1 Und im 12. Monat, das ist der Monat AdarAdar, am 13. TagTag desselben, als das WortWort des Königs und sein Befehl zur Ausführung kommen sollten, an dem TagTag da die Feinde der Juden gehofft hatten, sie zu überwältigen, (es wandte sich aber, so dass sie, die Juden, ihre Hasser überwältigten) 1 Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king's commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them, (though it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated them;)
2 da versammelten sich die Juden in ihren Städten, in allen Landschaften des Königs AhasverosAhasveros, um Hand an diejenigen zu legen, die ihr Unglück suchten. Und niemand konnte vor ihnen bestehen, denn die Furcht vor ihnen war auf alle Völker gefallen.2 The Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought their hurt: and no man could withstand them; for the fear of them fell upon all people.
3 Und alle Fürsten der Landschaften und die Satrapen und die StatthalterStatthalter und diejenigen, die die Geschäfte des Königs besorgten, unterstützten die Juden; denn die Furcht vor MordokaiMordokai war auf sie gefallen.3 And all the rulers of the provinces, and the lieutenants, and the deputies, and officers of the king, helped the Jews; because the fear of Mordecai fell upon them.1
4 Denn MordokaiMordokai war groß im HausHaus des Königs, und sein RufRuf ging durch alle Landschaften; denn der MannMann MordokaiMordokai wurde immerfort größer.4 For Mordecai was great in the king's house, and his fame went out throughout all the provinces: for this man Mordecai waxed greater and greater.
5 Und die Juden richteten unter allen ihren Feinden eine Niederlage an, indem sie sie erstachen, ermordeten und umbrachten1; und sie taten an ihren Hassern nach ihrem Wohlgefallen.5 Thus the Jews smote all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, and slaughter, and destruction, and did what they would unto those that hated them.2
6 Und in der BurgBurg SusanSusan töteten die Juden und brachten um 500 MannMann;6 And in Shushan the palace the Jews slew and destroyed five hundred men.
7 und sie töteten ParschandataParschandata und DalphonDalphon und AspataAspata7 And Parshandatha, and Dalphon, and Aspatha,
8 und PorataPorata und AdaljaAdalja und AridataAridata8 And Poratha, and Adalia, and Aridatha,
9 und ParmaschtaParmaschta und ArisaiArisai und AridaiAridai und WajesataWajesata,9 And Parmashta, and Arisai, and Aridai, and Vajezatha,
10 die zehn Söhne HamansHamans, des SohnesSohnes HammedatasHammedatas, des WidersachersWidersachers der Juden; aber an die BeuteBeute legten sie ihre Hand nicht.10 The ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews, slew they; but on the spoil laid they not their hand.
11 An diesem TagTag kam die Zahl der in der BurgBurg SusanSusan Getöteten vor den König. 11 On that day the number of those that were slain in Shushan the palace was brought before the king.3
12 Und der König sprach zu der KöniginKönigin EstherEsther: In der BurgBurg SusanSusan haben die Juden 500 MannMann und die zehn Söhne HamansHamans getötet und umgebracht; was mögen sie in den übrigen Landschaften des Königs getan haben! Doch was ist deine Bitte? Und sie soll dir gewährt werden. Und was ist noch dein Begehr? Und es soll geschehen.12 And the king said unto Esther the queen, The Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men in Shushan the palace, and the ten sons of Haman; what have they done in the rest of the king's provinces? now what is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: or what is thy request further? and it shall be done.
13 Und EstherEsther sprach: Wenn der König es für gut hält, so werde auch morgen den Juden, die in SusanSusan sind, gestattet, nach dem heutigen Befehl zu tun; und die zehn Söhne HamansHamans hänge man an das HolzHolz. 13 Then said Esther, If it please the king, let it be granted to the Jews which are in Shushan to do to morrow also according unto this day's decree, and let Haman's ten sons be hanged upon the gallows.4
14 Da befahl der König, dass so geschehen sollte; und der Befehl wurde in SusanSusan erlassen, und man hängte die zehn Söhne HamansHamans. 14 And the king commanded it so to be done: and the decree was given at Shushan; and they hanged Haman's ten sons.
15 Und die Juden, die in SusanSusan waren, versammelten sich auch am 14. TagTag des Monats AdarAdar und töteten in SusanSusan 300 MannMann; aber an die BeuteBeute legten sie ihre Hand nicht.15 For the Jews that were in Shushan gathered themselves together on the fourteenth day also of the month Adar, and slew three hundred men at Shushan; but on the prey they laid not their hand.
16 Und die übrigen Juden, die in den Landschaften des Königs waren, versammelten sich und standen für ihr LebenLeben ein und erhielten RuheRuhe vor ihren Feinden; und sie töteten unter ihren Hassern 75000; aber an die BeuteBeute legten sie ihre Hand nicht.16 But the other Jews that were in the king's provinces gathered themselves together, and stood for their lives, and had rest from their enemies, and slew of their foes seventy and five thousand, but they laid not their hands on the prey,
17 Das geschah am 13. TagTag des Monats AdarAdar; und am 14. des Monats2 ruhten sie, und sie machten ihn zu einem TagTag des Gastmahls und der FreudeFreude.17 On the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of the same rested they, and made it a day of feasting and gladness.5
18 Aber die Juden, die in SusanSusan waren, hatten sich am 13. des Monats3 und am 14. des Monats4 versammelt; und sie ruhten am 15. des Monats5 und machten ihn zu einem TagTag des Gastmahls und der FreudeFreude.18 But the Jews that were at Shushan assembled together on the thirteenth day thereof, and on the fourteenth thereof; and on the fifteenth day of the same they rested, and made it a day of feasting and gladness.
