6 dieser EsraEsra zog herauf von BabelBabel; und er war ein kundiger Schriftgelehrter in dem GesetzGesetz MosesMoses, das der HERR, der GottGott IsraelsIsraels, gegeben hatte. Und weil die Hand des HERRN, seines GottesGottes, über ihm warERRN ... über ihm; so auch V. 9.28 usw.">1, gab ihm der König all sein Begehr.6 This Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him.
7 Und es zog mit ihm eine Anzahl von den KindernKindern IsraelIsrael und von den PriesternPriestern und den LevitenLeviten und den Sängern und den TorhüternTorhütern und den Nethinim2 nach JerusalemJerusalem hinauf, im 7. JahrJahr des Königs ArtasastaArtasasta. 7 And there went up some of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, unto Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.
8 Und er kam nach JerusalemJerusalem im 5. Monat, das war das 7. JahrJahr des Königs. 8 And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king.
9 Denn am 1. des 1. Monats hatte er den Hinaufzug aus BabelBabel festgesetzt3; und am 1. des 5. Monats kam er nach JerusalemJerusalem, weil die gute Hand seines GottesGottes über ihm war. 9 For upon the first day of the first month began he to go up from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month came he to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him.1
10 Denn EsraEsra hatte sein HerzHerz darauf gerichtet, das GesetzGesetz des HERRN zu erforschen und zu tun und in IsraelIsrael SatzungSatzung und Recht zu lehren.10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.
11 Und dies ist die Abschrift des BriefesBriefes, den der König ArtasastaArtasasta dem PriesterPriester EsraEsra, dem Schriftgelehrten, gab, dem Schriftgelehrten in den Worten der GeboteGebote des HERRN und seinen SatzungenSatzungen für4 IsraelIsrael:11 Now this is the copy of the letter that the king Artaxerxes gave unto Ezra the priest, the scribe, even a scribe of the words of the commandments of the LORD, and of his statutes to Israel.
12 ArtasastaArtasasta, König der KönigeKönige, EsraEsra, dem PriesterPriester, dem vollkommenen Schriftgelehrten im GesetzGesetz des GottesGottes des HimmelsHimmels, und so weiter. 12 Artaxerxes, king of kings, unto Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect peace, and at such a time.2
13 Von mir wird Befehl gegeben, dass jeder in meinem ReichReich, von dem Volk IsraelIsrael und seinen PriesternPriestern und den LevitenLeviten, der bereitwillig ist, nach JerusalemJerusalem zu ziehen, mit dir ziehen mag. 13 I make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel, and of his priests and Levites, in my realm, which are minded of their own freewill to go up to Jerusalem, go with thee.
14 Weil du von dem König und seinen sieben Räten gesandt wirst, um eine Untersuchung über JudaJuda und JerusalemJerusalem anzustellen, nach dem GesetzGesetz deines GottesGottes, das in deiner Hand ist, 14 Forasmuch as thou art sent of the king, and of his seven counsellors, to enquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem, according to the law of thy God which is in thine hand;3
15 und das SilberSilber und das GoldGold hinzubringen, das der König und seine Räte dem GottGott IsraelsIsraels, dessen Wohnung in JerusalemJerusalem ist, freiwillig gegeben haben,15 And to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counsellors have freely offered unto the God of Israel, whose habitation is in Jerusalem,
16 sowie alles SilberSilber und GoldGold, das du in der ganzen Landschaft BabelBabel bekommen wirst, außer der freiwilligen Gabe des Volkes und der PriesterPriester, die freiwillig geben für das HausHaus ihres GottesGottes, das in JerusalemJerusalem ist;16 And all the silver and gold that thou canst find in all the province of Babylon, with the freewill offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem:
17 deshalb kaufe mit Fleiß für dieses GeldGeld StiereStiere, Widder, Lämmer, und ihre SpeisopferSpeisopfer und ihre TrankopferTrankopfer, und bringe sie dar auf dem AltarAltar des Hauses eures GottesGottes, das in JerusalemJerusalem ist. 17 That thou mayest buy speedily with this money bullocks, rams, lambs, with their meat offerings and their drink offerings, and offer them upon the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem.
