1 And king David was old and advanced in age; and they covered him with clothes, but he obtained no warmth.1 Und der König DavidDavid war alt, wohlbetagt; und sie bedeckten ihn mit KleidernKleidern, aber er wurde nicht warm.
2 And his servants said to him, Let there be found for my lord the king a young virgin; and let her stand before the king, and let her cherish him, and let her lie in thy bosom, that my lord the king may get warm.2 Da sprachen seine KnechteKnechte zu ihm: Man suche meinem HerrnHerrn, dem König, ein Mädchen, eine JungfrauJungfrau; und sie stehe vor dem König und sei ihm eine Pflegerin, und sie schlafe an deinem BusenBusen, daß mein HerrHerr, der König, warm werde.
3 And they sought for a fair damsel throughout the territory of Israel, and found Abishag a Shunammite, and brought her to the king.3 Und man suchte ein schönes Mädchen, in allen Grenzen IsraelsIsraels; und man fand AbischagAbischag, die SunamitinSunamitin, und brachte sie zu dem König.
4 And the damsel was very fair; and cherished the king, and ministered to him; but the king knew her not.4 Und das Mädchen war überaus schön, und sie wurde dem König eine Pflegerin und bediente ihn; aber der König erkannte sie nicht.
5 And Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, I will be king; and he provided himself chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.5 AdonijaAdonija aber, der SohnSohn HaggithsHaggiths, erhob sich und sprach: Ich will König werden! Und er schaffte sich WagenWagen und Reiter an, und fünfzig MannMann, die vor ihm herliefen.
6 And his father had not grieved him at any time in saying, Why doest thou so? and he was also a very comely man; and his mother bore him after Absalom.6 Und sein VaterVater hatte ihn, so lange er lebte, nicht betrübt, daß er gesagt hätte: Warum tust du also? Und auch er war sehr schön von GestaltGestalt; und Haggith1 hatte ihn nach AbsalomAbsalom geboren.
7 And he conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah, and with Abiathar the priest; and they helped Adonijah and followed him .7 Und er hatte Unterredungen mit JoabJoab, dem SohneSohne der ZerujaZeruja, und mit AbjatharAbjathar, dem PriesterPriester; und sie halfen AdonijaAdonija und folgten ihm nach2.
8 But Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and Nathan the prophet, and Shimei, and Rei, and the mighty men whom David had, were not with Adonijah.8 Aber ZadokZadok, der PriesterPriester, und BenajaBenaja, der SohnSohn JojadasJojadas, und NathanNathan, der ProphetProphet, und SimeiSimei und ReiRei, und die Helden, welche DavidDavid hatte, waren nicht mit AdonijaAdonija.
9 And Adonijah sacrificed sheep and oxen and fatted cattle by the stone of Zoheleth, which is by En-rogel, and invited all his brethren, the king's sons, and all the men of Judah, the king's servants;9 Und AdonijaAdonija schlachtete Klein- und Rindvieh und Mastvieh bei dem SteineSteine SochelethSocheleth, der neben En-RogelEn-Rogel ist; und er lud alle seine BrüderBrüder, die Söhne des Königs, und alle Männer von JudaJuda, die KnechteKnechte des Königs.
10 but Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, and the mighty men, and Solomon his brother, he did not invite.10 NathanNathan aber, den ProphetenPropheten, und BenajaBenaja und die Helden und SalomoSalomo, seinen BruderBruder, lud er nicht.
11 And Nathan spoke to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying, Hast thou not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith is king, and David our lord does not know it ?11 Da sprach NathanNathan zu BathsebaBathseba, der MutterMutter SalomosSalomos, und sagte: Hast du nicht gehört, daß AdonijaAdonija, der SohnSohn HaggithsHaggiths, König geworden ist? und unser HerrHerr DavidDavid weiß es nicht.
12 And now, come, let me, I pray thee, give thee counsel, that thou mayest save thine own life, and the life of thy son Solomon.12 So komm nun, laß mich dir doch einen RatRat geben, daß du dein LebenLeben und das LebenLeben deines SohnesSohnes SalomoSalomo errettest.
13 Go and get thee in to king David, and say to him, Didst not thou, my lord, O king, swear to thy handmaid saying, Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne? why then does Adonijah reign?13 Gehe hin und tritt zum König DavidDavid hinein, und sprich zu ihm: Hast du, mein HerrHerr König, nicht deiner MagdMagd geschworen und gesagt: Dein SohnSohn SalomoSalomo soll nach mir König sein, und er soll auf meinem ThroneThrone sitzen? Und warum ist AdonijaAdonija König geworden?