19 Darum feiern die Juden des platten Landes, die in den offenen Städten wohnen, den 14. TagTag des Monats AdarAdar als einen TagTag der FreudeFreude und des Gastmahls und als einen Festtag, wo man einander Teile sendet6. 19 Therefore the Jews of the villages, that dwelt in the unwalled towns, made the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of gladness and feasting, and a good day, and of sending portions one to another.
20 Und MordokaiMordokai schrieb diese Begebenheiten auf. Und er sandte BriefeBriefe an alle Juden in allen Landschaften des Königs AhasverosAhasveros, die nahen und die fernen,20 And Mordecai wrote these things, and sent letters unto all the Jews that were in all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, both nigh and far,
21 um ihnen festzusetzen7, dass sie den 14. TagTag des Monats AdarAdar und den 15. TagTag desselben JahrJahr für JahrJahr feiern sollten21 To stablish this among them, that they should keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same, yearly,
22 als die TageTage, an denen die Juden RuheRuhe erlangt hatten vor ihren Feinden, und als den Monat, wo sich ihnen Kummer in FreudeFreude, und TrauerTrauer in einen Festtag verwandelt hatte – dass sie dieselben feiern sollten als TageTage des Gastmahls und der FreudeFreude, wo man einander Teile sendet8 und GeschenkeGeschenke an die Armen gibt.22 As the days wherein the Jews rested from their enemies, and the month which was turned unto them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a good day: that they should make them days of feasting and joy, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor.
23 Und die Juden nahmen als Brauch an, was sie zu tun angefangen und was MordokaiMordokai ihnen geschrieben hatte.23 And the Jews undertook to do as they had begun, and as Mordecai had written unto them;
24 Denn HamanHaman, der SohnSohn HammedatasHammedatas, der AgagiterAgagiter, der WidersacherWidersacher aller Juden, hatte gegen die Juden den Anschlag ersonnen, sie umzubringen, und hatte das PurPur, das ist das Los, geworfen, um sie zu vertilgen und sie umzubringen.24 Because Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of all the Jews, had devised against the Jews to destroy them, and had cast Pur, that is, the lot, to consume them, and to destroy them;6
25 Und als es vor den König kam, befahl er durch einen BriefBrief, dass sein böser Anschlag, den er gegen die Juden ersonnen hatte, auf seinen KopfKopf zurückkehre; und man hängte ihn und seine Söhne an das HolzHolz. 25 But when Esther came before the king, he commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.7
26 Darum nannte man diese TageTage PurimPurim, nach dem NamenNamen des PurPur. Deshalb, wegen all der WorteWorte dieses BriefesBriefes, sowohl dessen, was sie selbst davon gesehen hatten, als auch, was zu ihnen gelangt war, 26 Wherefore they called these days Purim after the name of Pur. Therefore for all the words of this letter, and of that which they had seen concerning this matter, and which had come unto them,8
27 setzten die Juden fest und nahmen auf sich und auf ihre Nachkommen und auf alle, die sich ihnen anschlossen, als eine ewige Satzung9, diese beiden TageTage zu feiern, nach dem was darüber geschrieben worden war, und nach ihrer bestimmten ZeitZeit, JahrJahr für JahrJahr;27 The Jews ordained, and took upon them, and upon their seed, and upon all such as joined themselves unto them, so as it should not fail, that they would keep these two days according to their writing, and according to their appointed time every year;9
28 und dass diese TageTage im Andenken bleiben und gefeiert werden sollten in jedem einzelnen GeschlechtGeschlecht, in jeder einzelnen Familie, in jeder einzelnen Landschaft und in jeder einzelnen Stadt; und dass diese Purimtage unter den Juden nicht untergehen, und ihr Andenken nicht aufhören sollte bei ihren Nachkommen.28 And that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city; and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor the memorial of them perish from their seed.1011
29 Und die KöniginKönigin EstherEsther, die TochterTochter AbichailsAbichails, und MordokaiMordokai, der JudeJude, schrieben mit allem Nachdruck, um diesen10 zweiten BriefBrief über die PurimPurim festzusetzen.29 Then Esther the queen, the daughter of Abihail, and Mordecai the Jew, wrote with all authority, to confirm this second letter of Purim.12
30 Und er sandte BriefeBriefe an alle Juden, in die 127 Landschaften, das Königreich AhasverosAhasveros', WorteWorte des Friedens und der Wahrheit11,30 And he sent the letters unto all the Jews, to the hundred twenty and seven provinces of the kingdom of Ahasuerus, with words of peace and truth,
31 um diese Purimtage in ihren bestimmten ZeitenZeiten festzusetzen, so wie MordokaiMordokai, der JudeJude, und die KöniginKönigin EstherEsther es ihnen festgesetzt hatten und wie sie es für sich selbst und für ihre Nachkommen festgesetzt hatten, nämlich die Angelegenheit der FastenFasten und ihrer Wehklage.31 To confirm these days of Purim in their times appointed, according as Mordecai the Jew and Esther the queen had enjoined them, and as they had decreed for themselves and for their seed, the matters of the fastings and their cry.13
32 Und der Befehl EsthersEsthers setzte diese Purim-Angelegenheit fest, und er wurde in ein BuchBuch geschrieben.32 And the decree of Esther confirmed these matters of Purim; and it was written in the book.
