1 And Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, made bold, and with him Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, the sons of Reuben;1 Und KorahKorah, der SohnSohn JizharsJizhars, des SohnesSohnes KehathsKehaths, des SohnesSohnes LevisLevis, unternahm es, und mit ihm DathanDathan und AbiramAbiram, die Söhne EliabsEliabs, und OnOn, der SohnSohn PeletsPelets, die Söhne RubensRubens,
2 and they rose up against Moses, with two hundred and fifty men of the children of Israel, princes of the assembly, summoned to the council, men of renown;2 und sie standen auf gegen MoseMose, mit zweihundert und fünfzig Männern von den KindernKindern IsraelIsrael, Fürsten der GemeindeGemeinde, Berufenen1 der VersammlungVersammlung, Männern von NamenNamen.
3 and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, It is enough; for all the assembly, all of them are holy, and Jehovah is among them; and why do ye lift up yourselves above the congregation of Jehovah?3 Und sie versammelten sich wider MoseMose und wider AaronAaron und sprachen zu ihnen: Laßt es genug sein! denn die ganze GemeindeGemeinde, sie allesamt sind heilig, und JehovaJehova ist in ihrer Mitte! Und warum erhebet ihr euch über die VersammlungVersammlung JehovasJehovas?
4 When Moses heard this, he fell on his face.4 Als MoseMose es hörte, fiel er auf sein Angesicht.
5 And he spoke to Korah and to all his band, saying, Even to-morrow will Jehovah make known who is his, and who is holy; and he will cause him to come near to him; and him whom he has chosen, him will he cause to come near to him.5 Und er redete zu KorahKorah und zu seiner ganzen RotteRotte und sprach: MorgenMorgen, da wird JehovaJehova kundtun, wer sein ist und wer heilig2 ist, daß er ihn zu sich nahen lasse; und wen er erwählt, den wird er zu sich nahen lassen.
6 This do: take you censers, Korah, and all his band,6 Dieses tut: Nehmet euch Räucherpfannen, KorahKorah und seine ganze RotteRotte,
7 and put fire therein, and lay incense thereon before Jehovah to-morrow; and it shall be that the man whom Jehovah doth choose, he shall be holy. It is enough, ye sons of Levi!7 und morgen tut FeuerFeuer darein und leget RäucherwerkRäucherwerk darauf vor JehovaJehova; und es soll geschehen, der MannMann, den JehovaJehova erwählen wird, der sei der HeiligeHeilige. Laßt es genug sein, ihr Söhne LevisLevis!
8 And Moses said to Korah, Hear, I pray you, ye sons of Levi!8 Und MoseMose sprach zu KorahKorah: Höret doch, ihr Söhne LevisLevis!
9 Is it too little for you, that the God of Israel has separated you from the assembly of Israel, to bring you near to himself to do the work of the tabernacle of Jehovah, and to stand before the assembly to minister to them?9 Ist es euch zu wenig, daß der GottGott IsraelsIsraels euch aus der GemeindeGemeinde IsraelIsrael ausgesondert hat, um euch zu sich nahen zu lassen, damit ihr den Dienst der Wohnung JehovasJehovas verrichtet, und vor der GemeindeGemeinde stehet, um sie zu bedienen,
10 --that he has brought thee near, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee; and seek ye now the priesthood also?10 daß er dich und alle deine BrüderBrüder, die Söhne LevisLevis, mit dir hat herzunahen lassen? Und ihr trachtet auch nach dem PriestertumPriestertum!
11 For which cause thou and all thy band are banded together against Jehovah; and Aaron, who is he that ye murmur against him?11 Darum rottet ihr euch zusammen, du und deine ganze RotteRotte, wider JehovaJehova; denn AaronAaron, was ist er, daß ihr wider ihn murret?