14 Behold, while thou yet talkest there with the king, I also will come in after thee and confirm thy words.14 Siehe, noch wirst du daselbst mit dem König reden, so werde ich nach dir hereinkommen und deine WorteWorte bekräftigen3.
15 And Bathsheba went in to the king into the chamber; and the king was very old; and Abishag the Shunammite ministered to the king.15 Und BathsebaBathseba ging zu dem König hinein, in das Gemach; der König aber war sehr alt, und AbischagAbischag, die SunamitinSunamitin, bediente den König.
16 And Bathsheba bowed and did obeisance to the king. And the king said, What wouldest thou?16 Und BathsebaBathseba verneigte sich und beugte sich nieder vor dem König. Und der König sprach: Was ist dir?
17 And she said to him, My lord, thou hast sworn by Jehovah thy God to thy handmaid, saying, Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne.17 Und sie sprach zu ihm: Mein HerrHerr, du hast ja deiner MagdMagd bei JehovaJehova, deinem GottGott, geschworen: Dein SohnSohn SalomoSalomo soll nach mir König sein, und er soll auf meinem ThroneThrone sitzen;
18 And now behold, Adonijah is king; and now, my lord the king, thou knowest it not.18 und nun, siehe, AdonijaAdonija ist König geworden, und du, mein HerrHerr König, weißt es nicht.
19 And he has sacrificed oxen and fatted cattle and sheep in abundance, and has invited all the sons of the king and Abiathar the priest and Joab the captain of the host; but Solomon thy servant has he not invited.19 Und er hat RinderRinder und Mastvieh und Kleinvieh geschlachtet in Menge, und hat alle Söhne des Königs und AbjatharAbjathar, den PriesterPriester, und JoabJoab, den Heerobersten, geladen; aber deinen KnechtKnecht SalomoSalomo hat er nicht geladen.
20 And thou, my lord the king, the eyes of all Israel are upon thee, that thou shouldest tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.20 Und du, mein HerrHerr König - die AugenAugen von ganz IsraelIsrael sind auf dich gerichtet, daß du ihnen kundtuest, wer auf dem ThroneThrone meines HerrnHerrn, des Königs, nach ihm sitzen soll.
21 Otherwise it shall come to pass when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon will be counted offenders.21 Und es wird geschehen, wenn mein HerrHerr, der König, mit seinen VäternVätern liegt, daß ich und mein SohnSohn SalomoSalomo werden büßen müssen.
22 And behold, while she yet talked with the king, Nathan the prophet also came in.22 Und siehe, noch redete sie mit dem König, da kam der ProphetProphet NathanNathan herein.
23 And they told the king saying, Behold, Nathan the prophet. And when he was come in before the king, he bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.23 Und man berichtete dem König und sprach: Der ProphetProphet NathanNathan ist da! Und er kam vor den König und beugte sich vor dem König auf sein Antlitz zur ErdeErde.
24 And Nathan said, My lord, O king, hast thou said, Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne?24 Und NathanNathan sprach: Mein HerrHerr König, hast du gesagt: AdonijaAdonija soll nach mir König sein, und er soll auf meinem ThroneThrone sitzen?
25 For he is gone down this day, and has sacrificed oxen and fatted cattle and sheep in abundance, and has invited all the king's sons, and the captains of the host, and Abiathar the priest; and behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah!25 Denn er ist heute hinabgegangen und hat RinderRinder und Mastvieh und Kleinvieh geschlachtet in Menge, und hat alle Söhne des Königs und die Obersten des Heeres und AbjatharAbjathar, den PriesterPriester, geladen; und siehe, sie essen und trinken vor ihm und sprechen: Es lebe der König AdonijaAdonija!
26 But me, even me thy servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and thy servant Solomon, he has not invited.26 Aber mich, deinen KnechtKnecht, und ZadokZadok, den PriesterPriester, und BenajaBenaja, den SohnSohn JojadasJojadas, und SalomoSalomo, deinen KnechtKnecht, hat er nicht geladen.
27 Is this thing done by my lord the king, and thou hast not shewn to thy servants who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?27 Ist diese Sache von meinem HerrnHerrn, dem König, aus geschehen? und hast du4 nicht deinen Knechten5 kundgetan, wer auf dem ThroneThrone meines HerrnHerrn, des Königs, nach ihm sitzen soll?
