1 And he entered and passed through Jericho.1 Und er ging hinein und zog durch JerichoJericho.
2 And behold, there was a man by name called Zacchaeus, and he was chief tax-gatherer, and he was rich.2 Und siehe, da war ein MannMann, mit NamenNamen ZachäusZachäus, und selbiger war ein Oberzöllner, und er war reich.
3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was: and he could not for the crowd, because he was little in stature.3 Und er suchte Jesum zu sehen, wer er wäre; und er vermochte es nicht vor der Volksmenge, denn er war klein von GestaltGestalt.
4 And running on before, he got up into a sycamore that he might see him, for he was going to pass that way .4 Und er lief voraus und stieg auf einen Maulbeer-Feigenbaum, auf daß er ihn sähe; denn er sollte daselbst durchkommen.
5 And when he came up to the place, Jesus looked up and saw him, and said to him, Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for to-day I must remain in thy house.5 Und als er an den Ort kam, sah JesusJesus auf und erblickte ihn und sprach zu ihm: ZachäusZachäus, steige eilends hernieder, denn heute muß ich in deinem HauseHause bleiben.
6 And he made haste and came down, and received him with joy.6 Und er stieg eilends hernieder und nahm ihn auf mit Freuden.
7 And all murmured when they saw it , saying, He has turned in to lodge with a sinful man.7 Und als sie es sahen, murrten alle und sagten: Er ist eingekehrt, um bei einem sündigen ManneManne zu herbergen.
8 But Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor, and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I return him fourfold.8 ZachäusZachäus aber stand und sprach zu dem HerrnHerrn: Siehe, HerrHerr, die Hälfte meiner Güter gebe ich den Armen, und wenn ich von jemand etwas durch falsche Anklage genommen habe, so erstatte ich es vierfältig.
9 And Jesus said to him, To-day salvation is come to this house, inasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham;9 JesusJesus aber sprach zu ihm: Heute ist diesem HauseHause HeilHeil widerfahren, dieweil auch er ein SohnSohn AbrahamsAbrahams ist;
10 for the Son of man has come to seek and to save that which is lost.10 denn der Sohn des MenschenSohn des Menschen ist gekommen, zu suchen und zu erretten was verloren ist.
11 But as they were listening to these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was near to Jerusalem and they thought that the kingdom of God was about to be immediately manifested.11 Während sie aber dieses hörten, fügte er noch ein GleichnisGleichnis hinzu,1 weil er nahe bei JerusalemJerusalem war, und sie meinten, daß das Reich GottesReich Gottes alsbald erscheinen sollte.
12 He said therefore, A certain high-born man went to a distant country to receive for himself a kingdom and return.12 Er sprach nun: Ein gewisser hochgeborener MannMann zog in ein fernes Land, um ein ReichReich für sich zu empfangen und wiederzukommen.
13 And having called his own ten bondmen, he gave to them ten minas, and said to them, Trade while I am coming.13 Er berief aber seine zehn2 Knechte3 und gab ihnen zehn Pfunde4 und sprach zu ihnen: Handelt, bis5 ich komme.
14 But his citizens hated him, and sent an embassy after him, saying, We will not that this man should reign over us.14 Seine BürgerBürger aber haßten ihn und schickten eine GesandtschaftGesandtschaft hinter ihm her und ließen sagen: Wir wollen nicht, daß dieser über uns herrsche.
15 And it came to pass on his arrival back again, having received the kingdom, that he desired these bondmen to whom he gave the money to be called to him, in order that he might know what every one had gained by trading.15 Und es geschah, als er zurückkam, nachdem er das ReichReich empfangen hatte, da hieß er diese KnechteKnechte, denen er das GeldGeld gegeben, zu sich rufen, auf daß er wisse, was ein jeder erhandelt hätte.
16 And the first came up, saying, My Lord, thy mina has produced ten minas.16 Der erste aber kam herbei und sagte: HerrHerr, dein PfundPfund hat zehn PfundePfunde hinzugewonnen.
17 And he said to him, Well done , thou good bondman; because thou hast been faithful in that which is least, be thou in authority over ten cities.17 Und er sprach zu ihm: Wohl, du guter KnechtKnecht! weil du im Geringsten treu warst, so habe GewaltGewalt über zehn Städte.
18 And the second came, saying, My Lord, thy mina has made five minas.18 Und der zweite kam und sagte: HerrHerr, dein PfundPfund hat fünf PfundePfunde eingetragen.
19 And he said also to this one, And thou, be over five cities.19 Er sprach aber auch zu diesem: Und du, sei über fünf Städte.
20 And another came, saying, My Lord, lo, there is thy mina, which I have kept laid up in a towel.20 Und ein anderer kam und sagte: HerrHerr, siehe, hier ist dein PfundPfund, welches ich in einem SchweißtuchSchweißtuch verwahrt hielt;
21 For I feared thee because thou art a harsh man: thou takest up what thou hast not laid down, and thou reapest what thou hast not sowed.21 denn ich fürchtete dich, weil du ein strenger MannMann bist: du nimmst, was du nicht hingelegt, und du erntest, was du nicht gesät hast.
22 He says to him, Out of thy mouth will I judge thee, wicked bondman: thou knewest that I am a harsh man, taking up what I have not laid down and reaping what I have not sowed.22 Er spricht zu ihm: Aus deinem Munde werde ich dich richten, du böser KnechtKnecht! Du wußtest, daß ich ein strenger MannMann bin, der ich nehme, was ich nicht hingelegt, und ernte, was ich nicht gesät habe?
23 And why didst thou not give my money to the bank; and I should have received it, at my coming, with interest?23 Und warum hast du mein GeldGeld nicht in eine BankBank gegeben, und wenn ich kam, hätte ich es mit ZinsenZinsen eingefordert?