12 And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab; but they said, We will not come up!12 Und MoseMose sandte hin, um DathanDathan und AbiramAbiram, die Söhne EliabsEliabs, zu rufen. Aber sie sprachen: Wir kommen nicht hinauf!
13 Is it a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, that thou must make thyself altogether a ruler over us?13 Ist es zu wenig, daß du uns aus einem Lande, das von MilchMilch und HonigHonig fließt, heraufgeführt hast, um uns in der WüsteWüste sterben zu lassen, daß du dich auch gar zum Herrscher über uns aufwirfst?
14 Moreover, thou hast not brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, or given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come up!14 Du hast uns keineswegs in ein Land gebracht, das von MilchMilch und HonigHonig fließt, noch uns Äcker und WeinbergeWeinberge als ErbteilErbteil gegeben! Willst du diesen Leuten die AugenAugen ausstechen? Wir kommen nicht hinauf!
15 Then Moses was very wroth, and said to Jehovah, Have no regard to their oblation: not one ass have I taken from them, neither have I hurt one of them.15 Da ergrimmte MoseMose sehr und sprach zu JehovaJehova: Wende dich nicht zu ihrer OpfergabeOpfergabe! nicht einen EselEsel habe ich von ihnen genommen, und keinem einzigen unter ihnen ein LeidLeid getan.
16 And Moses said to Korah, Be thou and all thy band before Jehovah, thou, and they, and Aaron, to-morrow.16 Und MoseMose sprach zu KorahKorah: Du und deine ganze RotteRotte, ihr sollt morgen vor JehovaJehova erscheinen3, du und sie und AaronAaron.
17 And take each his censer, and put incense thereon, and present before Jehovah every man his censer, two hundred and fifty censers; and thou, and Aaron, each his censer.17 Und nehmet ein jeder seine RäucherpfanneRäucherpfanne und leget RäucherwerkRäucherwerk darauf, und bringet ein jeder seine RäucherpfanneRäucherpfanne dar vor JehovaJehova, zweihundert und fünfzig Räucherpfannen; und du und AaronAaron, ein jeder seine RäucherpfanneRäucherpfanne.
18 And they took each his censer, and put fire on them, and laid incense thereon, and stood before the entrance to the tent of meeting, as well as Moses and Aaron.18 Und sie nahmen ein jeder seine RäucherpfanneRäucherpfanne und taten FeuerFeuer darauf und legten RäucherwerkRäucherwerk darauf; und sie traten hin an den Eingang des ZeltesZeltes der Zusammenkunft, auch MoseMose und AaronAaron.
19 And Korah gathered the whole assembly against them to the entrance of the tent of meeting. And the glory of Jehovah appeared to all the assembly.19 Und KorahKorah versammelte wider sie die ganze GemeindeGemeinde an den Eingang des ZeltesZeltes der Zusammenkunft.Da erschien die HerrlichkeitHerrlichkeit JehovasJehovas vor der ganzen GemeindeGemeinde.
20 And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,20 Und JehovaJehova redete zu MoseMose und zu AaronAaron und sprach:
21 Separate yourselves from the midst of this assembly, and I will consume them in a moment.21 Sondert euch ab aus der Mitte dieser GemeindeGemeinde, und ich will sie vernichten in einem Augenblick!
22 And they fell on their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh! shall one* man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with the whole assembly?22 Und sie fielen auf ihr Angesicht und sprachen: GottGott4, du GottGott der GeisterGeister alles FleischesFleisches! der eine MannMann sündigt, und du solltest über die ganze GemeindeGemeinde zürnen?
23 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,23 Und JehovaJehova redete zu MoseMose und sprach:
24 Speak unto the assembly, saying, Get you up from about the habitation of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.24 Rede zu der GemeindeGemeinde und sprich: Hebet euch ringsum weg von der Wohnung KorahsKorahs, DathansDathans und AbiramsAbirams.
25 And Moses rose up and went to Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.25 Da stand MoseMose auf und ging zu DathanDathan und AbiramAbiram, und ihm nach gingen die Ältesten IsraelsIsraels.