28 Then king David answered and said, Call me Bathsheba. And she came into the king's presence, and stood before the king.28 Da antwortete der König DavidDavid und sprach: Rufet mir BathsebaBathseba! Und sie kam herein vor den König und stand vor dem König.
29 And the king swore, and said, As Jehovah liveth, who has redeemed my soul out of all distress,29 Und der König schwur und sprach: So wahr JehovaJehova lebt, der meine SeeleSeele aus aller BedrängnisBedrängnis erlöst hat,
30 even as I swore to thee by Jehovah the God of Israel, saying, Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne in my stead; even so will I certainly do this day.30 so wie ich dir bei JehovaJehova, dem GottGott IsraelsIsraels, geschworen habe, indem ich sprach: Dein SohnSohn SalomoSalomo soll nach mir König sein, und er soll auf meinem ThroneThrone sitzen an meiner Statt! also werde ich an diesem TageTage tun.
31 And Bathsheba bowed with her face to the earth, and did reverence to the king, and said, Let my lord king David live for ever.31 Da verneigte sich BathsebaBathseba mit dem Antlitz zur ErdeErde und beugte sich vor dem König nieder und sprach: Es lebe mein HerrHerr, der König DavidDavid, ewiglich!
32 And king David said, Call me Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. And they came before the king.32 Und der König DavidDavid sprach: Rufet mir ZadokZadok, den PriesterPriester, und NathanNathan, den ProphetenPropheten, und BenajaBenaja, den SohnSohn JojadasJojadas! Und sie kamen herein vor den König.
33 And the king said to them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon mine own mule, and bring him down to Gihon;33 Und der König sprach zu ihnen: Nehmet die KnechteKnechte eures HerrnHerrn mit euch, und lasset meinen SohnSohn SalomoSalomo auf meiner Mauleselin reiten, und führet ihn nach GihonGihon hinab.
34 and let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him there king over Israel; and blow ye with the trumpet, and say, Long live king Solomon!34 Und ZadokZadok, der PriesterPriester, und NathanNathan, der ProphetProphet, sollen ihn daselbst zum König über IsraelIsrael salben; und ihr sollt in die Posaune stoßen und sagen: Es lebe der König SalomoSalomo!
35 And ye shall come up after him, that he may come and sit on my throne; for he shall reign in my stead, and I have appointed him to be ruler over Israel and over Judah.35 Und ziehet herauf hinter ihm her, und er komme und setze sich auf meinen ThronThron! und er soll König sein an meiner Statt; und ihn habe ich bestellt, daß er FürstFürst sei über IsraelIsrael und über JudaJuda.
36 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king and said, Amen: Jehovah, the God of my lord the king, say so too.36 Und BenajaBenaja, der SohnSohn JojadasJojadas, antwortete dem König und sprach: AmenAmen! also spreche JehovaJehova, der GottGott meines HerrnHerrn, des Königs!
37 As Jehovah has been with my lord the king, even so be he with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king David.37 So wie JehovaJehova mit meinem HerrnHerrn, dem König, gewesen ist, also möge er mit SalomoSalomo sein, und er möge seinen ThronThron noch größer machen als den ThronThron meines HerrnHerrn, des Königs DavidDavid!
38 And Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David's mule, and brought him to Gihon.38 Und ZadokZadok, der PriesterPriester, und NathanNathan, der ProphetProphet, und BenajaBenaja, der SohnSohn JojadasJojadas, und die KerethiterKerethiter und die Pelethiter6 zogen hinab und ließen SalomoSalomo auf der Mauleselin des Königs DavidDavid reiten, und sie führten ihn nach GihonGihon.
39 And Zadok the priest took the horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, Long live king Solomon!39 Und ZadokZadok, der PriesterPriester, nahm das Ölhorn aus dem Zelte7 und salbte SalomoSalomo; und sie stießen in die Posaune, und alles Volk sprach: Es lebe der König SalomoSalomo!
40 And all the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rent with the sound of them.40 Und alles Volk zog hinauf hinter ihm her; und das Volk blies auf Flöten, und sie freuten sich mit großer FreudeFreude, so daß die ErdeErde barst von ihrem Geschrei.
