1 JesusJesus aber, voll Heiligen GeistesGeistes, kehrte vom JordanJordan zurück und wurde durch1 den GeistGeist in der WüsteWüste 40 TageTage umhergeführt,1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
2 indem er von dem TeufelTeufel versucht wurde. Und er aß in jenen Tagen nichts; und als sie vollendet waren, hungerte ihn.2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.
3 Und der TeufelTeufel sprach zu ihm: Wenn du GottesGottes SohnSohn bist, so sprich zu diesem Stein, dass er BrotBrot werde. 3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.
4 Und JesusJesus antwortete ihm [und sprach]: Es steht geschrieben: „Nicht von BrotBrot allein soll der MenschMensch leben, sondern von jedem WortWort GottesGottes.“24 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
5 Und [der TeufelTeufel] führte ihn auf einen hohen BergBerg und zeigte ihm in einem Augenblick alle ReicheReiche des Erdkreises.5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 Und der TeufelTeufel sprach zu ihm: Ich will dir alle diese GewaltGewalt und ihre HerrlichkeitHerrlichkeit geben; denn mir ist sie übergeben, und wem irgend ich will, gebe ich sie. 6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
7 Wenn du nun vor mir anbeten3 willst, soll sie alle dein sein. 7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.1
8 Und JesusJesus antwortete ihm und sprach: Es steht geschrieben: „Du sollst den HerrnHerrn, deinen GottGott, anbeten und ihm allein dienen.“48 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
9 Und er führte ihn nach JerusalemJerusalem und stellte ihn auf die ZinneZinne des Tempels5 und sprach zu ihm: Wenn du GottesGottes SohnSohn bist, so wirf dich von hier hinab; 9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:
10 denn es steht geschrieben: „Er wird seinen Engeln über dir befehlen, dass sie dich bewahren“; 10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:
11 und: „Sie werden dich auf Händen tragen, damit du nicht etwa deinen Fuß an einen Stein stoßest“.611 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
12 Und JesusJesus antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Es ist gesagt: „Du sollst den HerrnHerrn, deinen GottGott, nicht versuchen.“712 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
13 Und als der TeufelTeufel jede VersuchungVersuchung vollendet hatte, wich er für eine ZeitZeit8 von ihm.13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.
14 Und JesusJesus kehrte in der KraftKraft des GeistesGeistes nach GaliläaGaliläa zurück, und die Nachricht über ihn ging aus durch die ganze Umgegend. 14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
15 Und er lehrte in ihren Synagogen, geehrt von allen.15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
16 Und er kam nach NazarethNazareth, wo er erzogen worden war; und er ging nach seiner Gewohnheit am Sabbattag in die SynagogeSynagoge und stand auf, um vorzulesen. 16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17 Und es wurde ihm das BuchBuch des ProphetenPropheten JesajaJesaja gereicht; und als er das BuchBuch aufgerollt hatte, fand er die Stelle, wo geschrieben war:17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18 „Der GeistGeist des HerrnHerrn ist auf mir, weil er mich gesalbt hat, Armen gute Botschaft zu verkündigen; er hat mich gesandt, Gefangenen BefreiungBefreiung auszurufen und Blinden das Gesicht, Zerschlagene in FreiheitFreiheit hinzusenden,18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 auszurufen das angenehme9 JahrJahr des HerrnHerrn.“1019 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 Und als er das BuchBuch zugerollt hatte, gab er es dem DienerDiener zurück und setzte sich; und aller AugenAugen in der SynagogeSynagoge waren auf ihn gerichtet. 20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 Er fing aber an, zu ihnen zu sagen: Heute ist diese Schrift vor euren Ohren erfüllt.21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
22 Und alle gaben ihm ZeugnisZeugnis und verwunderten sich über die WorteWorte der GnadeGnade, die aus seinem Mund hervorgingen; und sie sprachen: Ist dieser nicht der SohnSohn JosephsJosephs?22 And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?
23 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Ihr werdet allerdings dieses Sprichwort11 zu mir sagen: ArztArzt, heile dich selbst; alles, was wir gehört haben, dass es in KapernaumKapernaum geschehen sei, tu auch hier in deiner Vaterstadt.23 And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.