18 Und was du und deine BrüderBrüder für gut halten, mit dem übrigen SilberSilber und GoldGold zu tun, das mögt ihr nach dem Willen eures GottesGottes tun. 18 And whatsoever shall seem good to thee, and to thy brethren, to do with the rest of the silver and the gold, that do after the will of your God.
19 Und die Geräte, die dir zum Dienst des Hauses deines GottesGottes gegeben worden sind, liefere ab vor dem GottGott JerusalemsJerusalems.19 The vessels also that are given thee for the service of the house of thy God, those deliver thou before the God of Jerusalem.
20 Und den übrigen Bedarf des Hauses deines GottesGottes, was dir auszugeben vorfallen wird, sollst du aus dem Schatzhaus des Königs ausgeben. – 20 And whatsoever more shall be needful for the house of thy God, which thou shalt have occasion to bestow, bestow it out of the king's treasure house.
21 Und von mir, dem König ArtasastaArtasasta, wird an alle Schatzmeister jenseits des Stromes Befehl gegeben, dass alles, was EsraEsra, der PriesterPriester, der SchriftgelehrteSchriftgelehrte im GesetzGesetz des GottesGottes des HimmelsHimmels, von euch fordern wird, pünktlich getan werde,21 And I, even I Artaxerxes the king, do make a decree to all the treasurers which are beyond the river, that whatsoever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, shall require of you, it be done speedily,
22 bis zu 100 Talenten SilberSilber und bis zu 100 KorKor WeizenWeizen und bis zu 100 Bath WeinWein und bis zu 100 Bath Öl, und SalzSalz ohne Maß5.22 Unto an hundred talents of silver, and to an hundred measures of wheat, and to an hundred baths of wine, and to an hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing how much.4
23 Alles, was nach dem Befehl des GottesGottes des HimmelsHimmels ist, soll für das HausHaus des GottesGottes des HimmelsHimmels sorgfältig getan werden; denn warum sollte ein ZornZorn kommen über das ReichReich des Königs und seiner Söhne?23 Whatsoever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be diligently done for the house of the God of heaven: for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?5
24 Und euch wird mitgeteilt, dass niemand ermächtigt ist, allen PriesternPriestern und LevitenLeviten, Sängern, TorhüternTorhütern, NethinimNethinim und DienernDienern dieses Hauses GottesGottes Steuer, ZollZoll und Weggeld aufzuerlegen.24 Also we certify you, that touching any of the priests and Levites, singers, porters, Nethinims, or ministers of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to impose toll, tribute, or custom, upon them.
25 Du aber, EsraEsra, bestelle nach der Weisheit deines GottesGottes, die bei dir6 ist, RichterRichter und Rechtspfleger, die alles Volk richten sollen, das jenseits des Stromes ist, alle, die die GesetzeGesetze deines GottesGottes kennen; und dem, der sie nicht kennt, sollt ihr sie mitteilen. 25 And thou, Ezra, after the wisdom of thy God, that is in thine hand, set magistrates and judges, which may judge all the people that are beyond the river, all such as know the laws of thy God; and teach ye them that know them not.
26 Und jeder, der das GesetzGesetz deines GottesGottes und das GesetzGesetz des Königs nicht tun wird, an dem soll mit EiferEifer GerichtGericht geübt werden, sei es zum TodTod oder zur Verbannung oder zur BußeBuße an Gütern oder zum GefängnisGefängnis.26 And whosoever will not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily upon him, whether it be unto death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.6
27 Gepriesen sei der HERR, der GottGott unserer VäterVäter, der dies in das HerzHerz des Königs gegeben hat, um das HausHaus des HERRN zu verherrlichen, das in JerusalemJerusalem ist,27 Blessed be the LORD God of our fathers, which hath put such a thing as this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem:
28 und der mir Güte zugewandt hat vor dem König und seinen Räten und allen mächtigen Fürsten des Königs! Und ich erstarkte, weil die Hand des HERRN, meines GottesGottes, über mir war, und ich versammelte Häupter aus IsraelIsrael, dass sie mit mir hinaufzögen.28 And hath extended mercy unto me before the king, and his counsellors, and before all the king's mighty princes. And I was strengthened as the hand of the LORD my God was upon me, and I gathered together out of Israel chief men to go up with me.
