1 Und du, Bethlehem-EphrataBethlehem-Ephrata, zu klein, um unter den Tausenden von JudaJuda zu sein, aus dir wird mir hervorkommen, der Herrscher über IsraelIsrael sein soll; und seine Ausgänge1 sind von der Urzeit, von den Tagen der Ewigkeit her. 1 Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.
2 Darum wird er sie dahingeben bis zur ZeitZeit, da eine Gebärende geboren hat; und der Rest seiner BrüderBrüder wird zurückkehren samt2 den KindernKindern IsraelIsrael. 2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.1
3 Und er wird dastehen3 und seine HerdeHerde weiden in der KraftKraft des HERRN, in der Hoheit des NamensNamens des HERRN, seines GottesGottes. Und sie werden wohnen4; denn nun wird er groß sein bis an die Enden der ErdeErde.3 Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.
4 Und dieser wird FriedeFriede sein. Wenn AssyrienAssyrien in unser Land kommen und wenn es in unsere Paläste treten wird, so werden wir sieben Hirten und acht Menschenfürsten5 gegen dasselbe aufstellen.4 And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.2
5 Und sie werden das Land AssyrienAssyrien mit dem SchwertSchwert weiden, und das Land NimrodsNimrods in seinen Toren; und er wird uns von AssyrienAssyrien erretten, wenn es in unser Land kommen und wenn es in unsere Grenzen treten wird.5 And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.3
6 Und der Überrest JakobsJakobs wird inmitten vieler Völker sein wie ein TauTau von dem HERRN, wie Regenschauer auf das Kraut, der nicht auf Menschen wartet und nicht auf Menschenkinder harrt.6 And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.45
7 Und der Überrest JakobsJakobs wird unter den NationenNationen, inmitten vieler Völker, sein wie ein LöweLöwe unter den Tieren des WaldesWaldes, wie ein junger LöweLöwe unter den Schafherden, der, wenn er hindurchgeht, zertritt und zerreißt, und niemand errettet. –7 And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men.
8 Hoch erhoben sei deine Hand über deine Bedränger, und alle deine Feinde mögen ausgerottet werden!8 And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.6
9 Und es wird geschehen an jenem TagTag, spricht der HERR, da werde ich deine PferdePferde ausrotten aus deiner Mitte und deine WagenWagen vernichten.9 Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off.
10 Und ich werde ausrotten die Städte deines Landes und alle deine FestungenFestungen niederreißen.10 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots:
11 Und ich werde die Wahrsagereien ausrotten aus deiner Hand, und du wirst keine ZaubererZauberer mehr haben.11 And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down all thy strong holds:
12 Und ich werde deine geschnitzten BilderBilder und deine Bildsäulen aus deiner Mitte ausrotten, und du wirst dich nicht mehr niederwerfen vor dem Werk deiner Hände.12 And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers:
13 Und ich werde deine AscherimAscherim herausreißen aus deiner Mitte und deine Städte vertilgen.13 Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands.7
14 Und ich werde in ZornZorn und in Grimm Rache üben an den NationenNationen, die nicht gehört haben.14 And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee: so will I destroy thy cities.8
