1 Hört dieses WortWort, das ich über euch erhebe, ein Klagelied, HausHaus IsraelIsrael!1 Hear ye this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O house of Israel.
2 Sie ist gefallen, die JungfrauJungfrau IsraelIsrael, sie wird nicht wieder aufstehen; sie liegt hingeworfen auf ihrem Land, niemand richtet sie auf.2 The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up.
3 Denn so spricht der HerrHerr, HERRHERR: Die Stadt, die zu 1000 auszieht, wird 100 übrigbehalten, und die zu 100 auszieht, wird 10 übrigbehalten für das HausHaus IsraelIsrael. 3 For thus saith the Lord GOD; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel.
4 Denn so spricht der HERR zum HausHaus IsraelIsrael: Sucht mich und lebt.4 For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:
5 Und sucht nicht BethelBethel auf und geht nicht nach GilgalGilgal und geht nicht hinüber nach BeersebaBeerseba; denn GilgalGilgal wird gewisslich weggeführt und BethelBethel zunichte1 werden.5 But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nought.
6 Sucht den HERRN und lebt, damit er nicht in das HausHaus JosephsJosephs eindringe wie ein FeuerFeuer und es verzehre und für BethelBethel niemand da sei, der es lösche –6 Seek the LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.
7 sie verwandeln das Recht in WermutWermut und werfen die GerechtigkeitGerechtigkeit zu Boden –;7 Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,
8 sucht den, der das SiebengestirnSiebengestirn und den OrionOrion gemacht hat und den Todesschatten in MorgenMorgen verwandelt und den TagTag zur NachtNacht verfinstert, der den Wassern des MeeresMeeres ruft und sie ausgießt über die Fläche der ErdeErde:8 Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:
9 HERR ist sein Name; der VerwüstungVerwüstung losbrechen lässt über den Starken, und VerwüstungVerwüstung kommt über die FestungFestung.9 That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress.1
10 Sie hassen den, der im TorTor Recht spricht2, und verabscheuen den, der Tadelloses redet. 10 They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.
11 Darum, weil ihr den Armen niedertretet und Getreidegaben von ihm nehmt, habt ihr Häuser von behauenen Steinen gebaut und werdet nicht darin wohnen, liebliche WeinbergeWeinberge gepflanzt und werdet deren WeinWein nicht trinken. 11 Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them.2
12 Denn ich weiß, dass eurer Übertretungen viele und dass eure Sünden zahlreich sind; – sie bedrängen den Gerechten, nehmen LösegeldLösegeld und beugen das Recht der Dürftigen im TorTor. 12 For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.3
13 Darum schweigt der Einsichtige in dieser ZeitZeit, denn es ist eine böse ZeitZeit.13 Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time.
14 Trachtet nach dem Guten und nicht nach dem Bösen, damit ihr lebt; und der HERR, der GottGott der HeerscharenHeerscharen, wird so mit euch sein, wie ihr sagt.14 Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.
15 Hasst das Böse und liebt das Gute und richtet das Recht auf im TorTor; vielleicht wird der HERR, der GottGott der HeerscharenHeerscharen, dem Überrest JosephsJosephs gnädig sein.15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
16 Darum spricht der HERRHERR, der GottGott der HeerscharenHeerscharen, der HerrHerr, so: Auf allen Plätzen Wehklage! Und auf allen Gassen wird man sagen: WeheWehe, wehewehe! Und man wird den Ackersmann zur TrauerTrauer rufen, und die des Klageliedes Kundigen zur Wehklage; 16 Therefore the LORD, the God of hosts, the Lord, saith thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing.
17 und in allen Weinbergen wird Wehklage sein. Denn ich werde durch deine Mitte ziehen, spricht der HERR.17 And in all vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through thee, saith the LORD.
18 WeheWehe denen, die den TagTag des HERRN herbeiwünschen! Wozu soll euch der TagTag des HERRN sein? Er wird FinsternisFinsternis sein und nicht LichtLicht:18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.
19 Wie wenn jemand vor dem Löwen flieht, und es begegnet ihm ein BärBär; und er kommt nach HauseHause und stützt seine Hand an die Mauer, und es beißt ihn eine SchlangeSchlange.19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
20 Wird denn nicht der TagTag des HERRN FinsternisFinsternis sein und nicht LichtLicht, und DunkelheitDunkelheit und nicht Glanz?20 Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?
21 Ich hasse, ich verschmähe eure FesteFeste, und eure Festversammlungen mag ich nicht riechen:21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.4
22 Denn wenn ihr mir BrandopferBrandopfer und eure SpeisopferSpeisopfer opfert, habe ich kein Wohlgefallen daran; und das FriedensopferFriedensopfer von eurem Mastvieh mag ich nicht ansehen.22 Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.5
23 Tu den Lärm deiner LiederLieder von mir weg, und das Spiel deiner Harfen mag ich nicht hören.23 Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.
24 Aber das Recht wälze sich einher wie Wasser, und die GerechtigkeitGerechtigkeit wie ein immerfließender BachBach! 24 But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.6
25 Habt ihr mir 40 JahreJahre in der WüsteWüste SchlachtopferSchlachtopfer und SpeisopferSpeisopfer dargebracht, HausHaus IsraelIsrael?25 Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
26 Ja, ihr habt die HütteHütte eures Königs3 und das Gestell eurer Götzenbilder getragen,4 das Sternbild eures GottesGottes, die ihr euch gemacht hattet. 26 But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves.7
27 So werde ich euch jenseits DamaskusDamaskus wegführen, spricht der HERR, GottGott der HeerscharenHeerscharen ist sein Name. 27 Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith the LORD, whose name is The God of hosts.
