1 And he said559 unto me, Son1121 of man120, stand5975 upon thy feet7272, and I will speak1696 unto thee. 2 And the spirit7307 entered935 into me when he spake1696 unto me, and set5975 me upon my feet7272, that I heard8085 him that spake1696 unto me. 3 And he said559 unto me, Son1121 of man120, I send7971 thee to the children1121 of Israel3478, to a rebellious4775 nation1471 that hath rebelled4775 against me: they and their fathers1 have transgressed6586 against me, even unto this very6106 day3117.¹ 4 For they are impudent7186 6440 children1121 and stiffhearted2389 3820. I do send7971 thee unto them; and thou shalt say559 unto them, Thus saith559 the Lord136 GOD3069.² 5 And they, whether they will hear8085, or whether they will forbear2308, (for they are a rebellious4805 house1004,) yet shall know3045 that there hath been a prophet5030 among8432 them.

6 And thou, son1121 of man120, be not afraid3372 of them, neither be afraid3372 of their words1697, though briers5621 and thorns5544 be with thee, and thou dost dwell3427 among scorpions6137: be not afraid3372 of their words1697, nor be dismayed2865 at their looks6440, though they be a rebellious4805 house1004.³ 7 And thou shalt speak1696 my words1697 unto them, whether they will hear8085, or whether they will forbear2308: for they are most rebellious4805.⁴ 8 But thou, son1121 of man120, hear8085 what I say1696 unto thee; Be not1961 thou rebellious4805 like that rebellious4805 house1004: open6475 thy mouth6310, and eat398 that I give5414 thee. 9 And when I looked7200, behold, an hand3027 was sent7971 unto me; and, lo, a roll4039 of a book5612 was therein; 10 And he spread6566 it before6440 me; and it was written3789 within6440 and without268: and there was written3789 therein lamentations7015, and mourning1899, and woe1958.
