1 Und der HERR bestellte einen großen FischFisch, um JonaJona zu verschlingen; und JonaJona war im Bauch des FischesFisches drei TageTage und drei Nächte.1 Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly,
2 Und JonaJona betetebetete zu dem HERRN, seinem GottGott, aus dem Bauch des FischesFisches und sprach:2 And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.12
3 Ich rief aus meiner BedrängnisBedrängnis zu dem HERRN, und er antwortete mir; ich schrie aus dem SchoßSchoß des ScheolsScheols, du hörtest meine Stimme.3 For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.3
4 Denn du hattest mich in die Tiefe, in das HerzHerz der MeereMeere geworfen, und der Strom umschloss mich; alle deine Wogen und deine Wellen fuhren über mich hin.4 Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.
5 Und ich sprach1: Verstoßen bin ich aus deinen AugenAugen; dennoch werde ich wieder hinschauen nach deinem heiligen TempelTempel. 5 The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.
6 Die Wasser umfingen mich bis an die SeeleSeele, die Tiefe umschloss mich, das Meergras schlang sich um mein HauptHaupt.6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.45
7 Ich fuhr hinab zu den Gründen der BergeBerge; der ErdeErde RiegelRiegel waren hinter mir auf ewig. Da führtest du mein LebenLeben aus der GrubeGrube herauf, HERR, mein GottGott.7 When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
8 Als meine SeeleSeele in mir verschmachtete, gedachte ich des HERRN, und zu dir kam mein GebetGebet in deinen heiligen Tempel2. 8 They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
9 Die auf nichtige Götzen achten, verlassen ihre Gnade3.9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.
10 Ich aber werde dir opfern mit der Stimme des Lobes4; was ich gelobt habe werde ich bezahlen. Bei dem HERRNERRN">5 ist die Rettung.10 And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
11 Und der HERR befahl dem FischFisch, und er spie JonaJona an das Land aus.