26 And he spoke to the assembly, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye perish in all their sins.26 Und er redete zu der GemeindeGemeinde und sprach: Weichet doch von den Zelten dieser gesetzlosen Männer und rühret nichts an, was ihnen gehört, daß ihr nicht weggerafft werdet in allen ihren Sünden!
27 And they got up from the habitation of Koran, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side. And Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the entrance of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little ones.27 Und sie hoben sich ringsum weg von der Wohnung KorahsKorahs, DathansDathans und AbiramsAbirams. Und DathanDathan und AbiramAbiram traten heraus und standen am Eingang ihrer ZelteZelte mit ihren Weibern und ihren Söhnen und ihren Kindlein.
28 And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that Jehovah has sent me to do all these deeds, for they are not out of my own heart:28 Und MoseMose sprach: Daran sollt ihr erkennen, daß JehovaJehova mich gesandt hat, alle diese Taten zu tun, daß ich nicht aus meinem Herzen gehandelt habe:
29 if these men die as all men die, and are visited with the visitation of all men, Jehovah has not sent me;29 Wenn diese sterben, wie alle Menschen sterben, und mit der Heimsuchung aller Menschen heimgesucht werden, so hat JehovaJehova mich nicht gesandt;
30 but if Jehovah make a new thing, and the ground open its mouth, and swallow them up, and all that they have, and they go down alive into Sheol, then ye shall know that these men have despised Jehovah.30 wenn aber JehovaJehova ein Neues5 schafft und der Erdboden seinen Mund auftut und sie verschlingt mit allem was ihnen angehört, und sie lebendig in den ScheolScheol hinabfahren, so werdet ihr erkennen, daß diese Männer JehovaJehova verachtet haben. -
31 And it came to pass when he had ended speaking all these words, that the ground clave apart that was under them.31 Und es geschah, als er alle diese WorteWorte ausgeredet hatte, da spaltete sich der Erdboden, der unter ihnen war,
32 And the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men that belonged to Korah, and all their property.32 und die ErdeErde tat ihren Mund auf und verschlang sie und ihre Familien6 und alle Menschen, die KorahKorah angehörten, und die ganze Habe.
33 And they went down, they and all that they had, alive into Sheol, and the earth covered them; and they perished from among the congregation.33 Und sie fuhren, sie und alles was ihnen angehörte, lebendig in den ScheolScheol hinab; und die ErdeErde bedeckte sie, und sie wurden mitten aus der VersammlungVersammlung vertilgt.
34 And all Israel that were round about them fled at their cry; for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up!34 Und ganz IsraelIsrael, das rings um sie her war, floh bei ihrem Geschrei; denn sie sprachen: Daß die ErdeErde uns nicht verschlinge!
35 And there came out a fire from Jehovah, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that had presented incense.35 Und FeuerFeuer ging aus von JehovaJehova und fraß die zweihundert und fünfzig Männer, die das RäucherwerkRäucherwerk dargebracht hatten.
36 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,1 Und JehovaJehova redete zu MoseMose und sprach:
37 Speak to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning; and scatter the fire afar; for they are hallowed,2 Sprich zu EleasarEleasar, dem SohneSohne AaronsAarons, dem Priester7, daß er die Räucherpfannen aus dem Brande herausnehme; und streue das FeuerFeuer hinweg, denn sie sind heilig.
38 the censers of these sinners who have forfeited their life; and they shall make them into broad plates for the covering of the altar; for they presented them before Jehovah, therefore they are hallowed; and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel.3 Die Räucherpfannen dieser Männer, welche wider ihre SeeleSeele gesündigt haben, - man mache daraus breitgeschlagene Bleche zum Überzug für den AltarAltar; denn sie haben sie vor JehovaJehova dargebracht, und so sind sie heilig; und sie sollen den KindernKindern IsraelIsrael zum ZeichenZeichen sein.