41 And Adonijah and all the guests that were with him heard it as they were finishing their repast; and Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, and he said, Wherefore this noise of the city in an uproar?41 Und AdonijaAdonija hörte es und alle die Geladenen, die bei ihm waren, als sie eben das Essen beendigt hatten; und JoabJoab hörte den Schall der Posaune und sprach: Weshalb dieses Geschrei der lärmenden Stadt?
42 While he yet spoke, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came; and Adonijah said to him , Come in; for thou art a valiant man, and bringest good news.42 Während er noch redete, siehe, da kam JonathanJonathan, der SohnSohn AbjatharsAbjathars, des PriestersPriesters. Und AdonijaAdonija sprach: Komm, denn du bist ein wackerer MannMann und wirst gute Botschaft bringen.
43 And Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, Indeed, our lord king David has made Solomon king.43 Da antwortete JonathanJonathan und sprach zu AdonijaAdonija: Jawohl! unser HerrHerr, der König DavidDavid, hat SalomoSalomo zum König gemacht.
44 And the king has sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites, and they have caused him to ride upon the king's mule;44 Und der König hat ZadokZadok, den PriesterPriester, und NathanNathan, den ProphetenPropheten, und BenajaBenaja, den SohnSohn JojadasJojadas, und die KerethiterKerethiter und die PelethiterPelethiter mit ihm gesandt, und sie haben ihn auf der Mauleselin des Königs reiten lassen;
45 and Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king at Gihon; and they are come up from thence rejoicing, so that the city is in an uproar. This is the noise which ye have heard.45 und ZadokZadok, der PriesterPriester, und NathanNathan, der ProphetProphet, haben ihn in GihonGihon zum König gesalbt; und sie sind von dannen heraufgezogen mit Freuden, und die Stadt ist in Bewegung. Das ist das Geschrei, welches ihr gehört habt.
46 And also Solomon is sitting on the throne of the kingdom.46 Und auch hat sich SalomoSalomo auf den ThronThron des Königreichs gesetzt;
47 And moreover the king's servants came to bless our lord king David, saying, Thy God make the name of Solomon more excellent than thy name, and make his throne greater than thy throne! And the king bowed himself on the bed.47 und auch sind die KnechteKnechte des Königs gekommen, um unseren HerrnHerrn, den König DavidDavid, zu segnen, indem sie sprachen: Dein GottGott mache den NamenNamen SalomosSalomos noch vorzüglicher als deinen NamenNamen, und mache seinen ThronThron größer als deinen ThronThron! Und der König hat auf dem LagerLager angebetet;
48 And also thus said the king: Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, who has given one to sit on my throne this day, mine eyes even seeing it.48 und auch hat der König also gesprochen: Gepriesen sei JehovaJehova, der GottGott IsraelsIsraels, der heute einen gegeben hat, der auf meinem ThroneThrone sitzt, während meine AugenAugen es sehen!
49 And all Adonijah's guests were afraid, and rose up and went every man his way.49 Da erschraken alle die Geladenen AdonijasAdonijas und standen auf und gingen ein jeder seines Weges.
50 And Adonijah feared because of Solomon, and arose and went and caught hold of the horns of the altar.50 Und AdonijaAdonija fürchtete sich vor SalomoSalomo; und er machte sich auf und ging hin und erfaßte die HörnerHörner des AltarsAltars.
51 And it was told Solomon saying, Behold, Adonijah fears king Solomon; for behold, he has caught hold of the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear to me this day that he will not put his servant to death with the sword.51 Und es wurde SalomoSalomo berichtet, indem man sprach: Siehe, AdonijaAdonija fürchtet den König SalomoSalomo, und siehe, er hat die HörnerHörner des AltarsAltars erfaßt und gesagt: Es schwöre mir jetzt der König SalomoSalomo, daß er seinen KnechtKnecht nicht mit dem SchwerteSchwerte töten wolle!
52 And Solomon said, If he be a worthy man, there shall not one of his hairs fall to the earth; but if wickedness be found in him, he shall die.52 Und SalomoSalomo sprach: Wenn er sich als ein wackerer MannMann erweisen wird, so soll von seinem Haar keines auf die ErdeErde fallen; wenn aber Böses an ihm gefunden wird, so soll er sterben.
53 And king Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the altar. And he came and bowed himself to king Solomon; and Solomon said to him, Go to thy house.53 Und der König SalomoSalomo sandte hin, und sie brachten ihn von dem AltarAltar herab; und er kam und beugte sich vor dem König SalomoSalomo nieder; und SalomoSalomo sprach zu ihm: Gehe in dein HausHaus.
