1 Das Wort Jehovas, welches zu Hosea, dem Sohne Beeris, geschah in den Tagen Ussijas, Jothams, Ahas', Hiskias, der Könige von Juda, und in den Tagen Jerobeams, des Sohnes Joas', des Königs von Israel.

2 The beginning of the word of Jehovah through Hosea. And Jehovah said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms, and children of whoredoms; for the land is entirely given up to whoredom, away from Jehovah.

2 Als Jehova anfing mit Hosea zu reden, da sprach Jehova zu Hosea: Gehe hin, nimm dir ein Hurenweib und Hurenkinder; denn das Land treibt beständig Hurerei, von¹ Jehova hinweg.

3 And he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; and she conceived and bore him a son.

3 Und er ging hin und nahm Gomer, die Tochter Diblaims; und sie ward schwanger und gebar ihm einen Sohn.

4 And Jehovah said unto him, Call his name Jizreel; for yet a little, and I will visit the blood of Jizreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause the kingdom of the house of Israel to cease.

8 Und sie entwöhnte die Lo-Ruchama. Und sie ward schwanger und gebar einen Sohn.

9 and he said, Call his name Lo-ammi; for ye are not my people, and I will not be for you.

9 Und er sprach: Gib ihm den Namen Lo-Ammi³; denn ihr seid nicht mein Volk, und ich, ich will nicht euer sein.