39 And Eleazar the priest took the copper censers, which they that were burnt had presented; and they were made broad plates for a covering of the altar:4 Und EleasarEleasar, der PriesterPriester, nahm die ehernen Räucherpfannen, welche die Verbrannten dargebracht hatten, und man schlug sie breit zum Überzug für den AltarAltar,
40 as a memorial to the children of Israel, that no stranger who is not of the seed of Aaron come near to burn incense before Jehovah, that he be not as Korah, and as his band, --as Jehovah had said to him through Moses.5 als ein Gedächtnis für die KinderKinder IsraelIsrael, auf daß kein FremderFremder, der nicht vom Samen AaronsAarons ist, herzunahe, um RäucherwerkRäucherwerk vor JehovaJehova zu räuchern, und es ihm nicht ergehe wie KorahKorah und seiner RotteRotte, - so wie JehovaJehova durch MoseMose zu ihm8 geredet hatte.
41 And the whole assembly of the children of Israel murmured on the morrow against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of Jehovah.6 Und die ganze GemeindeGemeinde der KinderKinder IsraelIsrael murrte am anderen MorgenMorgen wider MoseMose und wider AaronAaron und sprach: Ihr habt das Volk JehovasJehovas getötet!
42 And it came to pass, when the assembly was gathered together against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tent of meeting, and behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of Jehovah appeared.7 Und es geschah, als die GemeindeGemeinde sich wider MoseMose und wider AaronAaron versammelte, da wandten sie sich zu dem ZelteZelte der Zusammenkunft, und siehe, die WolkeWolke bedeckte es, und die HerrlichkeitHerrlichkeit JehovasJehovas erschien.
43 And Moses and Aaron went before the tent of meeting.8 Da gingen MoseMose und AaronAaron vor das Zelt der ZusammenkunftZelt der Zusammenkunft.
44 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,9 Und JehovaJehova redete zu MoseMose und sprach:
45 Get you up from the midst of this assembly, and I will consume them in a moment. And they fell on their faces.10 Hebet euch weg aus der Mitte dieser GemeindeGemeinde, und ich will sie vernichten in einem Augenblick! Da fielen sie auf ihr Angesicht.
46 And Moses said to Aaron, Take the censer, and put fire thereon from off the altar, and lay on incense, and carry it quickly to the assembly, and make atonement for them; for there is wrath gone out from Jehovah: the plague is begun.11 Und MoseMose sprach zu AaronAaron: Nimm die RäucherpfanneRäucherpfanne und tue FeuerFeuer vom AltarAltar darauf und lege RäucherwerkRäucherwerk auf, und bringe es eilends zu der GemeindeGemeinde und tue SühnungSühnung für sie; denn der ZornZorn ist ausgegangen von9 JehovaJehova, die Plage hat begonnen.
47 And Aaron took as Moses had said, and ran into the midst of the congregation; and behold, the plague had begun among the people; and he put on incense, and made atonement for the people.12 Und AaronAaron nahm die RäucherpfanneRäucherpfanne, so wie MoseMose geredet hatte, und lief mitten unter die VersammlungVersammlung, und siehe, die Plage hatte unter dem Volke begonnen; und er legte das RäucherwerkRäucherwerk auf und tat SühnungSühnung für das Volk.
48 And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.13 Und er stand zwischen den Toten und den Lebendigen, und der Plage ward gewehrt.
49 Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand seven hundred, besides them that had died because of the matter of Korah.14 Und es waren derer, die an der Plage starben, vierzehntausend und siebenhundert, außer denen, die KorahsKorahs wegen gestorben waren.
50 And Aaron returned to Moses to the entrance of the tent of meeting; and the plague was stayed.15 Und AaronAaron kam wieder zu MoseMose an den Eingang des ZeltesZeltes der Zusammenkunft, als der Plage gewehrt war.
