1 And the apostles and the brethren who were in Judaea heard that the nations also had received the word of God;1 Die ApostelApostel aber und die BrüderBrüder, die in JudäaJudäa waren, hörten, daß auch die NationenNationen das WortWort GottesGottes angenommen hätten;
2 and when Peter went up to Jerusalem, they of the circumcision contended with him,2 und als PetrusPetrus nach JerusalemJerusalem hinaufkam, stritten die aus der BeschneidungBeschneidung mit ihm
3 saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised and hast eaten with them.3 und sagten: Du bist zu Männern eingekehrt, die Vorhaut haben, und hast mit ihnen gegessen.
4 But Peter began and set forth the matter to them in order, saying,4 PetrusPetrus aber fing an und setzte es ihnen der Reihe nach auseinander und sprach:
5 I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in an ecstasy I saw a vision, a certain vessel descending like a great sheet, let down by four corners out of heaven, and it came even to me:5 Ich war in der Stadt JoppeJoppe im GebetGebet, und ich sah in einer EntzückungEntzückung ein Gesicht, wie ein gewisses Gefäß herabkam, gleich einem großen leinenen TucheTuche, an vier Zipfeln herniedergelassen aus dem HimmelHimmel; und es kam bis zu mir.
6 on which having fixed mine eyes, I considered, and saw the quadrupeds of the earth, and the wild beasts, and the creeping things, and the fowls of the heaven.6 Und als ich es unverwandt anschaute, bemerkte und sah ich die vierfüßigen TiereTiere der ErdeErde und die wilden TiereTiere und die kriechenden und das Gevögel des HimmelsHimmels.
7 And I heard also a voice saying to me, Rise up, Peter, slay and eat.7 Ich hörte aber auch eine Stimme, die zu mir sagte: Stehe auf, PetrusPetrus, schlachte und iß!
8 And I said, In no wise, Lord, for common or unclean has never entered into my mouth.8 Ich sprach aber: Keineswegs, HerrHerr! denn niemals ist Gemeines oder Unreines in meinen Mund gekommen.
9 And a voice answered the second time out of heaven, What God has cleansed, do not thou make common.9 Eine Stimme aber antwortete zum zweiten Male aus dem HimmelHimmel: Was GottGott gereinigt hat, mache du nicht gemein!
10 And this took place thrice, and again all was drawn up into heaven;10 Dies aber geschah dreimal; und alles wurde wiederum hinaufgezogen in den HimmelHimmel.
11 and lo, immediately three men were at the house in which I was, sent to me from Caesarea.11 Und siehe, alsbald standen vor dem HauseHause, in welchem ich war, drei Männer, die von CäsareaCäsarea zu mir gesandt waren.
12 And the Spirit said to me to go with them, nothing doubting. And there went with me these six brethren also, and we entered into the house of the man,12 Der GeistGeist aber hieß mich mit ihnen gehen, ohne irgend zu zweifeln. Es kamen aber auch diese sechs BrüderBrüder mit mir, und wir kehrten in das HausHaus des MannesMannes ein.
13 and he related to us how he had seen the angel in his house, standing and saying to him , Send men to Joppa and fetch Simon, who is surnamed Peter,13 Und er erzählte uns, wie er den EngelEngel gesehen habe in seinem HauseHause stehen und [zu ihm] sagen: Sende nach JoppeJoppe und laß SimonSimon holen der PetrusPetrus zubenamt ist;
14 who shall speak words to thee whereby thou shalt be saved, thou and all thy house.14 der wird WorteWorte zu dir reden, durch welche du errettet werden wirst, du und dein ganzes HausHaus.
15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them even as upon us also at the beginning.15 Indem ich aber zu reden begann, fiel der HeiligeHeilige GeistGeist auf sie, so wie auch auf uns im AnfangAnfang.
16 And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, John baptised with water, but ye shall be baptised with the Holy Spirit.16 Ich gedachte aber an das WortWort des HerrnHerrn, wie er sagte: JohannesJohannes taufte zwar mit Wasser, ihr aber werdet mit Heiligem GeisteGeiste getauft werden.