24 Er sprach aber: Wahrlich, ich sage euch, dass kein ProphetProphet in seiner Vaterstadt angenehm12 ist. 24 And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.
25 In WahrheitWahrheit aber sage ich euch: Viele Witwen waren in den Tagen EliasElias in IsraelIsrael, als der HimmelHimmel 3 JahreJahre und 6 MonateMonate verschlossen war, so dass eine große HungersnotHungersnot über das ganze Land kam;25 But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;
26 und zu keiner von ihnen wurde EliaElia gesandt als nur nach SareptaSarepta in SidonSidon, zu einer FrauFrau, einer Witwe. 26 But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.
27 Und viele Aussätzige waren zur ZeitZeit des ProphetenPropheten ElisaElisa in IsraelIsrael, und keiner von ihnen wurde gereinigt als nur NaamanNaaman, der Syrer.27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.
28 Und alle wurden von Wut erfüllt in der SynagogeSynagoge, als sie dies hörten.28 And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,
29 Und sie standen auf und stießen ihn zur Stadt hinaus und führten ihn bis an den Rand des BergesBerges, auf dem ihre Stadt erbaut war, um ihn so hinabzustürzen.29 And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.2
30 Er aber, durch ihre Mitte hindurchgehend, ging weg. 30 But he passing through the midst of them went his way,
31 Und er kam nach KapernaumKapernaum hinab, einer Stadt in GaliläaGaliläa, und lehrte sie an den Sabbaten.31 And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.
32 Und sie erstaunten sehr über seine LehreLehre, denn sein WortWort war mit GewaltGewalt. 32 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.
33 Und es war in der SynagogeSynagoge ein MenschMensch, der einen GeistGeist eines unreinen DämonsDämons hatte, und er schrie auf mit lauter Stimme33 And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,
34 und sprach: Lass ab!13 was haben wir mit dir zu schaffen, JesusJesus, NazarenerNazarener? Bist du gekommen, uns zu verderben? Ich kenne dich, wer du bist: der HeiligeHeilige GottesGottes. 34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.3
35 Und JesusJesus bedrohte ihn und sprach: Verstumme und fahre aus von ihm! Und als der DämonDämon ihn mitten unter sie geworfen hatte, fuhr er von ihm aus, ohne ihn zu beschädigen. 35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
36 Und Entsetzen kam über alle, und sie redeten untereinander und sprachen: Was ist dies für ein WortWort? Denn mit GewaltGewalt und KraftKraft gebietet er den unreinen GeisternGeistern, und sie fahren aus. 36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
37 Und die Nachricht über ihn ging aus in jeden Ort der Umgegend. 37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.
38 Er machte sich aber auf von der SynagogeSynagoge und kam in das HausHaus SimonsSimons. Die Schwiegermutter des SimonSimon aber war von einem starken FieberFieber befallen; und sie baten ihn für sie.38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.
39 Und über ihr stehend, bedrohte er das FieberFieber, und es verließ sie; sie aber stand sogleich auf und diente ihnen. 39 And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.
40 Als aber die SonneSonne unterging, brachten alle, die an unterschiedlichsten Krankheiten Leidende hatten, dieselben zu ihm; er aber legte jedem von ihnen die Hände auf und heilte sie. 40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
41 Und auch Dämonen fuhren von vielen aus, indem sie schrien und sprachen: Du bist der SohnSohn GottesGottes. Und er bedrohte sie und ließ sie nicht reden, weil sie wussten, dass er der ChristusChristus war. 41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.4
42 Als es aber TagTag geworden war, ging er aus und begab sich an einen öden Ort; und die Volksmengen suchten ihn auf und kamen bis zu ihm, und sie hielten ihn auf, dass er nicht von ihnen ginge. 42 And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.
43 Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Ich muss auch den anderen Städten das EvangeliumEvangelium vom ReichReich GottesGottes verkündigen, denn dazu bin ich gesandt worden.43 And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.
44 Und er predigte in den Synagogen von GaliläaGaliläa.44 And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.