24 And he said to those that stood by, Take from him the mina and give it to him who has the ten minas.24 Und er sprach zu den Dabeistehenden: Nehmet das PfundPfund von ihm und gebet es dem, der die zehn PfundePfunde hat.
25 And they said to him, Lord, he has ten minas.25 (Und sie sprachen zu ihm: HerrHerr, er hat zehn PfundePfunde!)
26 For I say unto you, that to every one that has shall be given; but from him that has not, that even which he has shall be taken from him.26 Denn ich sage euch: Jedem, der da hat, wird gegeben werden; von dem aber, der nicht hat, von dem wird selbst was er hat weggenommen werden.
27 Moreover those mine enemies, who would not have me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them before me.27 Doch jene, meine Feinde, die nicht wollten, daß ich über sie herrschen sollte, bringet her und erschlaget sie vor mir.
28 And having said these things, he went on before, going up to Jerusalem.28 Und als er dies gesagt hatte, zog er voran, indem er hinaufging nach JerusalemJerusalem.
29 And it came to pass as he drew near to Bethphage and Bethany at the mountain called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,29 Und es geschah, als er BethphageBethphage und BethanienBethanien nahte, gegen den BergBerg hin, welcher Ölbergberg genannt wird, sandte er zwei seiner JüngerJünger
30 saying, Go into the village over against you , in which ye will find, on entering it, a colt tied up, on which no child of man ever sat at any time: loose it and lead it here .30 und sprach: Gehet hin in das DorfDorf gegenüber, und wenn ihr hineinkommet, werdet ihr ein Füllen darin angebunden finden, auf welchem kein MenschMensch je gesessen hat; bindet es los und führet es her.
31 And if any one ask you, Why do ye loose it ? thus shall ye say to him, Because the Lord has need of it.31 Und wenn jemand euch fragt: Warum bindet ihr es los? so sprechet also zu ihm: Der HerrHerr bedarf seiner.
32 And they that were sent, having gone their way, found as he had said to them.32 Und die Abgesandten gingen hin und fanden es, wie er ihnen gesagt hatte.
33 And as they were loosing the colt, its masters said to them, Why loose ye the colt?33 Als sie aber das Füllen losbanden, sprachen die Herren desselben zu ihnen: Warum bindet ihr das Füllen los?
34 And they said, Because the Lord has need of it.34 Sie aber sprachen: Der HerrHerr bedarf seiner.
35 And they led it to Jesus; and having cast their own garments on the colt, they put Jesus on it .35 Und sie führten es zu Jesu; und sie warfen ihre KleiderKleider auf das Füllen und setzten Jesum darauf.
36 And as he went, they strewed their clothes in the way.36 Während er aber hinzog, breiteten sie ihre KleiderKleider aus auf den Weg.
37 And as he drew near, already at the descent of the mount of Olives, all the multitude of the disciples began, rejoicing, to praise God with a loud voice for all the works of power which they had seen,37 Und als er schon nahte und bei dem Abhang des Ölbergs war, fing die ganze Menge der JüngerJünger an, mit lauter Stimme freudig GottGott zu loben über alle die Wunderwerke, die sie gesehen hatten,
38 saying, Blessed the King that comes in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.38 indem sie sagten: „Gepriesen sei der König, der da kommt im NamenNamen des HerrnHerrn!“6 FriedeFriede im HimmelHimmel und HerrlichkeitHerrlichkeit in der Höhe7!
39 And some of the Pharisees from the crowd said to him, Teacher, rebuke thy disciples.39 Und etliche der PharisäerPharisäer aus der Volksmenge sprachen zu ihm: LehrerLehrer, verweise es deinen JüngernJüngern.
40 And he answering said to them, I say unto you, If these shall be silent, the stones will cry out.40 Und er antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Ich sage euch, wenn diese schweigen, so werden die SteineSteine schreien.
41 And as he drew near, seeing the city, he wept over it,41 Und als er sich näherte und die Stadt sah, weinte er über sie
42 saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, even at least in this thy day, the things that are for thy peace: but now they are hid from thine eyes;42 und sprach: Wenn auch du erkannt hättest, und selbst an diesem deinem TageTage, was zu deinem Frieden dient! Jetzt aber ist es vor deinen AugenAugen verborgen.
43 for days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall make a palisaded mound about thee, and shall close thee around, and keep thee in on every side,43 Denn TageTage werden über dich kommen, da werden deine Feinde einen Wall um dich aufschütten und dich umzingeln und dich von allen Seiten einengen;
44 and shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children in thee; and shall not leave in thee a stone upon a stone: because thou knewest not the season of thy visitation.44 und sie werden dich und deine KinderKinder in dir zu Boden werfen und werden in dir nicht einen Stein auf dem anderen lassen, darum daß du die ZeitZeit deiner Heimsuchung nicht erkannt hast.
45 And entering into the temple, he began to cast out those that sold and bought in it,45 Und als er in den Tempel8 eingetreten war, fing er an auszutreiben die darin verkauften und kauften,
46 saying to them, It is written, My house is a house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of robbers.46 indem er zu ihnen sprach: Es steht geschrieben: „Mein HausHaus ist ein Bethaus“;9 „ihr aber habt es zu einer Räuberhöhle gemacht“.10
47 And he was teaching day by day in the temple: and the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,47 Und er lehrte täglich im Tempel11; die Hohenpriester aber und die Schriftgelehrten und die Ersten des Volkes suchten ihn umzubringen.
48 and did not find what they could do, for all the people hung on him to hear.48 Und sie fanden nicht, was sie tun sollten, denn das ganze Volk hing an seinem Munde12.