17 If then God has given them the same gift as also to us when we had believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who indeed was I to be able to forbid God?17 Wenn nun GottGott ihnen die gleiche Gabe gegeben hat wie auch uns, die wir an den HerrnHerrn JesusJesus ChristusChristus geglaubt haben, wer war ich, daß ich vermocht hätte, GottGott zu wehren?
18 And when they heard these things they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then indeed God has to the nations also granted repentance to life.18 Als sie aber dies gehört hatten, beruhigten sie sich und verherrlichten GottGott und sagten: Dann hat GottGott also auch den NationenNationen die BußeBuße gegeben zum LebenLeben.
19 They then who had been scattered abroad through the tribulation that took place on the occasion of Stephen, passed through the country to Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to no one but to Jews alone.19 Die nun zerstreut waren durch die DrangsalDrangsal, welche wegen StephanusStephanus entstanden war, zogen hindurch bis nach PhönicienPhönicien und CypernCypern und Antiochien und redeten zu niemand das WortWort, als allein zu Juden.
20 But there were certain of them, Cyprians and Cyrenians, who entering into Antioch spoke to the Greeks also, announcing the glad tidings of the Lord Jesus.20 Es waren aber unter ihnen etliche Männer von CypernCypern und KyreneKyrene, welche, als sie nach Antiochien kamen, auch zu den GriechenGriechen redeten, indem sie das EvangeliumEvangelium von dem HerrnHerrn JesusJesus verkündigten.
21 And the Lord's hand was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.21 Und des HerrnHerrn Hand war mit ihnen, und eine große Zahl glaubte und bekehrte sich zu dem HerrnHerrn.
22 And the report concerning them reached the ears of the assembly which was in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to go through as far as Antioch:22 Es kam aber die Rede von ihnen zu den Ohren der VersammlungVersammlung, die in JerusalemJerusalem war, und sie sandten BarnabasBarnabas aus, daß er hindurchzöge bis nach Antiochien;
23 who, having arrived and seeing the grace of God, rejoiced, and exhorted all with purpose of heart to abide with the Lord;23 welcher, als er hingekommen war und die GnadeGnade GottesGottes sah, sich freute und alle ermahnte, mit Herzensentschluß bei dem HerrnHerrn zu verharren.
24 for he was a good man and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith; and a large crowd of people were added to the Lord.24 Denn er war ein guter MannMann und voll Heiligen GeistesGeistes und Glaubens; und eine zahlreiche Menge wurde dem HerrnHerrn hinzugetan.
25 And he went away to Tarsus to seek out Saul.25 Er zog aber aus nach TarsusTarsus, um Saulus aufzusuchen; und als er ihn gefunden hatte, brachte er ihn nach Antiochien.
26 And having found him , he brought him to Antioch. And so it was with them that for a whole year they were gathered together in the assembly and taught a large crowd: and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.26 Es geschah ihnen aber, daß sie ein ganzes JahrJahr in der VersammlungVersammlung zusammenkamen und eine zahlreiche Menge lehrten, und daß die JüngerJünger zuerst in Antiochien ChristenChristen genannt wurden.
27 Now in these days prophets went down from Jerusalem to Antioch;27 In diesen Tagen aber kamen ProphetenPropheten von JerusalemJerusalem nach Antiochien herab.
28 and one from among them, by name Agabus, rose up and signified by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine over all the inhabited earth, which also came to pass under Claudius.28 Einer aber von ihnen, mit NamenNamen AgabusAgabus, stand auf und zeigte durch den GeistGeist eine große HungersnotHungersnot an, die über den ganzen Erdkreis kommen sollte, welche auch unter KlaudiusKlaudius eintrat.
29 And they determined, according as any one of the disciples was well off, each of them to send to the brethren who dwelt in Judaea, to minister to them ;29 Sie beschlossen aber, jenachdem einer der JüngerJünger begütert war, ein jeder von ihnen zur Hilfsleistung den BrüdernBrüdern zu senden, die in JudäaJudäa wohnten;
30 which also they did, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.30 was sie auch taten, indem sie es an die Ältesten sandten durch die Hand des BarnabasBarnabas und Saulus.
