ZornZorn des HERRN gegen UssaUssa, und er schlug ihn, weil er seine Hand nach der LadeLade ausgestreckt hatte; und er starb dort vor GottGott.10 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.
11 Und DavidDavid entbrannte8, weil der HERR einen Bruch an UssaUssa gemacht hatte; und er nannte jenen Ort Perez-UssaUssa9 bis auf diesen TagTag.11 And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perezuzza to this day.8
12 Und DavidDavid fürchtete sich vor GottGott an diesem TagTag und sprach: Wie soll ich die LadeLade GottesGottes zu mir bringen? 12 And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?
13 Und DavidDavid ließ die LadeLade nicht zu sich einkehren in die Stadt DavidsDavids; und er ließ sie beiseite bringen in das HausHaus Obed-EdomsObed-Edoms, des GatitersGatiters.13 So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.9
14 Und die LadeLade GottesGottes blieb bei der Familie10 Obed-EdomsObed-Edoms, in seinem HausHaus, drei MonateMonate. Und der HERR segnete das HausHaus Obed-EdomsObed-Edoms und alles, was sein war.14 And the ark of God remained with the family of Obededom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obededom, and all that he had.
